+AcidGlow Probably Savage, but my Top 5 would include B. Hart, Sting, Undertaker and probably The Rock. Nice vid but Crush (from Demolition) signature move is the Tilt A Whirl Backbreaker.

As far as I am concerned this is the greatest wrestling game of all time.

@@junsonofjack3740 Not really. This was a 4 player game. With regular matches and a kickass Royal Rumble mode on a huge cabinet. When you had 4 players playing this it was an event. No console even comes close. At a distant second I'd wrestlemania on Genesis.

Back when you went to the arcades and they had way better graphics than your nes or super nintendo. When dreamcast came out it made arcades kinda eh. You'd go for the social thing and be out and about, but the days of going to arcades went away, in America at least.

I usually play Earthquake and Warrior. Quake is the only one who has a splash and a continuing hold for finishers and warrior's flying clothesline is lethal.

Loved using Hogan as a kid when this game was in my local arcades, but I have a huge appreciation for Ted nothing is more satisfying then "putting you to sleep with my million dollar dream!" Even though technically that is a cobra clutch which is what Slaughter originally used, what the heck is Slaughters finisher in this? I know he was going for the Iraqi sympathizer at the time and I know he used the camel clutch, I don't recall him using that knuckle rub move he uses in the game

@@clivet3252 that was fun too lol I remember at a game con playing an original arcade machine I picked DiBiase and my friend picked Bossman we only had time for one match but I still made sure my friend got the pin he sadly didn't know how to do the Bossman slam lol

I played this when it hit arcades 32 years ago. I've played a lot of wrestling games since then - but none has ever been close to this one for enjoyment!

One of favorite old wrestling games. Mechanics were simple to learn.

Earthquakes finishing move was almost the only guaranteed finishing move in the game except the doomsday device

I think there was an extra move for Hulk Hogan where, when he's getting pinned, a contract appears with the words "That don't work for me, brother" on it. Hogan then kicks out of the pin attempt, mounts an implausible comeback, wins the match, and poses for ten minutes.

They should have made the hulk up apart of the game.

I think this is the only wrestling game that literally anyone can pick up and play and have a ton of fun. I wish they would port it to the Switch. The joycons would be perfect.

@@mickeyd8768 i bought retromainia for the switch.Never played this one but this game looks and plays better than retromainia.

I loved this in the arcades and wish I could own the machine. I remember 1 day just screwing around playing The Million Dollar man in the Royal Rumble mode and I got the top slot in score Eliminating 9 and winning. My second proudest moment in an arcade.

Yeah, would be great to own the arcade. I've just bought one of those pandora consoles and it's on there. Can't wait for it to arrive. It'll be the first game I play.

Demolition Crush's finisher was the tilt-a-whirl backbracker, not the neckbreaker. Warrior also had a flying shoulder tackle special move and Earthquake had a bearhug. (Best two wrestlers to pick in the game for these extra finishers)

Wasn’t in the game, sadly. I think that’s part of the reason LOD isn’t playable in the original arcade: the system would glitch if their finisher wasn’t done in the proper spot.

Thank God for MAME. I would have never again played this game if it weren’t for that.

@@ryanheckman4649 I'm actually not sure. I didn't play a ton of wrestling games, but I know the few I did play wouldn't allow it, such as the games on SNES, Genesis, and Sega CD at a minimum.

Tilt-o-whirl back breaker is Crush’s finisher. It’s in this game.

@Anthony B later on it was, I believe in 1993 as heel Crush then in 1996 as Jailbird Crush. In Demolition, he used the tilt a whirl back breaker.

Someone needs to tell WWE to recreate this game on ps4 and Xbox one with all the legends and current wrestlers on it. It will generate alot of profits from the old and young fans.

There's going to be a spiritual sequel called Retro Rumble Wrestling.

Quickest and easiest way to defeat the LOD. Use a starting man who uses a standard body slam for his first move (Hulk, Warrior, Earthquake, Bossman etc.) When the match begins lure Hawk (who will always start first) as close to the ropes as possible. Throw him out of the ring, immediately climb the turn buckle and jump. This will sometimes miss but more often than not you'll land it. Quickly pick up the steel steps and hit him as soon as he gets up. Pick up the steel steps again and repeat this as many times as possible as this does a ton of damage. Just don't take too long and be mindful of the 20 count. From here you can easily pin a drained hawk or you can sometimes win the match by count out if you can hurt him enough and get back in the ring before him. I've done this before starting the match on almost 0 life.

By far! ... Playing it at the arcade with 4-Players was truly what made the arcade special!

I just learned that Andre in the first game says “no one beats mega bucks”. I always thought he said “no one beats me, bwah!” Funny how both games had a messed up recording for the tag champs.

This game was awesome! Graphics were amongst the best of their time, and seeing our favourite WWF superstars performing their finishers was just amazing 👏🏽💪

forgot one special, Warrior has 3: Big Splash, Gorilla Press and Jumping Clothesline. The Jumping Clothesline is only active when an opponent is near death as well and you do it while running

No I think you you mean flying shoulder. Weird that all the modern games by 2k do not include it. They even get his gorilla press wrong, it’s a fireman’s carry into a press slam instead.

I swear that there must be some way to add finishers on the jamma because Demolition did the double beat down move on me once.

One of the most fun wrestling games ever. Always hoped a sequel was made with an expanded roster.

This was the 2nd arcade version. They did make another version for arcade with Undertaker,Heyman,Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon,Yokozuna, Doing the Clown. That game was really hard to play and they made it like Mortal kombat.

I’m just amazed that, for that time period, your tag partner enters the ring to stop the opposing team member from breaking the count.

The game deserved a sequal with possibly more playable characters from that era

There are a few moves wrong. Hawk uses the neck breaker, not a back breaker. Demolition don't have the Demolition Driver or whatever they called it. The Boss Man Slam isn't quite right.

I bought a pandoras box and this is on it. I love this thing. Jake Robert's and DiBiase are my favorites

This got me so hyped when back in the arcades!

Omg so many memories of being stuck watching small hockey stuffy brother in law played in but I was always playing this till I ran out of quarters

I'd luv this same game with updated rosters(preferably Attitude Era). Imagine the Rock, Booker T, Ric Flair, Austin, etc. Id buy that TODAY. Hell even add a Women's roster too.

Fun Fact - all of the characters in-ring outfits were patterned after the WWF Hasbro Action figures, as it was explained by the developers in an article I read years ago.

Man what an awesome game, kinda wish Savage wasn't "retired" at the time he should have been in this roster, I think him and Piper were the biggest omissions from this game

Lol the cobra clutch in this = an eye rake and hair pull. Such a great game though.

This is one of the best videos ever. Best team was Million Dollar Man + Big Boss Man. You could go for the submission very early on.

Ultimate Warrior and Ted Dibiosi was the best combination! They had the most moves. Crush was runner up because u could use him alone in royal rumble mode.

I don't remember the cobra clutch having anything to do with ramming your knuckle in someone's ear lol great game thou!

Major points for a tag finish, and slaughter has the generic head squeeze probably because debiase has essentially the same move

​@joe77andino Yes his finisher was the Cobra clutch, but that submission move was actually his finisher for a short while in 1990. I guess they decided to give him that move since DiBiase was already doing the clutch.

When I first saw this video game my mind was blown away.

Always enjoyed playing that game it was of the arcade games to go first

But the characters, Promos and story telling were TOP NOTCH. I could give 2 shits about Drew Mcintyre beating Brock for the title. Because we have seen Brock lose 100 times by now. But when Warrior beat Hogan at Mania 6 NOW THAT WAS AMAZING.

I remember first playing this and actually be able to do each guys finishing move! Just like real life god dam it it was real to me….!

That Ring is massive lol

The only wrestling videogame to have the Dogpile on the Rabbit pin where multiple wrestlers would stackcover themselves on the wrestler being pinned.

All these years and I never knew the doomsday device was in the game.

How does this game not have a straight port to Xbox Live/PSN already?! Criminal.

Warrior was by far the best character. He had Hawk's flying clothesline and and Animal's power press. They basically combined Hawk and Animals move's into the Ultimate Warrior. My and my uncle used to destroy everyone in the early 90s at the arcades with this game. We took turns being warrior, and the other one of us would be Dibiase or Mr. perfect. Incredible memories!

For Wrestlefest, it was Warrior. For WWF Super Stars, it was Savage for his flying clotheslines and Big Boss man so that Savage doesn't get Boss Slammed when attempting flying clotheslines.

0:10 crush finisher was backbreaker

First time I saw this and played it in the Arcade guess who I picked first? Mr. Perfect and Dibiase/Roberts! Had to execute that Perfect Plex!

My favorite Team was "Hulk Hogan" and "Ultimate Warrior". Love this game better than 2k games lol. I play every day on Emulator!

I was 7 when I first seen this game. It was at walmart. The sounds coming from the machine had me mesmerized before I actually seen it was a wrestling game. I had recently discovered wwf wrestling & that was my reason for making it through the week!😅 There wasn't much going on in '91 so going to my local video store & renting 2 WWF events on VHS was LIFE!! Oh.. & getting beef nachos from the cafe next door. Being a poor 90s kid was pretty cool. I could never afford to play this game much but when I did it kicked my ass so fast. The assholes who set it up surely put the difficulty on Hard AF to steal all your quarters. Luckily I was able to get a SNES but this game always held 1st place in my mind.

I used to rent the WWF special events from video stores and watch the WWF on Saturday. I also spent so much money playing this game with my friends. It was more fun when my friends and I learned to tape quarters on strings and we played for hours.

Demoltion Crush's signature wasn't a neckbreaker it was a tilt a whirl slam.

Don't think that I've ever seen the Perfect Plex executed like this. In any wrestling game. Smh

at 01:0p the move by sgt slaughter is called the wrong move. the cobra clutch is a standing arm/neck submission. not the atomic noogie they showed.
