This how I loved my X-Files, an actual dark/dystopian/melancholic story, where two powerless people couldn't stop the inevitable dark reality, no matters what they do. The recent season 10 and 11 were funny, but missed completely what the essence of the X-Files series was. Maybe the 90's atmosphere ad to it also. To me, X-files doesn't work in the 2020's.
