WW1 RIA PICKAXE Restoration /Old tool back to work!
In this video I restore a Russian Imperial Army pickaxe that lay underground for over 100 years. This tool was found at the sites of fierce battles of the First World War.
My job was to clean the item, to do cold bluing and to make a wood pickaxe handle.
I also tried the wood handle coating product for the first time. This is a paint for leather products. It turns out that this is also an excellent product for painting a wooden handle and can be used instead of wood stain.
