@DII117 I'm not talking about motion for 360. I am talking about having a joystick WITH the Kinect, as Kinect has a flaw in movement. There would be no fluent movement to move a character in a game, when there is no room to move around. Thus, having a joystick would solve that issue, and developers would be able to utilize Kinect in a more open environment. If you notice, all of Kinects' games are either stationary, or on a rail (like the old FPS games where you can't move)
@surumba0213 жыл бұрын
They still have a few differences, PS3 Move has a controller you use when you get off the couch, while Xbox360 Kinect actually has full body movement and it uses a camera to track your body movement.
@MTMind213 жыл бұрын
@badercriss - It's not as simple as that. ALL console motion controllers lag, including Move, what matters is if the lag is enough to affect gameplay, and in most cases it's not, hence many gamers don't notice it. Also, Kinect's lag is related to how much is being tracked, and so if it's tracking your whole body, then that requires the most processing power and so the lag is about 1/5th sec. If tracking hands only, such as in Child of Eden, then the lag is about the same as Move, or 1/8th sec.

@McSvorsk - Depends on how you look at it. Focussing on gaming, Blu-ray offers more space per disc, hence for games larger than 7GB, you need multiple DVDs on the 360. The Blu-ray drive in the PS3 is slower than the DVD drive in the 360, hence it's common for PS3 games to use a HDD install to speed up load times. So pros and cons for each.

@bigboyindehouse - After my last reply to you, I also posted regarding Kinect tracking fingers (I included 3 videos showing Kinect tracking fingers :-)). And yes, the baggier your clothes the more difficulty Kinect will have tracking your limbs. Hence it tracks what it can see, not what it can't. ;-)

@bigb771 - Technology is about progress, where for consumers it's mostly about taking past/currect technology and making it better, perhaps cheaper, more powerful, adding more features, more capabilities etc. Therefore Kinect takes the EyeToy and enhances it to 3D, Playstation Move takes the Wiimote and enhances it to greater overall accuracy. Hence it's not about who copied who, it's about advancing technology, and BOTH Kinect and Move do that, and hence both are great new motion controllers.

@bigboyindehouse - As for Kinect tracking fingers; /watch?v=tlLschoMhuE /watch?v=lCuItHQEgEQ /watch?v=haCyDo7y3BE So yes, Kinect can track fingers, the issue is the 3D resolution needs to be higher to enable finger tracking at greater distances, and that may happen in the future with a firmware update for Kinect (although just a rumour at present).
@MTMind213 жыл бұрын
@MayorInteresa - With all due respect, I'm talking generally (i.e. basically), and different technology doesn't stop something being an enhancement. Kinect also has a webcam, just like EyeToy and PSEye, which would only offer 2D tracking of people, hence for the 3rd dimension an IR emmiter is used (to project a pattern of dots into a room) with an IR cam to see those dots to interpret the distance. So BASICALLY, that tech is an enhancement over 2D tracking, enabling Kinect to track us in 3D.
@Tacomeal10013 жыл бұрын
@gunninlinguist Wii uses a camera at the front of its controller as the tracking device and sends the info using bluetooth the the console which translates that as motion. PS move uses the camera and the controller as the tracking device. The camera sees the light and translates that into motion, and it uses a Six axis accelerometer in the controller.

@lewis4642011 - And what about Child of Eden? What about the multiple uses of Kinect in Forza 4? Not just for driving in casual/arcade modes, but for the core game there's head tracking (which works really well), voice commands for the UI (which GT5 would have benefited from) and AutoVista mode. In Mass Effect 3, Kinect offers voice recognition for dialog and gameplay (commands to squad), where the devs say is possible because of Kinect, hence no voice recognition for PS3 or PC versions.
@MTMind213 жыл бұрын
@Lunelitius - Eh? Where did you get that from? Nintendo announced Wii (then called Revolution) back in 2004 at a pre-E3 conference, and the Wii was launched in Nov 2006 (Google: 'Nintendo Revolution May 2004'). Sony announced Move (with no name) the day after MS announced Project Natal, which was at E3 2009 (Google: 'Sony Microsoft Motion control E3 2009'). And listen to Move's creator Richard Marks in this 2009 interview (4:41); /watch?v=tlDXIl619CQ Hence the Move wand itself began in 2008.
@MayorInteresa13 жыл бұрын
@MTMind2 - We may not be on the same line: i call asomething an enhancement if it takes a certain technology as a basis and then adds to it. But if someone solves a problem with a completely different approach, i don't call it an enhancement. Yes, you are correct, in the example of the Kinect vs EyeToy, the Kinect also uses a video camera. But by adding an infrared sensor, and a tilt sensor, the developers managed a whole new set of skeletal tracking algorithms to create a new interface.
@MilitaryHistory201113 жыл бұрын
@MTMind2 gt5 has head tracking witch works very well.Also multiple games on ps3 have voice recognition eg. rainbow six Vegas 2 and Tc endwar, so if they wanted to they could also add voice recognition into mass effect 3 Witch they have plenty of time to do as the release date is may next year.

@WJF388 Sorry about that, let's both agree that they are both good consoles
@MTMind213 жыл бұрын
@MayorInteresa - Likewise, Move is basically an enhanced Wiimote, where it's the same control scheme but achieved in a different way. Again, the fact that the tech is different is not the point. The Wii has an IR camera on the end of the wand which tracks the IR lights in the sensor near the TV as the wand moves, Move reverses this with a webcam by the TV which tracks the lit ball on the end of the wand, and both wands have accelerometers and gyros (MotionPlus on Wii) to detect our movements.
@MTMind213 жыл бұрын
@Lunelitius - Enchanted? I assume that's a typo ;-) And if you look at your video again, you'll see my post there from 1 month ago. Richard Marks has done superb work with object tracking via webcams since before joining Sony in 1999, but they never thought of a motion sensing wand, not even a prototype nor a patent, until they saw the Wii. Hence Sony's FIRST prototype for a motion sensing wand was filed in October 2008, almost 2 years AFTER the Wii was launched (see the link in my post there).

@GaMatecal - They don't need a special controller to achieve that because 360 owners have one, i.e. the standard 360 controller :-). MS have confirmed (and Epic have backed this) that many core devs are working with a hybrid model for control (google: 'Kinect hybrid'). Eg. in a FPS, gamers use the 360 controller as normal with Kinect adding extra features like head tracking, voice/gesture commands, leaning, perhaps grenade throwing, special melee attacks etc. Forza 4 is a good example of this.

@DII117 - Except there are core games in development for the 360 that will uses both the 360 controller and Kinect together (google: 'Kinect hybrid'). Hence that isn't something that needs to wait for the next-gen Xbox, it will be happening this gen with Kinect on the 360. Forza 4 is an example of Kinect being used with controller and driving wheel, however there are numerous games in development that will take that hybrid concept much further. And both MS and Sony are working on new consoles.

@mclmatty LOL of course i wasn't mentioning games over the past few years or else i would have included games like god of war 3 or heavy rain or gran turismo 5 etc i hope you realise that most of the games you mentioned either haven't been confirmed or have absolutely no information or screens besides the name? so your are excited over titles or possibilities of games that may be announced LOL what is the name of that new halo? ( oh yeah hasn't been announced ) screens for Haunt or PGR 5?
@ZacEffron U said it
@Awayze - Actually I just realized that quote wasn't you, that was from psgamerss. Thought I was talking to the same person :-) But just the same, my points remain the same, PS Move was developed after the Wii was launched, starting in 2008 and using the sphere tracking webcam tech which was part of the research for EyeToy, as confirmed by EyeToy and Move creator Richard Marks in that interview I posted.
@Outrider9 That's what she said!
@TheBhisop wrong, you need to research.
*clearly
oh wow i was expecting to see one top comment saying "clearly its the kinect" and another saying "clearly ist the move"
They still have a few differences, PS3 Move has a controller you use when you get off the couch, while Xbox360 Kinect actually has full body movement and it uses a camera to track your body movement. I am gonna say I prefer Kinect.
@jordanh777 Yes. But the eyetoy only had limited capabilities and minigames while the kinect is getting games like ryse, rise of nightmares, the gunstringer and star wars.
@ACWAirsoftChannel - Er, except Crysis 2 is multiformat (360, PS3 and PC) and Mortal Combat is multiplayer too (360, PS3). :)
@kenny6458 HOW IS HOLDING A REMOTE BETTER THAN USING YOUR BODY?! I don't get it.
@Lstar8D - Technology is about progress, Kinect is basically an enhanced EyeToy, PS Move is basically an enhanced Wiimote, and therefore just like all the tech we have in our homes right now, everyone is technically 'copying'. ;-)
How about we all agree that the good old controllors are the way forward with their easy to use thumbsticks and triggers.
hey, can you reduce the volume please, it was cracking my ears damn.
@gingka237 its the beginning of move too...
if your neighbors stare in your window i suggest you move
@DarkSlay9r Well, i have bot of them. And now i'm stuck with a dillema, which one should i play? xdddd
@DeadlyLizard98 Ownage Pranks reference?
The only thing kinect is going to be used for is fitness and family games... move is already used in killzone 3 and will be used in resistance 3.
wii?
im getting a kinect!!!
In fact, the first console to use a camera was the PS2. The Eye Toy didn't really kick off, but it's just proof that Sony was doing it years before Microsoft.
@Idet1000 - Then how are gamers playing Crysis 2 in 3D on the 360? :-)
@canofsoupify umm they created the modern controller.
@MugiwaraJr tell that to my physics test
@DII117 - Except there are core games in development for the 360 that will uses both the 360 controller and Kinect together (google: 'Kinect hybrid'). Hence that isn't something that needs to wait for the next-gen Xbox, it will be happening this gen with Kinect on the 360. Forza 4 is an example of Kinect being used with controller and driving wheel, however there are numerous games in development that will take that hybrid concept much further. And both MS and Sony are working on new consoles.
Hey the kinect copyed of the ps2 it had the eye toy wich is excactly like kinect so xbox is takin a step backwards
@caiomarcello83 playstation move was before kinect
@aColombianGamer Theres actually alot of games that support move
Why do the top rated comments say the same thing and are from the same user?
somebody's trying to tell themselves which they think is better.
@Evilkiller467 actually it was in development before wii and isnt a copy of wii because it uses different tracking methods than wii
@Divisiblites702 At least i don't go through 1000 comments in order to find one you can't agree on and reply to it.
its your opinion on what console you like i prefer ps3
@UberSlebert plz tell me what world ur living in. minecraft will be for pc and pc only. i know Xperia handheld is getting but a console? really? yea like thats ever gonna happen XD
Having the 2 top comments say the same thing is one thing. Having both top comments say the same, and be written by the same guy, now thats crossing the line.
@CyclonicDeath actually you were at the top of all the comments when i saw this video lmao
@ACWAirsoftChannel Fail, PS2 had DVD player and 1080i first.
well the kinect and the move are made the same but used differently i mean if you look at it you basicly geting a wii extentin for popular systems. the move copied the wii and the kinect did the same only the made no controler
