@@glamosky They took one of the French Atlantic ports... I can't remember which one... And when the German garrison finally surrendered, pretty much the only buildings left standing in the town were the U-boat pens. The French would try demolishing them after the war, and failed. So they're still standing to this day. The port itself was a wreck and unusable, taking months to clear. After that bloody experience, they decided it was a waste of time trying to capture those ports so they just left them penned up and moved on.

You can do the pacific front, the italian front, sino - japanese war and then you may go back in time or in the future. Back in time, may be everything before ww2 for example ww1, while in the future you may do something like the korean war, or any of the proxy - wars in the cold war. Hitler didn't care, he even said it at the end in the bunker. 'The German people have proved weak and deserved to be wiped out', that was his Darwinian world view that only the strong race survived, that is why he initiated the "Nero Decree". As far as he was concerned, there was no future for Germany after he was gone, because they have proved weak and deserved to perish as nature intended. Why not fight the war to the end and gamble on things like the Ardennes, it didn't matter to him if he lost in May 1945 or August 1945, he was dead either way and he may as well go down fighting as long as the German people were willing to die for him and his regime.
