WWE 2K22: 1 Simple Improvement That Could Make A BIG Difference! 🤩

Ойындар

We've already seen how WWE 2K22 features updates to the camera during entrances to provide more realistic visuals, therefore to compliment this, today we're taking a look at how a cinematic camera could be implemented during matches to further recreate the look and feel of a WWE match.
The cinematic camera is something that I would love to see added to the game to highlight specific moments in matches, as it helps to emphasis pivotal points such as pin falls, kcik outs, and wake up taunts.
This video features multiple examples of how the cinematic camera could work, as well as side by side comparisons with the current camera.
What do you think of the idea to add a cinematic camera to matches? Do you think this would be a good feature to implement in WWE 2K22?
Let me know what you think in the comments!

I always thought that they should had a selling type system where depending on the weight class, it will impact how the wrestler sells. For example if you do a ddt to a cruiserweight or a light heavyweight they will spike on their head while a heavyweight and super heavy weight will front bump

This is an absolute must and have been for a lot of years. Developers always say they try to recreate the product we watch on TV, but these games are horrendously static in comparison to WWE's camera work, and that's an essential part of the simulation. I highly doubt they will include something like this soon, but it would make such an incredible improvement...

Am I the only one that has always wanted the ref animations to change? I've always felt that they're too slow, and that they would benefit from being snappier and fluid like they are in real life. For example, to me it really takes away from big moments or spots when the ref always does that really slow animation to get on their hands and knees to count the pin, no matter how dramatic the move(s) that were done before. It would be great If we could get some animations where the ref quickly slides to the floor to count the pin after a big move or finisher, similarly to how it happens in real life.

I will say it was cool to see the cinematic camera angle take place especially from the crowd diving area. First you would see your player climbing in a normal camera angle then you would see him all the way up to the top and once you saw that you got a real good look at far he was from jumping off. Then just as soon as you jumped off the camera would go to cam looking up angle which was really cool to see. God I wish they would bring back cinematic camera angles in these moments once again

similar issue with all the wwe 2k series is the post match replays. like when you put effort in a 5 star long match with creative spots, the game just shows some random roll-ups and pin attempts during the match that are completely irrelevant. I would suggest that the game would just replay like final 3 moves before the pinfall or submission or any other type of match ending which would make a lot more sense as post match replay. the best solution would be an option to select what you want to be shown in the replays (just finisher attempts, pin attempts , submission attempts, foreign object use,...) which I am sure 2k wouldn't bother doing it but only showing the final 3 or 4 moves before the end of the match would be the easiest modification in game codes and a very positive impact in the player's experience.

Visual Concepts took on a huge workload for 2K20 and had to pump a game out quickly without Yukes. I think it's ok to be optimistic for 2K22 because it's their second try and they actually got clearance to skip a year to have extra time (about 6 extra months of development apparently). After 1 game under their belt and extra time they could develop a great entry in the series so we'll have to wait and see. If it's like 2K19 but better that would be great, followed by a debut on PS5/XBX for 2K23 with the next evolution of the engine perhaps next year.

Also, my god, the point system in Create-A-Superstar. That has to go! I know it won't anytime soon, but in the future they have to rethink that. I can barely put anything on my character before it maxes out. And the way in which items conflict with one another is simply ridiculous. Number one, there's far too many conflicts, and number two, three quarters of them don't make any sense. I have to remove my HAIR to put on that cape or jacket? REALLY!? So only bald people wear clothes, gotcha. Hell, the game once made me take off the EYELASHES of one of my female characters to put on a hat. EYELASHES! ARE YOU SERIOUS!? I know it's to avoid clipping, but I'd rather deal with some clipping than to be forced to make an entire roster of Stone Cold Steve Austins (not bashing Stone Cold), because the game won't let me put anything onto my character and I basically have to make them naked. As a creator, this has been my number one pet peeve in spite of all the nonsense I've had to deal with in this series.

This is a fantastic idea and you showcased it very well! I've been saying for years that A.I only matches should have an optional feature like this that could be almost always active (think like the GTA Cinematic camera). You showed that it could work as an option with Single Player matches too if activated in certain in scenarios.

I think that this idea could work but as mentioned it does have some downsides especially for people that tend to play together like Gore and Perkins. Since you can't see the opponent... well you can't see the opponent. So if you do play locally with people then this wouldn't work as they would have no idea where they are in relation to the player. This would improve the presentation though since it's been a really long time since finishers had something unique to them such as multiple replays, slowing down time or even stopping time for a 360 shot. What I think that they should do is look back at all the old games to see what they could incorporate. Proper ropebreaks for submissions, Sleeper hold minigames, different match start minigames, etc. You can look back to the Playstation 2 days and see features that make games far more realistic and enjoyable than today. You'd think the advancements of technology would make things better.

Yes this is great, I've had this in mind for years. Like u said it may be troublesome in multiplayer matches but it would help in single player so much. The hard camera isn't used as much in reality as it is in the games, also in the games the hard camera is too high. And in reality you'd be surprised how many camera angles are so close that you don't even see the mat in the shot. Also I've noticed when attending live events that the two ringside cameramen are stationed by the two lower ring posts and almost never leave their positions. Grounding two camera views from there as if they were actual cameramen would make a huge difference.

My concern about the pinfall, is a change in camera angle could take a player's focus away from the kick out minigame. But I think overall, applying these cameras and retooling the replay feature could work well together.

I'd like to see them get rid of the Star Rating and the VC System and actually make additional wrestlers, arenas, attires unlockable via in game modes instead of building up in game money and using that to buy the unlockables. The past few years I've just used the unlock everything option because who has time to play thousands of matches to build up enough VC Points to buy everything especially considering the small amount of VC you receive for 5 star matches.

Totally agree. Worked very well in HCTP but that also had bone crunching slams and slow motion at the point of impact. Personally you could possibly have all of it run in cinematic camera, the default just moves with the players from an angle that isn’t seen on the real show. It’s very doable, a PS2 can do it so…. I think that and fixing table matches are the two biggest things that need sorting
