The Bass player on this recording (Mr Charles Fambrough) was one of my Bass teachers. He use to be married to Stanley Clark's sister. He has two daughters who look like him and a son who looks like Stanley. He died a couple of years ago. They use to call him Broskee. He was a very nice and sharing person. RIP Brother Fambrough

Correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't this not an live-recording at "Bubba"'s club somewhere in Florida, around '80/'81? On alto, and music director, is Bobby Watson. Wynton was then part of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. This same line-up i saw in Holland in Feb/March '81 and it blew my mind. Absolutely one of the best live-gigs i've seen/been to. This incredible lively/improvisational/purely driven/inventive music seems, for me, nowadays "lost". I must add that Bobby Watson's arrangements were the best, in my opinion, off any Jazz Messengers times/line-ups. This was, by far, the most sublimely Jazz music of the highest order/pinnacle! Be proud and embrace this Jazz music of yours America. Safe-keep this art form, at all costs!
