Agreed. Tug Master is pretty good too but I like this better. It's more precise.

What is the audio in the background, the flight attendant giving instructions? Sound so nice!

Doesn't it conflict with IXEG´s own pushback? How to you remove IXEG's? I have IXEG's pusback on my system and better pushback does not work.

Nevermind Captain K-Man, I updated Better Pushback to vs 0.45 and it seemed to fix it.

I use the paid version of X-Camera ($5). Very powerful camera system.

The aircraft lines show the general position the plane is going to be. If it gets stuck try using your mouse wheel to rotate the plane marker. That should free it up to move anywhere on the screen again.

Great video! I use old classic birds as the DC3 & Ford Tri-Motor. Do you know if in real aiport operations those kind of bird would use a tug truck as the one at "Better Push Back"? thanks again for showing this to us.

I don't recall ever seeing their vehicles getting pushed by vehicles. Chances are, the plugin will work though. If it can push back a C172 it can handle anything.

That is the Autogate Plugin. The airport itself has to have been setup to use the Autogate Plugin.

hey for better pushback im getting this error saying error generating audio messgaes please re install better pusback ive done that around7 to 8 times and makes no difference having to use the shitty xplane defualt one instead anyone have a fix???

Nice Video....As a long time X-Plane user I assume it goes into the Plugins folder. But if I'm new to X-Plane I wouldn't know where to put it. The download doesn't have any installation instructions....or on the website

The BetterPushBack1.07 folder goes in your Resources/Plugin folder.

The Alpha is available for download now from the link in the description. It's freeware at present. If it gets robust enough I'd slap down some money. Would be great to see this plugin expanded into something like GSX from FSX/P3D

Well go snag it off X-Plane.org. :) It made it originally for the PMDG 737-800 on P3D but I remade it for the IXEG 737-300. Just search for Frozen in the downloads section.

did see it there already yeah , to bad im "only" flying the zibo and x737 version. maybe should start checking out the IXEG. how is that one framerate wise, I assume its good for multi system setup as well ? TNX !

I fly the IXEG 737 the most often. Zibo is nice and an 800 but systems simulation is lacking (though catching up). IXEG is the most complete heavy iron simulation for X-Plane in my opinion. Frames are really good on my 5 year old system. The soundFX are very nice too.

Autogate Plugin and this is KLIT that I converted from FSX and put in Autogate Jetways so they link up with my aircraft. I made an entire tutorial video on how to do this.

Do you know any other websites that are not x plane .org so I can have a better selection to download planes

That is Little Rock Arkansas. It is a payware scenery I converted from FSX to X-Plane. :)

What this plugin needs is different tug options e.g. the larger sized push truck that most airliners use. This truck is more used for regional jets.

X-Plane Aviation I have plans for more tugs, but they take a lot of time to model. Actually, if you fancy a challenge, you can contribute tug models yourself, BP supports a pluggable system where it auto-selects the appropriate tug for your aircraft. My priority was initially to have something suitable for an A320 (since that's what the plugin is primarily for) and the Goldhofer AST-3F 210 that's currently in the plugin can handle anything from an E-Jet up to a 767 (or max MTOW 220t).

Flight Sim For Real Not sure I understand what you mean by "have to be". If you mean that it's necessary for the plugin to function at all, then the answer is "no". However, if you mean to say whether I would accept such a contribution, the answer is clearly "yes". If I just wanted something that pushes the aircraft around, I wouldn't have had to bother with 3D modeling at all, the push algorithm doesn't depend on there being a 3D tug model at all. As for "a certain way to animate it", just use normal X-Plane OBJ animations, using whatever favorite authoring tool you prefer. I'm using Blender and the xplane2blender plugin. I model the tug, organize the object hierarchy so everything is correctly affected by motion, animate everything, bind datarefs to the animations (let me know if you need al ist), UV map all textures, paint all textures and export the model. Of course it doesn't all work in one go, there's a lot of back-and-forth. I model a part, export, check in the sim, animate a part, export, check in the sim, etc. It takes about a week to do a tug model. Currently working on the AST-1X to handle all the wide body aircraft. If you need a stopgap measure to have BP push a large aircraft around NOW, there is a small tweak in a config file you can make to have the AST-3F push you around. Or just wait until I have the AST-1X finished.

Some aircraft are not 100% compatible with the plugin yet. I am not sure if that is one of them. It is an issue with the aircraft's datarefs not wanting to give up control of the nosewheel steering system to the plugin if I read the bug report correctly. I would toss out another bug report just to make sure it is covered.

If there is already a push back plan for that airport you need to first delete it using the DELETE key. The plugin remembers airports you have done a push back plan for in the past.

Mmmmm.. strange. This is one of the easiest plugins to install. You just put the BetterPushBack folder in your Plugins folder and it should appear in your plugins menu and in your Keyboard short cut setup screen. It works for MOST planes.

No. Not a free one anyway. Ground Services Extreme (GSX) is your pushback simulation go to for P3D/FSX.

The entire BetterPushBack folder goes in your Resources/Plugins folder. Copy the the entire folder into your plugins directory from the ZIP file.

Just go to the downloads section and find an airplane you want to try out and unpack the ZIP file into the Aircraft folder in your X-Plane 11 directory. Payware aircraft are the same. Buy it, and unpack it to the Aircraft directory making sure to follow any special instructions that come with the aircraft. I highly recommend you read the X-Plane 11 manual on adding aircraft and custom scenery at the least.

The airport must have Autogates installed. To call an Autogate to you the engines must be off and the parking brake set. That's it.

Strange. This is one of the easiest plugins to install. Just drop the BetterPushBack folder into the Resources/Plugins folder and the next time you start it should be there. If it is not I would look in your log.txt file for any error messages regarding BetterPushBack plugin failing to initialize.

It won't let me choose an area anywhere near the aircraft. It is completely off the screen. Disappointing because this plugin looks great.

I use it with my Mac and have no issues at all. It works wonderfully.

Nice best I've seen for X-Plane, but it still is no where near as functional as GSX is for FSX/P3D. For example GSX will call out deicers if weather warrants. You don't need to preset up route, it just does it, and if you want a custom route you can do override that, and it will remember it for that gate anytime you use it. The Marshaler walks out with the tug and makes the appropriate connections to the plane. To be fair, you say this is a WIP, so maybe this will ultimately be able to do that before official release. Not to mention all the preflight functions GSX offers, like catering, boarding baggage loading fueling, with full animation.

Yep. But for X-Plane, this is the best and the PUSH part, I actually prefer this method over GSX's. I like being in control of where the tug goes instead of being at the mercy of an AFCAD file that may or may not be good. I would love to see THIS plugin combined with GSX.

tf51d BP also memorizes the route used. The only difference is it simply doesn't come with a prepared routing database, because frankly I don't have the time to create one. In the future I might implement some scenery detection so BP figures out where the taxi lines are and offers to place you on one. The marshaller animation is another possibility, but I'm terrible at animating humans (the GSX marshaller also looks terribly stiff) and if I can't do it right, I'd rather not do it at all. As for ground handling equipment, there's another plugin for X-Plane that already does that (Ground Handling Deluxe) and duplicating its functionality is not high on my priority list.

There should be BetterPushback folder in your Resources/Plugins folder. You will know if it is working if you go into your keyboard command setup and see it in the list of plugins you can assign keyboard shortcuts too. I highly recommend doing this so you don't have to click on the Plugins menu at the top and find it in the list of plugins you have installed.

Of course he should know where to go.. once he's instructed, just like in real life. The pilot generally tells the tow which way he needs his nose to be pointing after pushback in real life based upon his departure needs. This simulators you telling the tow driver where you need to be pushed. So the hype is real. Best push back software on any platform in my opinion.
