Hey Brad, thank you for an honest review of what's in your hand. These are available of UK shelves and it's the first time we've been able to walk into a store and get a pro level/half dart blaster off the shelf. For £35 (inc taxes) I think it's a great product.

I own this plaster and it is an amazing Blaster it does take a k-25 spring upgrade nicely and that'll get you 200 FPS we just a simple modification

Thanks for the review. All the reviews seem to have different opinions on what the drawbacks are but all seem to agree that for $30 (£35 uk) its fantastic value. And for us in the UK it is a game changer. Being able to walk in to a shop and pick up a 130 fps short dart blaster is awsome!
Love the Longshot references at the beginning. Hell yeah this thing is AWESOME. Great video dude! 🔥💥🔫

In my view the negatives are all cancelled out by the fact it's available off the shelf in the UK. There is massive premium to pay on any of the alternatives if you're lucky enough to find them on sale at all.

Btw you can get dart zone stuff relatively easily from the netherlands through blastertime, but I do understand that having to ship them in for a higher price is a big downside
Thanks for you unbiased review. I was getting similar numbers with my Longshot and was very happy as it will Nerf Night safe. I did pickup a second one to mod after watching WalcomS7's upgrade video. Getting a 200FPS+ blaster for under $50 is nothing to sneeze at.

I'm VERY excited for the mod project pictures on their way to the discord servers because of this thing!! Incredible capability at an even better price, and fantastic ergo!
Really excited for this one, great review!
It's a great entry level pro blaster but the best bit is, it's a great, cheap blaster to get into modding. I mean it's a £30 blaster here in the UK, if you're not worried about increasing the FPS then just throwing a metal plunger tube/ barrel and a cheap worker scar in it solve 99% of the reliability issues. (The included scar is slightly too wide and barely makes any contact with the darts)
Great review as always! I've been looking for this one! Can't wait to get my hands on it!
I just went and picked one of these up today. Honestly I really like it so far. Great review and thank you !
American Foam. Thanks for the honest review. Hard to beat for the price. Keep up the great work.
As much as I like bullpups as a Stargate fan, I'm honestly torn about this. Had it come out before the Nexus, I probably would have been all over this, but I'm not sure there's a place in my arsenal for this alongside the Nexus, especially when most of my battles involve little kids and it's already very easy to put a 70fps spring in that blaster. I guess I'll wait and see what the community does with this blaster and let much more enthusiastic foam-flingers be early adopters of this blaster.
Definitely needs tuning there Brad. Mines hitting 140 reliably oob. I've seen a lot of variation on fps in review, so maybe x-shot need to up their qc a little bit.

I definitely plan on opening it up tonight and tinkering and doing an update video soon.
As always I appreciate your sincerity and detailed review, but since this blaster might be my first ever pro grade blaster (if Zuru decides to sell them here in Brazil), I'm still pretty excited about it!
I love the nostalgia of the old intro song.

Boy you can really hear the creakiness of the plastic here, good review brad!
@AmericanFoam

Yeah. It’s not quite as good as Nerf or DZ plastic, but it’s not too bad either. It does raise the question of durability under increased springloads over time though.
A guy I know just got 1 and the darts wouldn't leave the barrel or go 20 ft. After closer inspection it had a cracked plunger tube out of the box. Great video 👍

I've heard a few reports of cracked plunger tubes on Nerf discords, guess it's a small but not insignificant issue. Maybe it's because the plunger tube is exposed so it cracks during shipping or on shelves if people drop it?
@Stevenwave-
Жыл бұрын
@@cr4shmycar118 Yeah you're spot on I'd say. It's happening in shipping due to the open-faced box. You can actually rotate the PT in the blaster, in store, so people really need to be doing a check to see if they're picking up an undamaged one.
Mine was getting about 120-130 with Worker Gen 3+, but 150-160fps with Dart Zone bamboo darts. Also seems to like Adventure Force short darts and embers, both were 130-145 or so.
Eh, for 30 bucks, can't have Harrier expectations. Thank you for the video and your opinion!
Your videos are great even when you don’t like a feature or product etc you also tend to stay positive but realistic. I’ll send ya stuff lol
Thanks for the review. I watched other reviews and the weakness of this blaster is accuraccy. But difficult to beat price. Also WalcomS7 made some crazy mod and manage to work the accuracy issue. For $30, anyone that only played with Nerf/Hasbro will be surprise. Recommended as the 1rst pro weapon for anyone and the one you can share with anyone. People will ignore your Nexus or Trion vs this skin color. 😂
Cool
I think we've pretty much reached peak high-performance pump-action springer. It's $30, it performs great, it comes with basic rifling. With a better SCAR barrel built in it'll be pretty hard to beat. Hopefully everyone else gives up on the field and moves on to making high-performance store bought half dart flywheelers. The DZP MK3 was alright, but it needs a cheaper younger brother that's semi-auto only.

I 100% get what you mean. I don’t think it’s the next big thing at all. Maybe outside of the Us market. But any money saved will probably need to be put into mods.
I like a more critical review. The blaster has some good new features but lacks in quality which leads to inconsistancies. If only they put in 10$ of extra material.
I hear the front grip can be corrected with a longer spring than it comes with, but I personally wondered if a little epoxy might stiffen the bottom rail a bit.
@Stevenwave-
Жыл бұрын
What spring? It's the priming arm that wraps around everything to prime, and sticks out the bottom that's the weak link here. Cause it's all hollowed out, like T bar or U channel, rather than solid.

@@Essrayle Ah yeah like, a longer plunger spring? Thought maybe that's what ya meant. Guessing the theory is it'd add some tension to the priming handle, keep it from rattling at all. In the end that'd just solve an annoyance thing, it's how durable all that part is that probs limits these. Valtek spoke about it in his look at it. There's a screenshot he included that shows the internals. Priming arm's all hollowed out unfortunately.

I'm glad to see this review actually. I bought this blaster after reading up on it and seeing walcoms review. I have had the same experience as you have with this blaster, picked it up yesterday and have put about 150 rounds through it testing it on long and short darts using dart zone darts, and am glad I'm not the only one having the experience I did. Been debating on returning for another as well but I'm leaning more to modifying it first to see what it'll do 🤔.

Very cool to basically see a budget Lynx, as this is exactly a copy of it down to the thumb mag release. I’m curious with what the performance with Dart Zone half darts is. I’m fairly certain, with this being cheaper, it has a heightened experience of the random drop off’s with FPS that the Lynx is also known for. Either way, it’s crazy to see it offered at this price point.
Can't wait to see Drac or Xavier modding it - and we would REALLY need a "budget mod" guide - with biggest impacts/most efficient mods listed.
@FelixstoweFoamForge
Жыл бұрын
I stuck a STOCK retaliator spring in mine, fitted inside the spring it came with easily. Pushed performance up to 190-200fps. Anyone who's modded a Hasbro springer, will have some of those springs, so it's essentially a free upgrade. And no way is an extra 2.5kg going to break this thing. Like most X-shot stuff, the catch mech is rather strong.
I think the exciting thing about this blaster is more-so from people outside of the US. We can't get Dart Zone blasters off the shelves (at decent prices anyway)
@AmericanFoam
Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I always forget about Zuru’s influence internationally. I’m always glad to see more competitive options available outside the US and at such a good price point.
Great real-world review. Yeah you're comparing it to things like the harrier, but in real world terms that's the point of comparison we all have because it's a pro-level blaster. I'd like to see serious comparisons to the Nexus family or Aeon as they're the closest things we've had to it before. Also these things have been modded, and with something as simple as a barrel and K25 spring they pick up big-time
Your jaded and spoilt 😆 We are all massive X Shot fans in UK now...The O rings look very dry on one here, may be part of inconsistencies, teflon tape, silicone grease? Missed out the jam door, and the 3 screw spring change😊 .
When this is in the us I’m gonna get it I love the bullpop style plus this would be my best dart blaster I don’t own by nerf!!!

I’m glad there are options like this out there this is an amazing price point. But for me personally I would rather have something a bit more polished out of the box and also understand there is a price tag associated with it.
They sell em at a Canadian Tire in Canada if anyone is looking for them
I am getting one prob compare it to my game face prime just based off of advertised fps but prob mod the zuru out of the box also
Might not be the best out there (which would be hard with things like the sabre m20 and the harrier kicking around) but it's the first pro fps bullpup that's not 3d printed, it's more widely available than any of the others (Europe ,for instance, has no dart zone on toy shelves), there's paint on both sides (and what a paintjob it is, zuru is easily leading in blaster painting), and that price is insane. Also did you see the new dart zone outlaw coming soon?
@AmericanFoam
Жыл бұрын
A lot of great points. Especially the international availability. I forgot how big Zuru is sometimes. And yeah, I’m super excited for the Outlaw.
Can it use regular Nerf mags? Yeah, I get that short darts are way better, but it could be useful in situations like in HvZ where you ran out of darts and someone is willing to share. Also, X-Shot always had their own proprietary mags. I just want to know if they finally decided to make their mags cross-compatible with everything else.

I really don't think you need to disparage other content creators as if they're being dishonest. The data from every other KZreadr I've seen is pretty similar to yours, they just aren't humble bragging about their collections while talking about the blaster itself and are not talking about how it compares to things way above its price range. It's not worth telling you to shut up over, but you can stand to be a little humble and realistic about it. It's a $30 blaster, You get what you pay for. In this instance you're trading a little bit of build quality and consistency for maximum performance you wouldn't normally get at that price range.

@@AmericanFoam say what you want, but comparing your review to others as being "not as positive as other KZreadrs" is disparaging. Whether you intend it that way or not, this kind of comparison implies the positivity of other reviews is somehow disingenuous. Your note about not receiving free products anymore at the start of the video also implies some level of spite about it. If you bought a blaster yourself that's all we need to do; viewers knowing you are (allegedly) blacklisted from review samples does nothing for us but cast unnecessary doubt on anyone who does receive review samples. It's a case of saying too much being misleading, kind of like labeling a juice as having "no added sugar”. That doesn't mean it's actually a healthy option, but it does imply that it might be, which is why companies do it, but it's just a little deceptive. Your way of communicating has the same effect whether or not that was the intention.

If all you got out of my comment is that I'm trying to pick a fight that just makes you seem a wee bit defensive for no apparent reason. Deflecting to an unrelated topic also doesn't look good.
