My pump is now 25 years old. Now I can not start it. Plugs changed, ignition ok. I am stranded. Sitting for a visit here in Kenya and trying to get a new carburettor. Thanks for your vid. Makes me hope!

It's a good little pump. Quite a few people around here have them to use in remote cabins. Problems with carburetors a pretty common among all small engines with the way fuel is refined now days.

I'm building an off grid place in the Philippines, in a few months for my retirement, I was planning rainwater catchment then a friend told me I needed a pump to fill a tank from a spring from the lower part of my land which is drink water. Which I thought was a great idea. I looked around and the only thing I could find was a water pump with a 3-inch port, which is too big for the spring. I kept thinking there had to be something smaller than this that would last for a while. Then I found your video saying it was 10 years old, that comment was very helpful. Once again thanks for your help.

Good luck on your place, sounds like fun. We use mostly rain catchment systems here, ground water is too tannic, even most drilled wells have poor water. A lot of people have these pumps for getting water from one of the few potable streams when we go through dry spells. Build some kind of a box where you intend to get your water so you don't pick up sediment. Most of the bad stuff like giardia get picked up from the disturbed sediment( disturbance from the pump, heavy rain etc).

Thanks, I will keep the spring box in mind, I was also planning to set-up rainwater catchment. Haven't found a decent explanation on setting one up yet. Have you made a video on your rainwater system yet? I just ordered the pump last night should be here on Tuesday. Funny they make everything here in Asia but it is very hard to find.

Nothing wrong with having two sources of water. A big tank could come in handy in case of fire or drought. I just have gutters on my houses and run the down spouts into tanks. The one on the cabin we live in now is above ground, and elevated from the cabin floor about 4 feet so we can gravity feed to a degree, still use a cheap stainless steel pump for any pressure. It will still run water without power but not enough flow to run the propane instant water heater. I have a 10,000 gallon tank next to the house we're building, it will be buried to keep it from freezing, and we need a larger pump for it. In a camp I ran a few years ago we daisy changed several 50 gallon drums together on a platform and pumped water into it. That gave us enough gravity flow to run a water heater only running the pump to fill the barrels. I forget how high it was, 15 feet I think.

This is done easily with a short piece of nylon cord. Remove the spark plug and insert the cord I to the cylinder. Turn the impeller in the direction, the cord will stop the crankshaft turning allowing the impeller to be tightened. When satisfied, back it off and remove the cord. Reassemble the motor and pump and you should be ready to run. Might recommend Loctite for the impeller as well.

That is what I've been using mine for.I make bio diesel, the only problem was the rubber non-return valve in the pump failed and blocked the flow so I simply removed it and now it works fine.
