By using the Create a Superstar faces combined with the matching attire parts, tattoos, and even profile pictures, you can create accurate and official characters that fit right into the WWF No Mercy roster. With all this being provided by the game, it makes you wonder why they weren't officially a part of the roster to begin with. The Big Show was cut as punishment as he had left the main roster (was also cut from WWF SmackDown! 2) and Raven was possibly just too late in development - So maybe the others were in the game but later removed in favour of newer stars who were featured more prominently on TV during the year 2000? The real bummer part about it is their theme song and entrance vid aren't in the game. I remember trying to create Big Show and ended up having to use one of the crappy generic themes that they programmed in for CAWs. Edit:. Gangrel I mean, not Big Show.

Gangrel, Headbangers, Mideon and Mean Street Posse were apparently meant to be unlocked when you completed the Game Boy Colour game of WWF No Mercy and used the transfer pak to link the game to the N64. As the Game Boy Colour Game was never released, they left the costumes in game for you to create.

Using an action replay code you can access the special storyline mode that was meant to be unlocked and which remains in No Mercy's code.

I will never forgive AKI for including these profile pictures in the game. As a dumb kid without internet, I thought these profile pictures meant that these characters were unlockable. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why these pictures were in the game, and never knowing how to unlock them.

Another thing that I hated was the fact that you saw more than four players on screen during the intro cinematic. More specifically, seeing them all at the entrance way. Yet another thing I tried figuring out how to accomplish a similar outcome. Eventually I gave up...😢

Nice nod to war zone with the pink mosh and blue thrasher! Kudos for remembering the mean street posses finishers!

One of the best things about No Mercy too was that virtually all of moves from previous games were included so it made making identical move sets from them even easier too. I loved getting a bit creative with the attires to create some WCW and ECW guys during the invasion stuff. I probably spent more time creating wrestlers on it than actually playing it.

Even better than that was using an action replay cart to hack it and bring back textures from previous AKI games like the NWO belt and WCW attires as well as the infamous barbed wire texture.

That's basically playing any wrestling game now. Hell, I didn't even get 2k23 because the creation suite was exactly the same as 2k22

Since your vpw2 edits are the gold standard above every other, I’ve kinda been waiting 5 years plus to see this video. ❤

I'm guessing guys with the profile pictures were intended to be full proper characters... None of them were used much as they were in 1999 so had to step back to make space for newer guys, especially when entrance music & titantron "videos" would have taken up precious storage space on the cart

1:12 It's been a looong time since I played, but I don't think I ever realised you could have tag team names appear at entrance. How do you do this? I'm going to have to fire it up and give it a go.

I've never been able to figure this out either. I've heard you have to edit the stable name but that doesn't work for me. I've tried cloning wrestlers, using only the CAW slots....no idea how this is done

Raven is a stretch. He had parts left over from the WCW game. Was he even in WWF when this was released?

Raven was in the WWF for two months before the game released, possible for them to add the parts knowing he was on his way or had just debuted, I guess.
