I'm stunned that anybody would think spraying anything (except maybe a pressure washer) into that EGR would clean it.

There is a Wynns diesel cleaner that foams up and dissolves that carbon in minutes then you hose it off, your situation is extreme and needs to have the throttle body removed, soakee and scrubbed. Thats why a mechanic needs to get involved, if you maintained your vehicle regularly it couldn't possibly get this bad. I'm a very experienced mechanic and could fix that issue no problems, so yes you followed the instructions but the throttle body is not the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve.

Seemed to do the trick on my 1.6 hdi Berlingo (07) but wouldn't start while flagging EGR codes, got it started on Easy Start, once running and up to temperature 🌡, followed the instructions on can, now starts easily and no engine warning lights 😊

What I worry about most with these cleaners is what they do to the DPF

Sounds like a party whistle haha 🥳

It might get you put a jam if the valve is completely stuck. But for long term improvement I take it off and spray with carb/brake cleaner.

Agreed, carb cleaner is the best thing I've used when it comes to carbon deposits.

i think thats beyond spraying, it needs stripping and cleaned. had the same problem with my egr.

It worked on my e87 bmw. However it was nowhere near as caked on as yours is.

Take it off lol chuck it in a bucket of petrol boom its clean 😂😂I know your only testing the product. That engine being the pd engine is an easy EGR to take of the 1.6 Tdi is a pain in the ass to take of. My audi a4 b6 1.9 Tdi has an EGR fitted but its mapped out. Good video of the product though it shows that it does very little if anything 😂😂

I used this and my car got an emissions light and now kangaroos. My car is in a limp hom mode continually, I got an emiisions sign on MIL. I contacted Wynn's and firstly they asked how did I use the said same product. LIke I did not read the instructions! I told them exactly, and then they said send us the error codes, as most will know when a car goes into a limp home mode, someimes. I now have to have a new DPF, a new Turbo. DO NOT USE Wynns products, I used thier fuel injector (petrol) it did nothing, I used thier Dry Fuel and had to call the AA out who took me to a garage who drained and refilled the tank and purged the fuel system at a cost of £700, This time I need a new DPF, a New Turbo. Wynns will try anything to get out of a claim. I will never ever buy any of their rubbish producta and the company just tries to fob you off!

So that wyns egr is rubbish then,i always find it better to take it out and give it a proper good clean 👍👍👍

Spoiler alert : it doesn't work. No short cuts...you have to remove the EGR and clean it.
