This is honestly pretty astonishing how almost real to life this looked. I can only imagine a german fighter pilot in ww2 having his engine explode and lose all control of flight. Great build, nope to see similar air combat in the future.

Oh imagine of they had a laser tag on each gun and a separate charge! They could overlay a bf style plane outline and show each one as it's blown out. I assume they will also be gimbaling each gun point. It's gonna be epic!!

Martin Caidin wrote several books going over the history of WW2 aircraft, one of them was "Flying Forts", _LOTS_ of photos in all of them. One that I remember, partially because it was one of my dad's squadron, showed a 17 essentially cut in half through the fuselage and _STILL FLYING_ ! It made it all the way back to England, landed, and then broke in two when a hatch was opened.

@@OGRAINZBRAINZ They were using lasers to trigger the explosions, i.e. RC laser tag. I mean, I guess it could all be rigged anyway, but I also understand why they wouldn't want to show people how to put bombs in remote-controlled airplanes and put it on KZread. 🤷‍♂️

I'd like to see this done with several planes (like 4-20) like a whole war zone with AA on the ground aswell for both teams. That would be amazing but I bet the budget would be blown out of the water to make it. Love the vid!

Kinda realistic to the German jet program in 1945 running low a gas and ammo having to make short runs withe many planes just being shot in the back while landing or landed

BB does nearly no damage to these sorts of planes.

Don’t recommend relays for pyrotechnics as a rapid acceleration (thud from drop) can detonate something accidentally at the worst times

Used RC to ignite serious stuff 30 years ago in my childhood. That is fun.

Seeing the wing damage really made it real for me. This was pretty cool.

What you’re missing is sound effects of the guns firing. You should either dub some into your video in post production, or incorporate some tiny speakers into your planes. Also, I wasn’t crazy about reporting the position of the plane. That wasn’t fair and took away from the excitement for me personally.

easy. just use a normally closed realy inserted into the powerfeed to the motor. Then the relay cuts out the motor when hit and you can still use the servos to steer while gliding down... He talked about this like it was rocket science and it is just basic electronics...

This is awesome! My only suggestion would be do this again with maybe 6 planes so you have a squadron on each side! Maybe make some videos with each team practicing flight maneuvers together. Would just be amazing seeing a bunch of planes all in a dogfight!

Secondly they are building most of this stuff with sponsored videos meaning they have been funded specifically to do whatever they have in mind weather it be crashing or blowing up panes and such. Okay that was pretty cool, fairly unrealistic in terms of aerial combat tactics of WWII standing next to each other asking the enemy where are you and how fast are you going, but I understand the idea and it really looked cool. Try going on a head to head high speed pass engaging each other. You have enough space to launch from opposite ends of the field. Each pilot use a spotter as if that was your wingman (or RIO if you want to call them that), tactical engagement like real aerial combat. Maneuver into any position to gain a shot advantage (not the classic 6 O’clock). Position your hit sensors in four locations around the circumference of the fuselage and at the nose and tail, piggyback an independent smaller lightweight battery to control the sensors and mortar ignition. You are skilled enough pilots that you could engage in a dog fight using your “wingmen” to direct your movements to engage each other. I realize you are limited on battery power and flight time, position the mortar in the center under the canopy and blow the aircraft in half… just a suggestion. I have confidence in your engineering and flying skills to make this an epic dog fight.

The thing you mentioned about it being unrealistic that enemies talked to each other asking where they are. Well i dont Think foes would stand on the Ground with Remote controled cardboard model planes. Oh and did i mention that the so called “foes” are actualy friends! Pretty crazy, its like they did this for fun.

While painful watching a perfectly good plane getting wrecked, that was an awesome video! I suddenly have an urge to build a new plane, so the sole purpose of blowing it out of the sky!

MAD props to everyone involved in this project. This was super entertaining to watch, and honestly I could watch these kinds of battles over and over again. The camera angles were on point, ESPECIALLY the quad pilot following the ME 262 at the end! ((I saw the throttle control and inverting to keep the camera angle ;)

That was epic!! Great job guys! I did not expect this to be this awesome! The B17 idea I think would be even more epic! Y’all are doing such an amazing job with this amazing content. It’s videos like this that got me a 31 year old man into the rc hobby about 2 years ago and I can’t thank y’all enough! Keep up the good work!

That's a great concept but I think it could be improved upon using lasers and photo-receptors. Some kind of ground radar feedback for all pilots in the field to reference to would be cool too especially if there was a way to make signature blips or IDs. There could even be multiple POVs for pilots and gunners with pan & tilt. Keep going, the sky's the limit.

Its just a firework mortar, with the igniters that model rockets use. Plus all their crazy electronics stuff. So fun!

Over the last couple years it has given me a place where I can once again experience the kind of joy I thought was lost to childhood. So, thank you so much for what you are doing!

If y’all ever do this again, you should make it to where first hit sets off a small smoke ball.

2nd hit could light of a few fuses or a smoke bomb to make it even more awesome than this already is.

You could've tried to make it look like the Messerschmitt was allowed to win.

For a future Video can you put airsoft weapons to the planes? Have an epic air battle!
