WW2 DOGFIGHT DIORAMA-/How to Make/DIY
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is my diorama of a dogfight scene from World War Two.
I used a plastic model kit from Revell and created a fight between a Spitfire Mk V
and a German Bf109-G10.
I created the sea from polystyrene foam, aluminum foils and acrylic colors/materials.
For the explosion I used a battery operated LED strip and cotton balls
which I painted with acrylic colors.
I hope you like this diorama and see you again soon.
All the best

This is awesome! And thank you so much for actually making a tutorial instead of just a sped-up version of the build with music in the background! I can't tell you how refreshing it is to have someone explaining what they do along the way. Love this!

Great work! I'm impressed that the Bf-109 can hold the Spitfire like that. One minor detail...the 109 does not have a 4-blade prop. Other than that, excellent work and inspiration.
@4THECRAFT

Thanks. Re propeler blade , I thought that when it turns very fast it gives the impression of more blades than the propeller actually has. Hope I am making sense
Your attention to detail is second to none! I have one suggestion to make your future dioramas a bit easier to accomplish. I noted that the wires you use are pretty thick. I believe you could use much thinner wire, since LEDs pull such little current. You could literally use wires almost as thin as human hair! Thus, you could drill smaller holes, and they will be much easier to conceal... This turned out incredible as usual!
@4THECRAFT
Жыл бұрын
Thanks. This was the thiner wire I could find in my local store and it was indeed a bit thick for the scale of the plane. I will try to find thiner wires on the web

Amazing work looks super good with led effect very realistic . I would have tilted the spitfires wing a little banking a bit more left turning opposite the out of control right bank of the BF 109 , really good ,like its flying through the smoke , be good to find a way to add more 3d water spray physics trailing the BF's right wing and back from start make it spray much higher even at start of water strike . Great work thank you for sharing .

Congratulazioni, Signore! This resulted in a far better display than I initially had anticipated. Eccellente! I have been contemplating displays rather similar to this. I aldo would employ 1:24th-, 1:32nd-, and 1:48-scale models for the far greater level of detail, as well as a couple 1:72nd-scale miniatures in the background, to create a forced perspective diorama. Your simulation of “smoke” and “flame” gives me a possible answer to a riddle on how one securely can support the largest replicas. One need only mask or obscure them! Grazie! Another approach I would use would be to borrow from motion picture production methods the Chapman Crane, wherein one obscures the cradling structure through 1) placing it behind the figure or object it holds in place, then 2) covering with clothing or other accoutrements germane to the presentation the fitted apparatus supporting the subject that remains in view. I also would motorise the propeller to create as realistic the effect as possible. I understand that one would need to substitute a duplicate propeller made of strong, resilient metal, as the polystyrene over time is likely to suffer wear from the stress of momentum. Again, a remarkable presentation!

Pretty nicely done. Like a few others said. You have a great eye for details. Do you mind me asking. Did you think about trying to just spray over the aluminum foil? For the water effect?
@4THECRAFT
Жыл бұрын
Thank you. If i understand correctly do you mean if I thought to spay paint first? No I always use primer first so that I ensure the paint will stick properly.
Nemá chybu 👌👏👍
It is very good, although I think the fire should have started in the engine. It's very hard for the wing to catch fire that much, even with the hydraulic oil. Still, it's very good, congratulations!
