Right, but I think the direct quote was "do not take Doom's collusion as indifference to flagrant warcrimes" which I think means he is ok with it (collusion) but the country Latveria is formally "not in support of my actions as an individual" or be associated with Doom's personal affairs of villainy or whatever. Basically a useless but symbolic disclaimer as if it would cease UN/NATO from going in to penalize the nation-state. He is evil, not stupid as leader of his country.

Nightcrawler teleporting like that is a nod to the movie X-Men: Apocalypse as the same sort of visual is done when teleporting the Professor from pyramid to jet and we have seen the dimension that he goes through in X-Men: Evolution (not canon of course).

I kind of want the same writers for the life action. They get X-Men pretty pretty well. The visuals. OMG

It was amazing to see Nightcrawler not only get his dual swords back when fighting but he UPGRADED to triple swords with his tail!

It's not bad...but it definitely pales in comparison to Xmen:TAS or X97 as far tone and depth, dialog but I know it's popular among its fan base. And as far as that scene with Kurt in Evolution. It showed the audience, what Kurt is seeing, but it does not show first person perspective like how x97 did it.

Grace mentioned not seeing the dimension Kurt jumps though depicted, so I thought I’d share. As far as what they do in this show, I think the most similar reference I’ve seen was in X-men: Apocalypse (just done much less successfully).

X-Men Evolution had a whole episode exploring how Kurt teleports to another dimension

Nightcrawlers teleportation scene reminded me of how they showed “Apparation” in the Harry Potter movies (where you literally are stretched and pulled through space/time to teleport)

OMG. The whole “Thanos was right”. Always bothered me. This is clearly meant for Magneto and fit so much better

X men 97. Better than it ever was. Also the cameos were out of this world. We got Dr. DOOM. Looking forward to seeing the next two episodes .

The creative team are handling the X-men in such a way that I’m hopeful that we’ll get a great MCU adaptation.

Magneto was right & You don’t mess with The Summers were my favorite scenes in this episode!

LOVED this episode but i would be lying if i said i didn’t notice Storms absence!! it would’ve been perfect if she had appeared in more than just one single frame.

I always come to KZread after watching X-men and Grace by far does the best breakdowns of each episode. Whether it’s analyzing story beats or easter eggs, her commentary is so refreshing as it’s coming from the prospective of not only a cinematic fan but also a true X-men aficionado

The only place where we've traveled through Nightcrawlers teleportation is XMEN EVOLUTION. Which actually, Wolverine ALSO travels with Kurt. Forge, I believe, built a device to slow Kurt down and doing so they see hostiles in the dimension, and Wolverine travels with him for protection.

Well making Mutants basically slaves to humans is actually why Bastion might be the best X-Men villain to date. Even though he wasn’t as prominent action wise, his motivations and disturbing views on mutants were very effective. I do kinda wish they made Sinister the main antagonist of the season because both Sinister and Bastion are great villains and Bastion could’ve been a villain in the 2nd season

I don't get why Nathaniel Essex (Mr Sinister) would cooperate with Bastion in the first place, or the other way around. Mr Sinister is basically also a mutant himself.... and he's supposed to be like obedient towards En Sabah Nur (Apocalypse) who is like the ultimate mutant? So it really makes no sense

Didn't we see inside Nightcrawler's teleporting in X-Men Evolution? I vaguely remember an episode that showed that. It was cool here nonetheless

I can't help but get super hyped anytime I get to see Nightcrawler in action. His powers are so dope and cinematic, and his backstory is just fascinating. It's criminal how underutilized he has been until now.

Well not having Nightcrawler or Collossus in the original series, and instead having Jubilee and Gambit was always a really weird divergence from the comics. Same thing with not having Psylocke or Kitty Pryde. Jubilee and Gambit are very minor characters compared to those.

I thought the episode did an amazing job of humanizing Bastion. How much choice did or does he really have? He never had a chance? There was always Nimrod. Bastion makes more sense to me now after watching this episode. Fight scenes were incredible as were the quiet character moments that this show so wonderfully balanced. I’m so looking forward to next week!

I also think he has a point, if regular humans are losing their jobs and so on because of mutants being better, why wouldn't they become resentful over it? Like it shows mutants really CAN even accidentally cause human suffering

The human Sentinels does remind me of Reign of the Superman where civilians volunteered to get superpowers.

This episode was sooooooo good. I was nervous with the first few episodes honestly.

This episode was incredible. I was super surprise with every turn. The way I felt about this episode was like from Succession one of special episodes from the last season. No spoilers.

Marvel gotta bring Demayo back. That boy taking a lot of risks and it’s paying off.

9:23 Keep in mind what type of people the writers are. She is totally Mystique, bit we won't learn of it until it has the most dramatic impact. Edit: Thinking about it further, it makes even more sense for her to be Mystique. Nightcrawler specifically mentioned her abandoning him for being "too mutant", so maybe she wants to be human so badly she took that identity and is doing everything not to lose it? Especially when she was begging Magnus's forgiveness. We haven't seen her in the show yet, so we don't actually know what type of character she is. She is not guaranteed to be a ride-or-die for mutants like she is in the movies Or maybe the writers will subvert expectations and she is just a human woman that will end up dead by the end of the series. We'll see.

I'm guessing they're trying to limit her abilities because otherwise she just solves every situation herself They did that maybe TOO hard in the original but in this version of the show Jean is definitely able to do SOME stuff at least But it's probably like they want to distinguish between "regular" Jean Grey versus "the Phoenix" where she really could do basically almost anything

We’ve seen what it’s like for Nightcrawler to teleport on X-men evolution.

That is Mystic and when Cable referred to a person in the future told him about bastion and his location, i was like yea that's Mystic.

I knew the Jubilee - Sunspot flying joke was coming, but it still made me laugh.

The Nightcrawler fight scene reminded me of a cutscene in the video game Ultimate Alliance where he took on a bunch of Doombots. Go watch that and you'll see why

Xmen Apocalypse had a cool shot of how Nightcrawler teleports when he rescued Xavier, as well as an episode of Xmen Evolution, he got to actually go to that dimension too

Val IS Mystique. The point is that she’s working with Bastion (semi) willingly. This would explain why the Genosha sentinel didn’t attack her. Mystique has always aligned herself with who she believes will be the winning party. From Magneto to Apocalypse, Mystique always chooses survival. It’s part of what makes her story tragic. Apparently making it to the future as slaves is better than dying. That and the allure of getting preferential treatment for submitting willingly and early.

I think Val will turn out to be Mystique. Her monologue at the end was filled with her basically identifying as a mutant. Mystique seems like the most logical choice for that reveal.

8:25 if it was in the MCU most of the X-Men would probably be in there 50s. As this is in the 90s. Plus it’s shown characters like Doctor Doom, who haven’t debuted in MCU yet.

I think in X-Men Evolution they showed Kurt’s teleportation like he was moving through a dimension made covered in fire and brimstone. I like this better… less… hellish. But also I kind of like Kurt seeming like a demon.

Yeah it's a tricky thing like are they going with the comics canon that Kurt is from Mystique and Destiny, or that Kurt is actually a demonish creature from Azazel. In some ways making Kurt an actual demon defeats his characterization where it's like you're not meant to assume or judge someone just on how they appear.

beau sidelining storm and bishop makes me think he hates writing black characters. Also, his take on sunspot feels like a self-insert coming out of the closet story, instead of the cool origin story he had in the comic book, losing his girlfriend and whatnot

When Bastion heard Magneto was freed, he already said "too little too late" so he's already set another plan in motion.. he obviously kept him alive to use his magnetism to his advantage.. maybe incorporating that into new technology? I guess we'll find out. As for storm well, they're saving the best till last ;) two omega level mutants together? It's about to go offf !
