haha... well.... if your xbox isn't turning on its either the xbox or powerbrick. If its the brick you need to contact microsoft or buy a fake one of amazon (which I can't recommend but people do that). I upgraded to the One X which doesn't have an external power brick.

Lmao, thanks - sorry it didn’t help... it was meant to be a joke, so glad you liked it. If your power brick isn’t on, you can try to order a new one through Microsoft or a knock off version on Amazon. If it’s not the power brick or a wire, it’s most likely an internal issue which could have been caused by the Xbox over heating.

Nah the easiest solution is if you have an xbox 360 you can use its power brick. Remove the black thing in the middle of the 2 gray things and then bend the gray things apart just enough so it fits in the xbox one console. Then ur done, you'll save about $20-$40 if u were gonna buy another power brick or $300 if u were gonna buy another original xbox or the s & the x verison

The light in the power brick will remain on for a few seconds after you unplug it because there is still some power going through the components in there. The light draws very little power so it will take some time for the light to drain the remaining power.

Try unplugging your Internet cable from your xbox i just did it and it work use wireless for awhile I guess wired conmections consume to much energy at times

Every time I go to turn it on, I have to unplug it for like 30 seconds and then plug it back in, and then it starts working. But that’s EVERY SINGLE TIME

The best way to "PREVENT" this from happening, is to use a surge protector as your native power strip. My power brick just recently fried after a power surge/blackout and I'm forced to buy a new one off Amazon, there's not much eles you can do. This can happen to the Xbox one s, xb1 x, and all Playstation units aswell.(with their internal power supplys) They need to have a surge protector included with all consoles, the life span of a power supply is actually quite long depending on how your setup is. I feel like alot of people are quite literally destroying their power supplys because of somthing that they didn't even know they had to worry about. Having a surge protector pretty much guarantees, that your console and power supply are safe. I just wish I knew this two weeks ago.

The light stays on because of the capacitors which is why you wait awhile before touching anything after you unplug it, because it will shock the hell out of you.

Wait 2 days and may turn on or of you have dummy luck and a couple hours oh and the more sound it makes when you try to turn it on pry means it well turn soon

Xbox has been known to be garbage since xbox360. I went through 6 xbox 360s in 2 years at no fault of my own. Xbox one has been nothing but issues, lately its ran normally and now i think it hss broken by simply unplugging it to move to a new outlet and now it wont turn on ever after "resetting the battery" or whatever. Battery shows power, system does nothing n was working fine before i unplugged it, i didnt even move it for christ sake. Meanwhile ive had a ps3 for like 10 years with thousands n thousands of hours on it and even took a couple good falls and it is still kicking. Shame on you microsoft

I have a similar problem: its all plagged in and the led is orange, when i try to turn it on it only make the sound but doesn't turn on. Its a problem about the xbox or the chase where the led is?

I had the same issue. I'd come in, take off my jacket and shoes, sit down to play, and... nothing. Tried a hammer, screwdriver, flushing it under cold water, swinging on it from a tree, and every other KZread trick. Then, I watched Mr Rogers, and realized I just needed to put a sweater on.

Looks like it has some bad capacitors.

Plug fuse is usually the main culprit, don’t go taking apart your power brick unless you know for sure it’s that

When I try to turn on my Xbox One S, the button lights up and it makes the noise, but then it shuts off and there’s a faint click inside it. I’ve had it 3 years now and it’s been fine up on till now apart from a few times not turning on because dust was in the power cable. Mine has an internal power supply, so I can’t even see wether it’s a problem with that like I could with the Xbox 360. I think it overheated tho, as with the previous Xbox’s you could set it on its side but the One S has vents on the side as well as the top, so it could’ve not be getting hot air out and overheating, as the side I had on the floor was the side the faint clicking noise was coming from.

My xbox made a spark when I stuck in a keyboard on the side port and turned off, how do I fix that?

Solved? As in, the power supply was defective?

Yes, that was part of it - but this video was mostly done in satire out of my frustration for my xbox not working. Decided it would be fun to do while I waited for my new power brick to arrive.... and in reality, i really didn't know what the cause was at first. Usually with xbox it's something internal related or overheating. Anyways, thanks for watching dude! love some fresh roasted coffee, so i like the name!

The light stays on after unplugging because it’s a safety thing built in so if the power goes out it gives your Xbox enough time to safely shut down without messing up the console

I know this is an old video but my cord got torn by my dog from wall to brick. Replaced the entire brick. Now the Xbox doesn’t turn on. Tried my other Xbox’s brick and nothing working. Think the Xbox itself had a surge?

I had an Xbox One S for about 3 weeks before a power surge blew the power brick inside the console...while it was off....while I was at work. Fuck Xbox...but for now I'm under warranty so Microsoft swapped me a new console...but what am I going to do for next month? They only swap it once. Pretty sure this automatically makes PlayStation better.

Just watched you video. If you look at the xbox side there are 3 cylinder capacitors. One looks like it was swelled where the x is at the top of the capacitor. You can replace that. They should be flat, not bulged.

i am having a similar problem. the way to fix it i found out is to unplug everything plug it into the wall first then the power box and when you plug it into the Xbox spam the on button. it may work it may not. i got it to work 3 times after its been unplugged but now the trick doesn't work anymore. : (

I acually fixed mine what you have to do (or what I did) is but the power brick in a way where the cord that goes into the outlet and plugs into the power brick stands up right so the power brick is on top of the power cable (idk if this makes any sense but it worked for me)

My device is a little different, at first it works for no more than 10 minutes and then continues to stop working when the Xbox appears on the screen an hour after trying it it can work for half an hour and come back to a hole again, I cut a new power adapter and clean it in a repair shop , but the problem is still the same... OK this WORKED FOR ME... I couldn't start my Xbox one just like in video....I unplug the brick from the power strip and plug it into the wall and the light came back on....fixed... step1 check if lights on...yes..no..step2 plug brick into a wall outlet if at first no light....step3 if the light on the brick is still off unfortunately you have to buy a new or used one.

My Xbox has to update and when the update is done it has to restart and when I try to turn it on the update keeps restarting

Lol the power brick used an LED light which consume very little power and inside that power supply you will find capacitors which store energy... hence why when power is removed from the PSU the light remains on for a bit.

hmm.. make sure you try checking all of your wires.. especially the HDMI to your tv/monitor. Maybe try a different wire and see if that helps. Good luck!

For those who need a quick fix listen here!!! Unplug everything except the power cord. Then turn on your xbox and when you see the light come on unplug it quickly before the light goes back off and repeat a few times. Then plug everything back in and if it doesn't work do it again till it works! Trust me it will work. Xbox one has surge protection so never plug your xbox one in a power bar with surge protection. For those who's xbox don't even light up do the same thing but when u press the on button listen for a quick click/surge of power then unplug and plug in the power cord from the Xbox side real quick and repeat.
