It's definitely not a beginner CNC for personal use, but it's a good one to start with for commercial use. When it comes to 4x4 CNC machines, $10k isn't bad at all. It's also a good beginner one in regards to the program (Easel) since it's very easy to learn.

Is it fast?

I would say on average it's pretty quick! It does depend on the material and what bit size you're cutting with (say you're carving out detail work on a hard wood like maple with a 1/8" bit, you would definitely want the bit movement to be pretty slow so you don't snap it)

@@tmo6517 I get that haha Woodworking has been a hobby of mine for over 15 years and many of those years I dreamt of quitting my job to just go for it and I finally pulled the trigger last October and went full time. I will say, I would make sure you can get some clientele lined up before getting one of these as they do come at a hefty price of (around) $10,000. We pay roughly $250/month on a 3 year plan, so you want to make sure you can afford that payment (or dig into your own pocket when needed). I will say, the best part of having this machine is that if you use it correctly, it's like having another employee - It's nice that I can have it making cuts on one project while I work on another. So really, it just comes down to where you are financially and if you can take that on. Me and my business partner were working part time for our company (while working other full time jobs) when we officially started the LLC last May and we got some jobs under our belt before investing in the CNC machine in September. And side note: Another reason we like this CNC machine is that Inventables' customer service is incredible!

@@broadercustomwoodworks I think this is sound advice. I probably wouldn’t quit my full time job abruptly although I wish I could.😆And I don’t have 15 years experience- only a wing and a prayer! I may start with something smaller and less expensive now so I agree. But I wish you guys all the success in the world... I’ll subscribe to check in on your progress. 😊

@@tmo6517 Hey, we all have to start somewhere!! My recommendation would be to start with some tool sets that include multiple tools (Ryobi has some good ones that are great for hobbyists and people that are wanting to get into woodworking without breaking the bank). Many of my first tools were either bought used or were Ryobi - that was good enough to get me started! Over time as those tools made me money I've been able to slowly swap them out with higher quality tools. If you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out (I definitely don't know everything, but I might know someone who knows the answer)! I wouldn't be where I'm at without asking other woodworkers much better than myself a million and one questions haha And thanks for subscribing!! That means a lot to us!
