And yes, the price is stupid cheap right now. It was interesting the low bitrate issue you found. I also think Wyze needs to offer and option to reduce the heavy compression as if someone is moving or walking the video becomes basically useless for identification. I smell content :)

Thank you, I appreciate it. Yes, wyze uses high compression which they really don’t need to because it records anyways in the microSD card.

I haven’t found a smart security cameras that is perfect. After trying for years Arlo, Nest, Kasa, Reolink and Eufy I believe Wyze is the most affordable and best overall for most users. I currently have 20+ cameras from Wyze in my farm and I am happy with perfomance and amount of camera choices I get from Wyze. I pay $99 per year for unlimited cameras and I think it’s a great value. One great advise I can share is stay away from Arlo

When the V1 FLC came out I was hopeful and put it in my back yard. Unlike my Ring FLC I was disappointed to find I could not automate the use of the floodlights. I can only turn on the lights in the app and not part of the rest of my smart home. Wyze is one of those "you get what you pay for" kind of products now.

Not being able to add an additional camera is a deal breaker for me. Was hoping they would've carried that feature over to this one since they skipped it with the Pro.

Agree, I'm a wyze supporter and have owned a dozen of theyre products,mainly due to affordability and have and to become quite familiar with modifications to theyre cameras voiding warranties so repairs I all do myself. But it's paid off with way better lenses in all of them that have much better clarity and ability to acually see a license plate number from my living room window, and much more clear facial images from across the road where I keep an eye on my kid playing with neighbor kids. But the need to be able to add additional cameras is so helpful making them basically 360 degrees if you want. It's the whole thing why the og cameras are pretty cool..least I feel. Ide mod it to fit my needs tho. Just wouldn't have the features on the app tho same as others you can add to

when he said "i bet if you have the ring flood light cam you wouldnt have this footage" i felt that one in my soul.. i had Ring cameras all over my house and was in the process of switching to Eufy.. on NewYear day a bullet came thru my back door Ring caught literally nothing Eufy caught everything

Hoping nobody got hurt. Yes, that is one limitation of Ring, it only records when there is motion.

Great price and usefulness as a floodlight, but the same Wyze bitrate issue for me is a no go. Thanks for the thorough review!

Thats disappointing they didn't keep the secondary usb port for this floodlight. I use it with my OG telephoto cam and it helped several of my neighbors out having both cams give a complete picture of stuff going on. (V1 floodlight for the general coverage details and the telephoto for the zoomed in, high detail image.) Amazing to think the og telephoto cams been out foolr a year now..

Hi there, can the device camera be moved from front facing to 90 degree viewpoint as it will be mounted on the side versus the top of a building

Would love a review of the Tp Link C720 Floodlight Camera Doesn't seem to be any around.

I was thinking of installing this on the pole barn, facing the house. It would be about 80 ft from the WiFi router which is in the back of the house. Would I need to get a wifi repeater located closer to the camera to get a good connection?

Came here first, and you have one. Let’s see what you think. I just replaced by V1 with a Blink floodlight bc it wouldn’t connect anymore. Thank got they unfucked the pairing process. I wish they’d kept the extra USB port.

Would you prefer this over the Wyze floodlight pro model? I always hesitate when it comes to a newer generation, lower spec model vs an older generation, higher spec model. Are there any notable features that this new floodlight has that the pro didn't?

What's the maximum angle you can point the camera downward? Planning to install this on my side door area and I don't wish to see what my neighbours are having for lunch+dinner (their window is about 15ft)

Hey! It seems like the eufy siren delay issue got fixed after a firmware update, according to the forum. Mind checking if they truly fixed it? Could you also see if they added new tones instead of a beeping noise? Thank you.

I tested it and it opened up another issue. The siren now doesn't trigger if you set a delay but not reliably and worse is the base station arming is 15 seconds after the siren's delay. So when you set 15 second delay and when you arm the system. The homebase is not going to do its 15 second countdown until after 15 seconds. Total of 30 seconds. Also, the siren and the homebase siren will only go off for 30 seconds and turns off. They still need to work on this.

hi there, I got so much info from your youtube but right now i’m confused to find one for me. At the moment i’m using eufy and i’m looking another brand for front door from outside. Checkout the Reolink doorbell.

Seems like only 1080p cameras work with the free cam plus lite. None of their 2k camera work with cam plus lite.

what's the difference between the monthly camplus and the annual? Just the fact you pay monthly or all at once up front?

Sadly I think mine did a firmware update the other day and once again I had to do a full factory reset and set it all up again. I've reported this to Wyze support several times and seems no fix in site. So annoying and we're like why is it getting cold in the house only to discover it's offline and says Wyze on the screen.

Hi again! You mention 24 / 7 recording, is it directed to the cloud storage if there is no micro SD card? If so, how long is it kept and accessed in the cloud storage?

I am having trouble with mine. At night when I open the app and go to live view, the flood light comes on and can't be turned off. That sucks.

I want to put it in my boathouse and instead of buying a lamp there is want to use this. But when washing the boat i want to be able to turn it on to get some light in there

Yes, you will need a subscription for their AI detection and notifications. Without subscription, it will records all motion events or 24/7 and you will be notified of all motion with a notification cool off of 5 minutes.

I feel like I'm the lone nut that likes 2700k-3000k light color.... I was expecting better image quality from a 2k camera. Maybe the field of view is a lot bigger and that is hurting it.

Technically, the camera is usable without subscription because it records to the microSD card. If you want accurate notifications though then you will need a subscription for smart detection and notifications.
