Xbox Series X No Power Repair (short on 12v rail)
This Xbox Series X was mailed into me by a customer. It wouldn’t turn on at all and showed no sign of life. After testing I found a short on the 12v power rail. After using voltage injection and the thermal camera to find the shorted capacitor it was then replaced and partially re assembled to test.
It’s now all fixed and ready to send back to the customer !.

Xbox Series X - zero current draw Xbox Series X turning on and off. I have tested everything else and finally came around to injecting 1V to this power connector. Zero current draw is seen. I slowly increased voltage till 12V and still there was no current draw. At 12V, for a split second when I inject voltage, current draw goes to 0.030 a 0.050A and then goes back to zero. Any suggestions? Also, 12V Gated on southbridge board shows OL in diode mode, is that normal, mate?

I’m not sure to be honest, I try and avoid jobs like those on the series x as they can turn into a complete time hole, so better just to return them as no fixes unless you fancy investing lots of time into them.
Where are you located, i would like to send you my xbox series X, i change the power supply for a new one, my xbox still turn on and after like half a second it turns off again.

My x box series x just Dosnt turn on I think it’s something in the motherboard, but how can I check which one and how do I find the exact problem if I don’t have a thermal camera

Open it up and unplug the power supply from the board. If you then plug it into the wall and measure the output you should be getting 12v from the power supply. Then check the connectors on the board where it plugs into to see if there are any shorts to ground. Then if it is shorted connector a desktop power supply to the positive rail and ground and inject 1volt and then feel around on the board for what’s getting hot.

@@MobileithelpI have the same issue my PSU works and the south board works but the main motherboard has a short but what do you mean by use a desktop power supply?
