***** yup X-Men at its best imo under Claremont is as much dealing wtih drama and agnst as it is soap heroics if not more. Its different,dysfunctional people coming together for often different reasons and forming a family of sorts. Its often close knit,messy but is probably the strongest thing they will ever know probably one of the more appealing aspects of the xmen to me over other marvel teams.

Yeah, I love Gambit and Rogue. They have way more personality than Cyclops and Jean, especially in this series. Their love seems stronger as Rogue is reluctant to let it show. She doesn't want to hurt Gambit because of her mutant powers. Gambit doesn't seem to care though.

Because some brilliant minds at 20th CF thought it would be good idea to have Gambit as an overglorified cameo in a Wolverine Origin film set in the 70s, which make it less likely for the future films to have him appear in a relationship with Rogue, who'd be at the very least 20 years younger than him.

I love how Gambit is well aware that Rogue could knock him into the sun if she wanted to, but still proceeds to do things like catch her when she’s falling or carry her when she’s hurt. And also drive her crazy with his jokes and flirtation.

Ben Quick If I remember correctly, Rogue was tricked by Mystique, who raised her and envisioned a great future for her as an all powerful leader of mutants, into fighting Ms. Marvel so Rogue would get her powers. It ended up with Ms Marvel unconscious and about to fall to her death. Rogue grabbed her so she wouldn't die and by the time she was able to let go, Ms. Marvel was in a coma and Rogue had a fully fleshed copy of Ms Marvel in her head that was constantly trying to take her body over. Rogue ended up with super strength, flight, and near invulnerability. She ended up with the X-men because Ms Marvel kept taking over her body/mind and she needed the Prof's help caging her.

And the best part is it was because the Miss Marvel comics were tanking and they needed a way to get rid of her. So Rogue was born.

@@huskygold5319 That's not true exactly. Today its seen that the series got cancelled just as the writer, Chris Claremont, was really getting a handle on the writing, which is a shame. It was Calremont years later who would eventually save Ms Marvel from editorial oblivion and bring her back as a leading character.

I wish marvel kept this Gambit. The newer cartoons are only showing one side to him and everyone thinks that is to only side. They never show him as an actual X-Men only as a lowlife who loves money and himself. Also the comics are also starting to go down that road. I love Gambit, he's somewhat supportive, kind, respectable, and is not a man whore.Let's remember this Gambit, the one everyone should have grown up watching.

***** well I like the films a lot. The movie showed her before she sucks ms marvels powers. I think Anna and Shawn had chemistry actually. But neither were given much screentime later on. It was all about wolverine! The first three films were better than the standalone or the reboot. Bryan just needed a better script written by actual fans. If they are going to do gambit and rogue, they need someone who looks like him and can act too. I wish they'd do them like they used to, but with a real storyline.

***** I think cyclops needed more lines. They made him seem week. In the cartoon he was a manly man LOL Bryan disliked last stand. IMO it was OK. But Bryan would've done a better job. Annoys me how he NOW came back for the reboot. I feel like the second one was the best because it did give more characters light. I want to see more nightcrawler. It annoys me how films are about remakes, CGI, reboots etc. It shouldn't be. Gambit isn't really like wolverine imo. The cartoon showed him being rough whereas gambit was more of a funny happy go lucky guy who did his job. I don't think they would've clashed if they found the right person. I don't like Taylor as gambit. I want to see someone like the cartoon gambit. Eyes look like Channing but personality is different. I loved nightcrawler in there ;/ I didn't like kitty and Bobby. I want to see jubilee too. I feel like the cartoon was darker and got people watching because it was for ALL and it showed everyone equally. I wish it had continued. Hulk and spiderman were good too

Didn't logan like Jean? I think hedoes show a softer side to him. I like Hugh as wolverine but he should have been more 'evil'. Gambit seems like he avoids fights to be honest. He tried to talk it out while wolverine would be like "come at me bastard". I can see Josh as gambit actually. Not Keanu lol he can't act for toffee as much as I do like him. Probably still better than Taylor. I can't understand how people can like Taylors version. No way! Depp is so overrated it is unbelievable. I liked anna but like I said, they showed rogue before she sucked ms marvels powers. I think Anna was ok. So was Ellen but only for the early days. If bryan does anything again he needs to recast some roles. If they get acting lessons they can stay LOL.. I loved evolution too. I don't know why people disliked it. I remember watching this and that all the time when I was younger. I find things to be very much dumbed down now. Marsden was ok as Cyclops but I think maybe brandon routh would have been better. He is underrated. He is more "manly" too. Cyclops wasn't meant to be a wimp!

Nothing against the Bobby/Rogue relationship but I would have liked to have seen this one in the movies.

Yes he is. Rogue didn't meet Mystique from a really long time. Rogue is an Avenger field commander who leads the team consisted of Deadpool and Quicksilver plus others. She is quite badass right now.

Fun Fact: The reason Storm speaks while using her powers is because of her ancestry. Storm is descended from a long line of powerful African witches with white hair and blue eyes. Because she was born a mutant her X gene greatly evolved her already innate mystical power thus producing the Omega level weather witch. As an homage to that the shows creators made her use regal speech as a form of spell casting to direct the energy of her powers. Technically they kiss 3 times. The first when rogue covers Gambit's mouth and kisses him through her hand, the second with Gambit passing out immediately, and the third where they finally get to kiss properly

One of the many things I loved about this series is that they changed the outfit on characters often :)

@@thewhoman3182 I think they had at least 4 different outfits but I'm not sure if that's considered often. There's the regular X-Men outfits, their casual wear, the formal clothes during the wedding and the winter ski outfits during the Nightcrawler episode

Gambit was the real Alpha of the bunch. Smooth Operator.

If you ask me, Gambit and Rogue make a perfect southern backwater couple. They just complement each other.

Say what you will. These two are meant for each other.

If they ever wanna get it on, Rogue should've kept those Genoshan collars. Problem solved.

This is actually a very good point. Gambit even literally gets the key that allows the Genoshan collars to be unlocked

My son and I are watching the X-Men movies. I had to come here to show him who Gambit and Rogue were. Miss watching this show after school with the family everyday to see what would happen.

After watching the 5th episode of X-Men 97, I will never see this video the same way again.

@@GigaChadh976 It got cancelled :( who knows when or if ever it will happen. Though I heard that the MCU have bought over the X-Men so maybe something will come soon

I always loved Gambit ❤️ he was my favorite mutant when I was growing up ! Still bummed he and Rogue never had even a cut scene together in the live actions .

Gambit sure seems to have persistent romantic advances towards Rogue. And I like that.

@ 5:52 I'm suprised they didn't jump on each other after they found out their powers didn't work. LOL Totally expected that. XD

I had the hots for both of them when I watched this series as a teen. Anna Paquin as Rogue was ...I have no words.. that was not Rogue.
