NXT was irrelevant like always, Night 1 was boring and Night 2 was amazing but 100% had the wrong ending! Low lights of the show were Knight vs AJ and Cody vs Roman because of the outcome! n1 was kinda js underwhelming outside of the IC title, the 6-pack, and the Women’s title match. (The Big Three vs. DC was fun too, same w the main event, js didn’t need to be 45 minutes, and made even less sense to be main event, after they used the stipulation like 4 times in the actual match, and I still think Bayley v Iyo should’ve been night 1 main event, it was the match of the weekend for me.) But I’m glad you had an amazing weekend! Would’ve killed to be there!

Thank you Triple H and Nick Khan for listening to the fans and making WWE fun to watch again. Wrestlemania 40 was a memorable event to watch. I still feel that Austin would’ve been a better fit than the Undertaker but wrestlemania wouldn’t felt right without having the deadman appear at the event. Like Michael Cole said earlier, “Dammit, I love professional wrestling.”

Honestly, I expected Austin too (like most), but when you think about it, it HAD to be Taker. They couldn't have any of the current roster take out Rock b/c he's the 'boss' now, and there would be Repercussions, so it had to be someone from Rock's Era.. someone Old School. Plus whoever takes Rock out has to then just.. leave. Nobody else is coming in to take THEM out, and They can't help Cody b/c then Cody didn't win clean. They can't stick around to celebrate, that takes away from the Cody/Roman story. Triple H could have come in and dealt with the Rock, but that would have lead to more storyline later, and taken the spotlight off Cody's moment. Austin could have come in and given Rock the Stunner everybody was expecting, but then that's just revisiting the Austin v Rock days, restarting an old feud instead of starting something new. They needed someone who could come in, take out the Rock, and disapear without a victory lap, and without future storyline Consequences that take the spotlight off of THIS story. They needed someone who could.. pardon the pun... BURY the past, rather than bring it back. There's really only one man who can do all that.. The Deadman.

This was definitely the most emotion I've ever felt as a wrestling fan.. There was too much emotion for me to process.. seeing a historical reign end that lasted 4 years of our lives.. and then seeing Paul Heyman hugging Roman Reigns at the stage.. Then hearing Samantha Irvin voice crack when announcing Cody as the winner, and then seeing Cody hand the title to his mom.. man.. how can u not shed a tear?

Yeah I didn’t feel emotional. Honestly while I don’t hate Cody or anything I don’t feel he’s had it any harder or is any more deserving than a lot of guys on the roster. I would have felt more for Sami or Jey or even Drew to be honest, they had a much better story than Cody did, which was a pretty selfish story when you think about it.

Seth not betraying Cody might personally be my favorite thing about this weekend because seth lost a lot this weekend and he still stood by Cody who was once his enemy but he stood by him till the end so that the bloodline and roman can be stopped like Seth woulda been justified in not helping Cody again after night 1 but even so he still was there for him at the end. I dont know if they'll team up in the future or if they'll be enemies again down the line but i feel like they bonded through all of this from that press conference to Night 2 of Wrestlemania was good stuff man.

I feel so sorry for Rollins. He lost last night at main event then tonight his world championship but still showed up at the end of the show to help and keep his promise that he made for Cody even if he is physically incapable and exhausted. He is the most underappreciated wrestler in pro-wrestling. That man can do whatever anyone asks him to do. He is such a great talent. Without him this story would never see an end. He literally was the shield for Cody as he promised to be. I think he should take some time off and pay attention to his health. This man had been the world champion for 316 and defended the championship 56 times in his reign which made him the true workhorse of the company. I am so happy for Cody. And Rollins continued to prove that he is a great character worker whether he is a heel or a face.

As much as we all wanted Stone Cold. Undertaker actually made the most sense, he lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33. And this wasn’t about The Rock. It was about Roman’s past coming to haunt him. Cena, Seth as the Shield & Undertaker, it was executed perfectly. Austin had no business being there. Glad he wasn’t.

Seriously, a character can have multiple reasons for doing something, it’s called nuance and multi-layered characters, The Undertaker has issues with Roman From 23-2, he has issues with Paul Heyman From him being the manager of both Brock and Roman, the two guys to beat Taker at WM, he has history with The Rock and Taker needs to take back his title as The Final Boss Of Wrestlemania.

Bringing out the shield Seth with a chair was a psychological strategy from Seth's end...The betrayal 10 years ago is what created the monster namely the Tribal chief...it is evindent from the way Roman literally went mad and got DQd at Royal Rumble in their one on one match...There was nothing that could end the Tribal chief unless it was the source that created him..the image of Seth in a Shield outfit with a chair in hand...When Seth and Cody lay there helpless Roman could've chosen Cody for the chair shot but instead he decided on finishing his story..hitting Seth with the "Plan B" attack..the chairshot. The psychological warfare costed the Tribal chief and Seth became the one to sacrifice it all to kill the monster he had created 10 years ago. If this isn't cinema I don't know what is.

Fuck it Cody and Seth made me tear up three times tonight. And credits to all the superstars this was indeed the biggest WrestleMania of all time. I think The Undertaker's involvement wasn't just about his WrestleMania match with Roman but also when it comes to WrestleMania The Undertaker (not The Rock) is the final boss.

The chair shot to Seth Rollins when Cody was right there is the most cinematic/poetic thing i have ever seen, which indeed cost the title.

Roman couldn't let Seth's betrayal go and it cost him everything 🥺🥺

I was a big WWE fan back during 2014 when the shield betrayal happened. I'm not so much of a fan nowadays, but seeing what's basically the end of the decade long storyline involving the shield feud with Roman and Seth is honestly super special.

The whole match depicts the end of an era. The greats from the Vince era coming out and Roman getting his closure from the shield betrayal and an aew wrestler getting a big moment like this which Vince probably would’ve never given. And then Triple H coming out at the end was the cherry on top. I love professional wrestling. Excited for this new era.

Nah the character work Drew is showing is immaculate even when he's not on the screen or in ring, Like he Quote tweeted about his in between match tweet and said "FUCK". Even If he lost the championship he still took a massive W. Can't Wait for Punk vs Drew(or a triple threat adding SETH ROLLINS into the feud)

One thing i noticed with cody vs reigns was every interruption lead to 1 more cross rhodes in the 3 combo. When jimmy interupted it was one, solo was two then after all the chaos he hit the third

It's not a complaint but I had really wished it was Stone Cold who came out instead of Taker, It just would've made more sense as The Rock's rival. That being said, the main event was an overbooked cinema masterpiece and had pretty much everything I had hoped for. It's gonna feel weird to see Roman without a title now :(

Taker is the final boss of wrestlemania but yeah Stone cold would have made sense

I think this mania had the best aura, stories leading in, matches & the pay off at the end than any other mania ever, felt like I just sat through somthing really special, truly a great time to be a wrestling fan

Been watching WWE since 1985 & tonight was the first time I shed a genuine tear. Cody deserves it so much! 👏

I've watched every single WrestleMania live since WrestleMania 3 (I was about 8 years old for #3). Roman Reigns may have not held the title the longest, but the result from combining the Bloodline story with the Cody Rhodes story was, "one of the best story lines in WWE history". The amount of detail and foreshadowing put into the final match created a beautiful masterpiece. To be alive to witness one of the greatest story lines of all time kind of makes me speechless. The best part of it all is the fact that the story might seem finished, but I strongly feel that there's several more chapters to be told. I can't wait to see the story continue post-wrestlemania.

Just wanted to say thank you Santi for this entire year as a content creator you got me back into wrestling. I stopped watching wrestling as a casual fan when I was a kid in high school. Last year I stumbled onto your TikTok account seeing you react to WM39. I started to watch RAW and Smackdown through your TikTok page and did that for several weeks before starting to watch the TV shows myself. Eventually I subscribed to WWE network and my very first PLE was summer slam 2023. This was my VERY FIRST Wrestlemania I ever watched and it was amazing. And the next day as soon as I could I watched your reviews. I followed your KZread channel as soon as you started it and watching your daily video has become a ritual for me. You do an amazing job and I think I’m not the only one who has you to thank for getting people to be interested in WWE and professional wrestling again!

What made this WM the best of all time are the emotions that they made us feel. Probably, looking at the in ring work, last year was better. But the emotions, what we felt..man, it was really cinema. Thanks to everyone involved in those nights!

I aint a Cody Fan But Cody Holding that Title and His Celebration Had me in tears

The final moments are even better if you consider that Reigns has the choice between picking the chair to hit Rollins and having his revenge OR taking the Rock's belt and striking Cody Rhodes with it to win just like him and The Rock did to win night 1. Him picking the chair in the first place told you everything you needed to know. Masterpiece.

I was there night 2.. Perfect. I cried ridiculously. On another note, at one point they were also singing "OHH PLEASE SHUT THE LIGHT OFF" and when they would turn them off they popped so hard it was incredible!

I called a cash in would happen from day one. But I would never EVER predict John Cena, Undertaker the Usos, Solo Sikoa and the Rock in one match.

I’ve always been a big critic but Now that it’s settled and the Roman reigns saga is over I gotta say my respect for Roman is at an all time high. We don’t have this incredible moment without him. Time will be very kind to his Reign as champion

I want everyone to thank the rock for getting involved, Cody cry babies for forcing Cody back in the main event, the rock again for giving us the final boss caracther that would bring back a dead man for him to be taken out, John cena , Seth rollings for shielding Cody , triple h for setting everything in motion for one of the biggest nights ever, basically what I’m trying to say is thank you Vince McMahon for leaving the company.

The biggest critique I have to say is them not having Austin’s glass hit instead of the undertaker it would’ve made even more sense and tied it even better together.

21 years ive been watching wrestling. In all of those 21 years, i have never been as locked in as i was last night. I used to only be locked in like that for undertaker matches so for him to pop up legit outta nowhere, was so poetic for me personally. Overall my favourite Wrestlemania EVER.

Was half expecting Seth with Kurt angle in shield gear to come out, but still was nice

Another thing, in the end what Cody did to counter Roman's spear, is exactly what Randy Orton does to counter the spear, a kick just when roman is about to launch. It was Cody was taking notes from Randy's experience who was his mentor at a point.

I aint gona lie, I sobbed at the end of this match, I am stoked that Cody won but my heart is heavy for Roman, he gave us an amazing 3.5 year run that should never ever be forgotten, he more than deserves his flowers, he brought me back to watching wrestling at a time when I so so so angry at WWE for the shit they gave us from 2014 - 2018, so thank you Roman is well deserved

As of Backlash, I will have been watching WWE for a year, and this has been hands down the most entertaining year of my life. Thank you Santi for helping make this year that much more entertaining. If KZread didn’t randomly recommend that best Royal Rumble moments and if WWE 2K22 wasn’t made free on PlayStation I probably wouldn’t have gotten into it. Funny how life works out sometimes. And also, AJ Styles new theme is fine, but his original theme is ICONIC!
