Would you pick it up for PC? For Xbox? For both? I love the look of this controller, one of the better looking ones on the market, I'd love to see a fully spec'ed (like Apex 4) version of this product!
That is interesting. I have the 1st T4 Kaleid that came out. And I have been using it on my series X using the brook wingman adapter and it appears this one is the same as that one except it is no official Xbox controller and also the 1st has the clear plastic allowing you to see the motherboard which is pretty cool. This is the reason why I purchased it, and it does not have the trigger motors, of course. I also have the gamesir g7 se another official Xbox controller, and it appears the only difference between the g7 se and this new official Xbox T4 is the RGB lights and the Translucent housing. I watched your review on the apex 4, and I just got mine, and I must say it is my new number one go to controller. I like my G7 SE, and it was my go-to controller, but this apex 4 has a few more features. But like you said about other brands, the apex 4 does not have the feature like my G7 Se. Allowing you to change the maximum circle size of your outer stick rotation zone. But the fact that you can customize the joystick curve so much on the apex 4, I don’t miss that feature. I also like that the apex 4 has a bit of heft to it, in weight, just like my elite series 2 controller, gives it even more of a premium feel, imho. I have turned into a controller hoard. I have others that I have not mentioned. 😁

I came to the same conclusion as you with the G7 SE, though I don't have it, watching the specs sheet it seemed to be exactly as you said, thanks for the confirmation. You know, I had zero intention of covering controllers originally but even before I started making videos again, I always loved having different controllers to experience how I would feel using them. It all worked out in the end, and it's not "cheap" but there are far more expensive hobbies out there! Thanks for being here and glad to count you as someone for whom I make videos for! :)

Thanks for a great video ! Want a bit of help please 😅 I have the opportunity to buy either the Gamesir G7se or the new Kaleid for not that much of a difference in price points. Which should I go for ???

It all comes down to two things, aesthetics and face buttons. If you prefer membrane buttons, go G7se, if you prefer tactile, go Kaleid Xbox. If you don't care for face buttons, go for the one you find looks the best. If you don't care for buttons and looks, go for price! The rest is all the same basically! ;)
I have a gamesir se which i love, but it has a busted bumper and im out of the warranty frame. Is it worth going to the newer kaleid or just get another se? On xbox if that helps
@GameTechTalk

It can be as simple as getting the one you find looks best. The features difference is so slim that it could basically be considered the same product packaged differently. I’d say if you play competitive games and prefer fast reaction solutions, go Kaleid for the tactile face buttons. If you favor comfort and long-duration gaming sessions, go either Kaleid Flux or G7 SE for membrane buttons. I hope this helps!

@GameTechTalk thanks for the reply! I do play longer session, but like to be competitive. Think I'll lean towards the kaleid based on what you've said. Much appreciated, 100% giving you a follow and excited to see more content in the future
How long is the chord? I’d love to upgrade to this but I’m normally tied to wireless controllers thanks to couch gaming.

Can i get a nitro deck vs a few competitive items?? Can you suggest a better deck? Mine broke :(
@GameTechTalk
27 күн бұрын
I may have misunderstood, you bought a Nitro Deck, it broke and you're looking for something better right? If so, I'd recommend DOBE. Look them up on AliExpress. It's dirt cheap (price wise) in comparison, it basically is like a Nitro Deck and the quality is surprisingly great despite the low price point. The one problem is it is often sold out but you can buy a product on Amazon called the NEXIGO, it's basically the same thing. Cheers!
Can't 100% decide between this one and the OG T4 Kaleid. They are both so similar but I think I'm leaning towards this new one because I like the smoked out design better and all the clicky mechanical buttons it has. apparently the d pad is mechanical too
@GameTechTalk
26 күн бұрын
To make sure I don't create wrong expectations, according to GameSir, they are both tactile (d-pad and face buttons). With that said, tactile and mechanical do feel similar to some extent. With the d-pad, it's obvious that it is but with the face buttons, that "cushion" they advertise makes the keys feel extremely like what mechanical key do feel like so who knows, it might just be what it is but they decided to call it differently? But for sure, the D-pad does not feel at all the same.

@@GameTechTalk yeah that sounds correct. They are very similar controllers which is weird that they released this new one. Either way I’ll most likely be going with the new one but I had ordered the old one a few days ago before I found out about this new one so I’ll try them both out and return whichever I don’t like 👍 thanks

I'd go with the new one because I like rumble above all else so having it in triggers and grip with all the customization is a neat feature for such a low price point solution. It can also polls at 1000hz rivaling even the Flydigi Apex in terms of performance and reliability. The motion control, turbo and macro that the multi has is cool but not something I'd favor over the awesome rumble experience of the new one. Cheers!

@@GameTechTalk Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Do both controls feel the same (quality wise). I like the smoke colour plastic compared to the clear plastic. However, another reviewer said the LB / RB buttons felt cheaper on the newer kaleid. Thanks

@GameTechTalk

Not really to be honest. You lose the white look and swappable faceplate of G7 SE and you trade it for a see-through black RGB controller. And then you go from membrane facebuttons on G7 SE to cushioned tactile on the Kaleid (non-Flux). That's really the one real difference. I don't think it warrants a change unless you absolutely love the look but otherwise, it's basically the same product repackaged differently.

Which is better this one or the Nova lite?
@GameTechTalk
Ай бұрын
From a pure technical point of view, the T4 Kaleid is better. But really, it comes down to what your priorities are. Nova Lite doesn't have analog triggers, but it has HD rumble. Nova Lite does have battery and wireless support, T4 Kaleid doesn't. T4 Kaleid (Xbox) works on Xbox, whereas Nova Lite works on Nintendo Switch. (they both work on PC) So in the end, it's more grey than black and white but one thing for sure, they both are kick ass controllers!

They make great stuff. GameSir came out the door guns blazing with their original X2 controller and they fell flat a couple of times but they have since transformed into a great company and one that I constantly peek out at to see what else they got brewing. Thanks for engaging and if I may ask, what 2 controllers do you have of them?

@GameTechTalk
27 күн бұрын
Yeah that "cushioned" in their marketing does seem to be why those face buttons feel so great. By the way, if you did the 1000hz fix, that might be why your 3.5mm jack doesn't work. They say those features are not supposed to be used when using 1000hz. If you haven't, I'd suggest visiting the GameSir discord, your product may have an issue or need a firmware update. Thanks for engaging!
The response curve on the sticks are not good at all. Also, of the two controllers I have, neither xbox code worked, and neither turn on with the xbox. You need to unplug it and plug it back in after powering on the console. Customer support is also completely useless.

Hey dude! Do you happen to know if KontrolFreeks thumb caps fit on this? Also would you recommend this controller to someone with big hands? Edit: If you are wondering the same thing, I found that PlayStation KontrolFreeks do fit this controller! Below are just my updates as I came to this conclusion. Update: KontrolFreek thumb caps do not fit. I doubt any would fit on this controller because the edges of the thumb sticks are very thick. Seems like a nice controller. I just like my thumb caps so unfortunately gonna return and look for something else. I don't discredit the controller just because of that though. Update 2: I was informed that PS4/PS5 KontrolFreeks may fit the Kaleid. I ordered some that should arrive today. I will update this comment a third and final time with my findings. Update 3: They worked! PlayStation KontrolFreeks do fit this controller! The right one went on perfectly fine but the left one gave me a little trouble at first as it was kind of snug. Overall I'm satisfied with the fit though. 👍

I don't own specific stick caps from that brand but as it is standardized, I am 100% sure it does. The sticks on there are the same radius size as the one on the original Xbox controller so I don't see any reason for your caps not to work.

Yoo, I play with a controller on PC and all these 1000hz controllers to hit the market in the last 6 months are blowing my mind. This could be a real pro controller! Since leaving behind my third elite 2 due to stick drift, I've just been overclocking my duel sense. The consistency is so nice that I'm waiting for something to hit all the marks before I buy something else but it's crazy that for $50, this thing almost does it! #4buttongang

If you're aching for something that will check most of the "pro-like" boxes but don't feel like spending the high-ticket, it's tough to do much better than the GS Kaleid (or alts like G7Se) to be honest. And you can go for mechanical or membrane depending on the model you go for so it's really about grabbing it the way you want first, rather than getting one 3-5 times the price that can be customized. The accompanying app is pretty cool too. I think the main question to ask yourself is if you are ok with being wired, if you are, it's definitely a great solution to enter that 1000hz territory, do keep in mind that it requires extra software and that the feature will not carry over to Xbox but you mentioned PC so you should be fine. Cheers!

what is turbo and macro
@GameTechTalk
23 күн бұрын
Turbo is a function that pushes a button at super fast speed, example, you hold A for 3 seconds and it pushes the button 60 times by itself. Macro is a chain of commands that are executed at the push of a single button, imagine pressing A and it would do three hadoukens back to back on its own. Cheers!

Did anyone tried the 1000 hz on it ? Did it work perfectly ? Please let me know
@GameTechTalk
Ай бұрын
I have not but it's pretty documented online that people are having incredible performance with it. The process to unlock 1000hz is a bit disconnected from the "frictionless" experience of just plugging a controller in but the performance and stability is #1 in ranking, even above the Apex 4, at least in stability and how close it consistently hits close to 1000hz. If you are specifically after that, buy with confidence, it'll perform once you apply the firmware patch but just know one thing, this is only true for PC, this feature will NOT WORK on Xbox. I might do it later today, if I do, I'll respond back on this post, cheers!
