加班這文化是日本人發明的, 初級工業社會不但有輪班制, 還有不定期的加班. 最後乾脆成為固定加班制度. 大家沒事做不許下班, 要等老闆走了才可下班. 老闆知道大家都在等, 但他無動於衷. 也不多給錢. 他怕員工五點下班後去間兼第二差. 日本曾經發生過勞死, 因為從業員喝太多補肝劑. 心臟衰竭. 後來台灣韓國香港陸續跟進. 世界各採購商都喜歡亞洲人的勤勞, 交貨準時. 保全員有上280小時的. 一般是240小時. 不打瞌睡的都住院了. 如果你想上8小時班, 老闆想要開除你. 因為照勞基法精神, 他要多聘請員工. 而且你也要減薪. 他不想多雇勞工, 你也不想減薪, 所以如你們意吧. 窮人失去生命品質, 富人得到生活品質.

如果一份工作需要经常加班，我就会怀疑自己的能力是不是配得上这个工作。新加坡是一个讲效率的国家，如果我的能力配不上我的职位，那工作就是低效的。所以那种情况下，我会开始面试更轻松的工作，从更低做起，一步一步成长，才是最有效率的。

当然，我的这种观念只适用于，因为工作量大，做不完而加班的情况。如果是因为出各种问题，需要紧急支持，救火，这不会让我反思自己的能力。

+1 我也是同意如果一份工要我加班加到没日没夜那真的是因为我的能力还匹配不上这份工，导致效率低下

MOM has a Overtime Exemption scheme. Once approved, employees can work more than 12 hours a day (up to a maximum of 14 hours).

这个世界有各种不同的工作，应该拒绝的是无意义和无回报的加班，当你有自己热爱的事业，相比于完成事情的成就感和回报，有时加班并不是一件难受的事情。

我做的餐馆加班还不给钱，还嫌人家做慢，说员工＂吃钱＂。

I am not sure which group of people has been interviewed for the statistics. Many people around even clients have good life in work with good salaries especially in educatonal institutions. I know newbies in big four may need to work overnight during the peak period. Junior and Senior staff in accounting firm which has listed companies as clients, need to do overtime for anything relating to reporting to SGX. That's why I feel statistics in Singapore need to be done according to size of companies, local or international companies and nature of business, etc. If not, people in Singapore may think whether there is really multiverse.

如果员工需要加班,公司就要审视是不是工作量或者是工作效率的问题.如果是员工效率没问题,那就是工作量太大,正常八小时工时不足以应付,那公司就应该增派人手,不然就等同于剥削员工利益.员工和雇主本就是供需关系,说到底还是利益在作祟.

@@cac1504 其实平衡工作生活是一回事，个人能力能不能让自己平衡工作和生活，又是另外一回事。 比如消防员要紧急回召，这个加班就和个人能力没关系。但比如老板布置我平时十天能干完的让我一周干完，那这就涉及到个人能力问题。

我所在的公司，很多同事每周工作90+小时

Wow!!! warehousing and retail services does not belong to human, therefore are made to work more than 44hrs or even longer than 60hrs and worse paid less than 1800sgd with less than 6 hrs of sleep a day, need to wake up at 5am or earlier to reach workplace before 8am...office worker still get to gym at 8am end work at 6pm without to work on weekends and Public holiday still KPKB!!!

Try working in the govt sector then. Higher pay and same amount of working hours. When I was in MOF, was working 9am to 9pm. Weekend also need to read and reply emails, left the shit hole after 2 years!

What those in the warehousing sector from 8am till 9pm or even 11pm, some even till 1am, retail services those start at 8am and end 11pm…they are all working 5 to 6 days straight,..their basic just less than 2000 compare to you.@@arsenal_84

Not all white collars can enjoy this kind of lifestyle. What u described is only the minority luckily ones. Most white collars nowadays also OT like crazy with overwheling mental stress because the tasks assigned are complicated with tight deadlines

要看公司。 有些步伐和强度就是比其他公司快。 之前有听到马来西亚来工作的，他说新加坡比在马来西亚的工作强度大三倍，不管是步伐还是量。就像人家两周完成一个项目，新加坡三个项目一起经行还能交出成绩。 若工资是和付出是成对比的，那还OK。若被剥削，那就换吧。

@@cac1504 自己。我曾经上班9小时，但兼客服，要接客户的电话，是早上6点和半夜12点的那种。基本没好好休息。要和上司沟通， 画界线。 不然24小时都不够。当画好界限，你其实发现好的客户也会尊重。

只要你有电脑，有电邮， 无论你在公司早走或晚走，回到家里还要继续做。每一个电邮，就是一份工作。有些老板不睡觉，晚上发电邮要求员工明天给他。
