2k22 had 50 weeks and after certain weeks for example week 35 or 40 the enjoyment starts losing I have 2k22 and 2k23 both and i like 25 weeks per season system more

MyGM has so much more depth than ever with talent scouts and contract duration and additional GMs like Million Dollar Man and it’s great to see Mr Regal back as a GM again. I rewinded it back and saw the tag team call out promos and training. I’m so pumped. 😊

Once they can solely focus on next gen, I expect HUGE differences and upgrades to the entire product. But, this is 2k too so I won’t hold my breath

Yeah, but whenever you ask somebody why they hate the class system, it turns out they have no idea how much of a weighting it has for match ratings. They seem to think it's much more important than it really is. Synergy bonuses only make up 12% of a match's rating, and the difference between (say) Bruiser vs Bruiser and Bruiser vs Specialist is, like, 3%. So even if you put fighters against fighters or bruisers against bruisers, you're only losing around 3% in the overall match rating. But you constantly see people rattling on as though it's the single most important element of a match rating. It isn't, remotely. Star popularity is by far the biggest factor. You can easily get 5 star matches with most combos. The only one that should really be avoided is giant-giant.

@@noahstapleton6414 It isn't necessary. Not remotely. Have you not tried building up a fighter-fighter rivalry, or bruiser-bruiser? I do them all the time, and can easily build up to a 5 star PLE rivalry conclusion match. (Also, cruiser-cruiser has a pretty good synergy rating anyway.)

You should be able to draft teams as one pick and if you want to break them up just make a rivalry against each other and vice versa

I like the assets adjustment.

I think this is a pretty big step much bigger than I would have guessed. MyGM was my main mode in 2k22 and did enjoy it but didn’t really play it much in 2k23 because it just felt like more of the same with very little improvements. I love the change from star to ring experience. It didn’t matter how well you were able to book a low level guy his stars would never improve so they wouldn’t be able to draw as much as a hall of famer. I also like the change from free agents to talent searching. While it was fun to see what random superstars are in the pool it’s better overall I’m able to search for what I need and be able to sign them. I also love how massive of a change they did to contracts. Instead of a base only signing either permanent, 5 week or 10 week you can chose and even see a lot more details. I wasn’t expecting trades to be more than just trading superstars. In the old games it was max 3 wrestlers you could put up to trade and I’m happy you can do a mix or match of 5 different slots plus on top of that money, so you can outright try and buy out a contract or put some more cash on top to see if the opponent would bite on a trade they wouldn’t normally make. Im glad they added more things to do in promos like being able to change classes so you don’t just have them face the same guys, FINALLY having tag team call outs it’s always hard to keep tag team stamina since you could only ever book them in matches. Overall I think they took a bigger step than I thought they were going to take. I hope for more wrestlers in a match even in the first GM mode they had up to 6 wrestlers why not just be able to book up to 8 so we can have more variety like 6/8 men tag matches, the chamber, war games

I hope they make the WCW and ECW graphics available in create an arena seeing as they arent doing much else with that mode

I might be overthinking things here, but I think they are purposely keeping GM Mode locked to four player matches, because that's the best way they see for us being able to get an Online GM mode in the future. But also, if you want to waste 6 peoples stamina for a match, more power to you. Stamina matters in GM mode 😂

Sounds like some good updates. I really hope they add in brand vs. brand matches like we saw in SDvsRAW GM modes, such as Elimination Chamber and Royal Rumble etc. Made it so much more fun with friends, IMO, when you could root for your guys vs. theirs in direct competition. Made the matches fun to watch. Beyond that, I really want to see brand customization, including the titles.

I’m hyped for GM Mode. My favorite from last year

GM Mode appears to be as close to perfect as possible. I love how much there is to do. The trades, the XP leveling up, the new promos, the new matches, the perk system, scouts and contracts, it’s VERY detailed! The *only* thing missing is custom shows and customs titles. Adding that would perfect this mode.

No cutscenes for promos, run in matches cannot be viewed it's only text, matches are still predicated on a weird paper rock scissors lizard spock rule which doesn't make sense. There should be more gm cut scenes with brand leaders doing things in between shows. Or an option for an active wrestler to run the show and all the complications that come with that. It wants to be a text only game but it also wants to replace universe mode....it's far far from perfect. Hey remember Brutus Beefcake? He beat Mr. Perfect at Wrestlemania 6

Managers should be able to be booked and picking any title to put on the show , cross brand ppvs etc

One thing I was desperate for was tag team callout promos, so glad to see that. I would love to see a heel/face turn option as an add on to a match similar to a run in, where a tag fighter could screw over their partner to break up the team and that sort of thing. I'd love to see stables and bigger PPV specific matches (MITB, royal rumble, chamber) but understand how it could be hard to make fit in the system, particularly the rumble. Overall sounds like a big step forward which is great. Hope they keep improving it each year rather than stagnating.

Interesting that not only the wrestlers class matter but also the popularity and ring levels which is gonna be hard to manage

Star popularity has ALWAYS been the most important element for match rating, since 2K22.

Gonna do a playthrough as ECW where I only use the gym and concert hall arenas and see what happens

Yea for tag team promos and for trades. Since I run with classic wrestler's tag teams are important. so the trades allow me to easily trade for one If I'm missing where as last year sometimes I never got the chance to get some bc the keeper system.

Wish draft & show logistics was in Universe mode that to me would make Universe way better

I never liked playing 2K's My Gm because of the classes. You make a main event of Roman Reigns vs John Cena ans you're going to get a 1 star rating but you substitute cena or roman for say Humberto Carrillo and you got a 5 star classic. I could be wrong but i don't remember having this issue in SVR 2007.

So let's imagine Cena was a Fighter instead, and compare the likely star ratings of the two matches, assuming no rivalries and no gimmicks, with both at base popularity. Cena Fighter vs Reigns Bruiser : Probably 3 star Cena Bruiser vs Reigns Bruiser : Probably 2.5 star

Long time wresting game fan Always love playing GM mode, play it more then any other, always hoping they have improved the mode. This looks positive but more needed for big fans of GM, good to see more lvoe given saying that. Thanks for the video content always great to watch :)

Yay a whole video for my gm mode

The class system has always been just one element of how well a match performs, accounting for at most 12.5% of the match rating. Typically the difference from having a higher synergy matchup and a lower synergy matchup is maybe half a star of rating. It's perfectly possible to put on a five star match between (say) two fighters, it's just slightly harder than doing the same from a fighter-bruiser matchup.

Good insight, Matt, but I'm not too keen on the matching class system. The older SVR games didn't have this. They used to have popularity/hometown boost to matches etc more freedom! Lol! But still good improvements!

Think about it some more. The key design problem is that you need the ratings to be rules-based otherwise it wouldn’t work as a management game. The key technical problem is that it’s hard to tell the game engine and AI to put on a match that lines up with a specific rating.

Bought when they first brought back my GM and was disappointed seems to be getting better but I still wanna be able to customize the draftable legends like SVR 2007 and draft my legends for the year.

We need to be able to change promo skills with custom draft rosters because I keep having to restart until custom cm punk has a 5/5 promo skill so it’s accurate

For the ECW Wonens champion, They could do the same thing with the WCW women's Champion from the beginning of 2K22 and have it look like the old Women's champion for the Attitude era

I wish they would add so you can choose what belts you want on your brand and also have a retro WWE

Any word on ability to spectate in gm mode, specifically all the matchs and computer gms? You couldn't watch backstage brawls, matches with interference or computer booked matches?

I was hoping there would be options to limit what kinds of matches you could have on a show. Last year I’m going against nxt and the cpu was booking hell in a cell matches on a regular Wednesday night. i could never get over like a 3 start match on easy with good wrestling but the other cpu’s was putting on 4 start matches

In regards to CAW how do you create a Giant class? The Giant/Big Show/Paul Wight and having difficult time making him a Giant.

There should be more competition between the brands. Like have an event where it's for example Raw vs Smackdown

Love improvements in my GM that mode be mode i play most though stuff i am hearing my faction improvements this year i may actually touch that mode this year have touched that mode in past because stars and attires being lock to that mode i have seen lot positive reports that may not be case this year if not i play it more this year as well but MY Gm my thing so that mode i play the most.
