Radiation therapy student- finishing first year. This was super helpful, thanks for publishing this!
This video was so helpful. I’m a second year student and I’m at the point where I’m preparing for the registry. This video helped me clear up some things I was confused on, and your explanations were fantastic! I also really enjoyed your sense of humor and anecdotes; they kept me engaged and thinking critically. This channel was recommended to me by a peer, and now I’m going to be doing the same thing!

I was hoping to see the pictures you are giving explanation on..
My Physic professor did not explain even a portion of this to us. Great analogy and explanation! Btw, that's a nice rainbow :D

Thank you so much. I was lost in the class because the slides and how my professor explained didn't clear as your explanation. Please keep making more videos because you are helping a lot of students out there!🙏🙏🙏

Thank you! I'm putting together a studio NOW! for new videos. Stay tuned.
I needed this
Much better explanation that my physic teacher. Thank you so much!
Thank ya so much man, It really helped me lot. Love from India ❤
What is the source for the diagram at 6:20? The text isn't clear
how i can get the book?pdf?
Thanks this is very helpful however I believe that there are many ways in which we can get rid of or reduce the ripples in single phase rectification simply using decoupling capacitors along with inductors as low pass filters is there a reason why they're not used here?

They may be... that is a question for engineers. This is a video for imaging technologists.
Thank you for your video, it’s really awesome! I wanted to ask, what textbook are your students using? My class is using the Bushong Physics book (so the Simplified Electrical Circuit Diagram you’re using for this video I have in my textbook & it’s also in the 7th edition of the Mosby’s Comprehensive Review).

Great question! Yeah, I use Bushong a little, but this lecture is based more on Quinn Carroll Radiography in the Digital Age
i think there is a small error on how the rectifying diodes are drawn on the mA meter, apart from that great video
What's the textbook name, please.

an some one help me with the name of txt book please anyone please help
Send me types of x ray generator plzzz
The ma should be in the high voltage circuit, if I’m not mistaken

mA is all over the map. The mA selector is at the operator console (low voltage). The mA meter is in the high voltage section, and the filament circuit (controlled by the mA meter) is best thought of as separate from the high voltage section because we're using a step down transformer.
Good video but there are several technical issues. Transformers step up or step down voltage and not power. Hydroelectric generators don't slow down and give fewer cycles when the water level is low. Auto transformers are not self inducting. The focal spot selector transformer is not drawn correctly. It would need to be two separate transformers. The mA meter diodes are not drawn correctly and the ground symbol is not right. The high voltage diodes are not drawn right. The main difference between an auto transformer and a two winding transformer is the two winding one can be used as an isolation transformer. The filament transformer could be just 1 to 1 windings. Not step up or step down. But the primary side is in the low voltage circuit and the secondary is in the high voltage circuit. So there is between 50KV and 150KV between the primary and secondary sides even though the secondary is only applying about 20v to the filaments. Europe uses 50 hertz and 240 volts. The higher voltage would damage your US appliance and not the 50 hertz. Three phase power is not "slightly" out of phase, it is 120 degrees and 240 degrees out of phase. Battery powered portables do not create the high voltage with a 150,000 volt battery. They use about a 300v battery, which powers a converter to change it to AC, which powers a high voltage transformer, which is then rectified to dc to run the x-ray tube. The AC from the converter is at a high frequency so the transformer can be fairly small. So high frequency ripple. I remember calling it photo timing in the late '70s and early '80s and I am still alive. Diodes allow current to flow in only one direction and not power. Thank you. From a now retired, former medical x-ray machine repair engineer.

Why is this video not playing
Good
You talk way too much about nothing on the slides you show on the screen. -1/10
