Sorry, but they puppetised the dude as soon as he got to the mainstream i.e. WWE like they do every dark skinned star there. Always gotta be having black dudes wearing the dress, being the class clown, or just getting humiliated some other way. R-Truth should have been much bigger than he was there.

@@SegaGentlemanquite the opposite. The first Black World heavyweight champion was Ron Simmons back in WCW, 1992, later followed up by Booker T, the Rock (if you wanna count him) and Mark Henry. The first black WWE champ would technically be the Rock in the 90s since he's half black, later followed up by Kofi Kingston in 2019 as he won the WWE World heavyweight championship (which was a fusion of both the WWE and WCW belt) then later Bobbly Lashley, then Big E.

Yeah. The why is because he didn't need it to get over. He IS over, and he did it without one of those shiny props that only mean anything to perpetuate a storyline. People put wayyyyy too much stock in wrestling belts. They aren't all that important unless they're needed to progress a storyline or get somebody over.

Neither were the main event attraction and mostly stuck to getting involved in the low-mid card, but everytime they come out and the crowd hears their voice they cheer and applaud. Athletes like r truth keep pro wrestling wild and fun. I’ll admit as a younger fan I didn’t really get him and thought he was just taking up time.
