Now get rid of trash Makee, Show Master Chief more with the Armor on/acts like the Better games, More Spartans, More Covenant Vehciles and creatures, Covenant that speak english and more colorful daytime city battles.

You know how Ackersons dad had dementia and was forgetting everything? If Ackerson is out in the proto gravemind then it would be a lot more poetic, because we’d have a scene of Ackerson being forced to forget everything just like his dad.

Who replaces Akinsons character arc on Earth then? He plays a huge role later. So they cant kill him. Yet, they did screw over Keys. So anything is possible in this corrupted halo timeline.

The blind guy showing up with a gun like "let me at emmm, let me at emmm" was hysterical. The fight afterward was dope, though.

Season 3 will be on the Halo ring for sure, so Chief will end up alone with Cortana in some way. As far as Adm Keyes dying this early, I have a feeling they're going to expand Miranda role, kind of bleeding Halo CE and Halo 2 into one.

If Keyes is in fact dead I think Ackerson makes the most sense. It changes the dynamic slightly to a less tragic moment when the proto-gravemind is discovered but it can easily become a fate well deserved while slightly redeeming end.

I thought this episode was good, but Keyes death definitely makes me worry for the future as he was such a pivotal part of the conflict on 04, I think it will be revealed Miranda in already on the Halo ring”going off of the elevator convo” and she is now a Captain

Which is worrying cause Miranda was not as strong a character as Keyes was in S1. Miranda was actually one of the weakest characters in S1, in my estimation. Not as totally irredeemable as Kwan, but not much better.

I just had a weird thought. What if because Ackerson took Chiefs armor that the show will now introduce MK. 5. Just follow me on this. Seems like Chief will need his armor, but if Ackerson is gone with Chiefs Mk 6 and we know they're going to the ring, it doesnt seem like there would be a chance to get his MK 6 back. What if Halsey has the Old MK 5 armor somewhere on sword base as like a memento? Might be an easy way to introduce the classic CE look for Chief in the series.

no we have already see in the trailer for the show that chief is going in space with the same Mk 6, unless it isnt some kind of fake CGI like in the first sonic trailer, just to keep a little surprise. But who knows

Man, I can't believe they killed off both Keys and Vannak. I was guessing that Keys would die with the conversation he and Chief had earlier in the episode about needing somebody good like him to continue leading, but I didn't see Vannak's death coming 😓

Kwans story will get more interesting. Soon as they flesh out more of the world in the series. Its actually kinda funny how we get a season and a half, but they barely scratched the surface - compared to lore fans, hedcannon; which is probably doing more work than it should be. Most of the audience don't have that. Kinda seems obvious to me, Spielberg wants to focus a bit more on what happens to the settlers, as the covenant war breaks out. You don't get a lot of that in the games because, they're not about that. - its actually shaping up to be a bit like BSG. Expect there to be episodes that kinda chill out on other stuff. I play the MCC fairly regularly - So they can change whatever they want in the show, and as long as it gets the job done, well enough. I'm good with it.

Id give it a 10/10. Easily my favorite episode.

5/10 for me. The removal of the armor from the equation was a catastrophic mistake, Keyes' death was a catastrophic mistake, Arbiter's mischaracterization was a catastrophic mistake and having Mackee controlling Arbiter was a catastrophic mistake. They made up so much ground only to punch themselves in the metaphorical dick over and over.

@KharaChmiel It made sense though. The scumbags (ONI) took all the "important" military assets, leaving behind the Spartans. I think they left them behind because now that they're working on the III's, they don't need em. I didn't like that Keyes died, but I loved the way he want out (the pipe from his dad, that made me so sad) And this isn't Thel arbiter. It's a new one, can't really mischaracterize him. Mackee isn't "controlling" him. She's just directly under the prophets so he's got no choice.

@@redsquireONI stealing military assets and leaving Reach would be seen by the UNSC as treason. If they do not call it as such later on and "redeem" Akkerson or Kai or anyone on the dropships that left, then this is a failed plot device. Akkerson doesn't own the suits, the UNSC does, even if Akkerson is head of program. AND on top of that, not having Chief and Co in armor is only going to fuel the people who do not like the show because of the amount of time Chief spends out of his armor. Chief out of armor should be dead. It's just that simple lol. Keyes dying is a travesty. He wasn't a very strong character because this series doesn't know how to build characters, but Keyes' death accomplishes so little, that at that point, he should have been able to make the decision that he's more important to the cause as an Admiral than as a dead man. Miranda, who they are most certainly supplanting in his place, is a miserable character in s1. I have low confidence in a redemption there. As for Arbiter - you slapped the Arbiter armor on this Elite in the same manner as the Arbiter in the game - with a trial and everything. The parallels were drawn to lore Halo 2 Arbiter. Not having him be Arbiter from the games is a decision they've made, but one we can bemoan. "He's not the same" - but they clearly want us to think he is, since he killed an Elite who "besmirched the 1-1 duel" he and Chief had going. You can't drop memberberries and then pivot like that, its disengenuous. Finally, Mackee. I don't think she's working for the Prophets. I think she's a 3rd faction. The Prophets wouldn't like it if she keeps letting Chief go. All in all, a disappointing episode.

The problem with Keyes' and Vannak's deaths in the show is that you aren’t sad that a character you like dies, you're annoyed because you were only just starting to like them, especially when most characters aren’t all that interesting to begin with

You make a good point, that's basically how I felt. I really enjoyed Vannak's character and I felt like he was "coming into his own" in Season 2, so it's a shame to see him killed so soon. But it's the fall of Reach so I get there has to be casualties, if anything I blame Season 1 for not writing these characters properly.

I think if they were going to go the noble sacrifice route with him, both to honor the games and improve upon his death in the games, he should have been smoking that pipe on the Autumn surrounded by flood as he manually initiates the reactor overload while chief flees Halo.

I thought vaniks death scene was resembling Kat’s looking up though that hole. And being taken out by the needler shard. And the bird was for him

Keyes’ death HAS to be a fake out, we didn’t see his body. There’s no way you get to the first Halo without him

Lots of actions, the atmosphere are sooo much better than S1 shootouts. spoiler thoughts below: im still furious with how Keyes and Vannak got offed (Vannak ones kinda reminds me of Kat somehow lol, it's also poetic how he layed on back watching eagle soaring in the sky) Unfortunately it seems the space pirate subplot and kwan will be in next episode according to next promo trailer, can't say i did not expect this, but i hope it's pretty brief and actually correlates with the main event more.

Woahhh, just watched, I agree 9/10! I appreciated how they're handling the episode overall, that the Spartans are more than their Armor, and that The Fall of Reach is about what was perceived as impenetrable being shown as vulnerable.💫 I really liked how they handled the duel, but the Keyes death part could've been shorter bc it felt kinda MCU-ish. The pacing was great overall, and weaving the different storylines together is great, plus I like how Keyes speech was delivered.

Not sure if I’m going to sit down and watch the whole season on my own, but based off of these reviews and such, I’m glad that this show is in a better spot. If only the first season was as good as this one. Then we would’ve had a very fire show.

The bird in the final shot has a Cgi issue where when it flies behind the right hand side of the rubble, it still is visible through it 🤣

Impressive how they managed to kill off and put 2 of the three black main cast members out of work in one episode. No other major characters died. And if you count the black albino minor cast member, that makes three. 😮

I feel like ackerson had a reason for taking the armour then just leaving them vulnerable I feel like he took the armour so he could replicate the armour for his Spartan 3s

And its ALSO insane to me that we are now 12 episodes in and we STILL HAVENT SET FOOT ON A HALO RING. And FOUR episodes in to season 2 and we havent SEEN a halo ring. And the people come out of the woodwork to defend this show and I'm just like, bros. This show is abysmal. Even if you give them the benefit of the doubt and say "ok, these are new showrunners who're trying to salvage the wreckage that was s1", there's still fundamental flaws with this season. Why in God's name are we continuing Kwan's plotline or anything to do with Rubble? Why does Arbiter (who they showed us becoming Arbiter in a very similar way to Halo 2 Arbiter to nostalgia-bate us) NOT ACT like Arbiter Thal'Vadam? Why does Mackee? Why is ONI being so stupid and taking the armor away from Chief BUT NOT TAKING CHIEF? You know, the guy they poured all the money into? Why kill off Keyes? Why GIVE CORTANA TO THE COVENANT....that's the whole plotline of Halo just shot in the head lol. It's just infuriating the levels of dumb being written.

Maybe a 6/10 yeah they didn’t have the armor, big , didn’t have the 4th member of silver team was hoping she hid the armor and came with it but I think she took off with oni. Vannak’s death was horrible in two ways, he’s never had screen time by himself, develop him barely just to kill him. I mean yeah it was the “arbiter” but he’s not just gonna stand there and watch him walk up and stab him all that dodging earlier for what. Also with Keyes, built him up even more this episode to off him, 5 seconds off from silver team getting there and saving him. But I guess having soren back was too many black people in one place

9.99/10 the only issue @ 16:30 of the episode you can see through the Chief's head. Anyone else notice this? I did right away, surprised it got through

The thing that drove me crazy about this episode (I did enjoy it)... WHERE ARE THE GRUNTS!?!? They should have been everywhere in this but all I saw were jackals and Elites. Also should have thrown a couple of hunters in there.

I think once Halo Combat evolved rolls around instead of having keys they might take the medal scene from Halo2 and replace Keys with his daughter.

Definitely the best episode yet, only problem is some people won't give it a chance because they didn't like season 1😢. Also cheers for the Shirt 🔥🍻

It was a great episode full of morcels straight from the game. The Elites with their energy swords along with Jackels and their shields looked really great and i liked seeing weapons like the needler and Plasma gun being used. I am deducting a point because i think it was bad not getting them into their Armour by the time we saw the Bridge battle. Crappy scripting making excuses for them not to suit up after they made it through really sucked. In saying thay i really liked seeing John takle the Camouflaged elite through the window and show how strong he is even with out the Armour. I just hope this doesnt stay a thing for too long. Personally i hope by the time season 3 comes and we see the Halo Ring, John 117 chooses to leave the Full Armour on including helmet due to feeling like being in a continuous state of war and combat. If they scripted it that way i could forgive the lead up stuff being done the way it was. I really felt that moments of the Reach invasion showed how Epic Halo in live action can potentially be. Another point deducted for killing off Keyes who should have just sent out a marine to get the job done. It didnt make sense what so ever to kill him off before arriving onto the Halo. It is an 8/10 from me.

It was the worst of the worst. They killed keys. Like wtf. The covenant got cortana. Last but not least chief is not gonna have any armor. It feels like the producers who got criticized for showing Chiefs face for no reason were like "oh u dont like seeing his face don't worry we will give you a reason for showing him with no armor at all for the whole series". Fuc this show.

Remember everytime a spartan dies its on reach its irony how they die or left dying....

Do they have an explanation how the elite armors changed I know some people didn't like the first elite armor I kind of did but I was just curious if they have a Canon explanation in their Universe why it changed

Great video! But if the original story from Reach, CE, 2, 3 and ODST is a 10/10, then the story from this show is a 4/10. I'm not saying that the show NEEDS to retell that same story, but I think any fan would argue that the original story was truly great. By comparison, the show's plot is mediocre at best. I didn't finish playing Halo CE and think to myself, "Man I don't know, this doesn't make sense, how are they going to pull this off?" But I find myself saying that after every episode of the show. In all of the games, you didn't have to wait for something to pay off because every installment was great on its own. The show will only be vindicated by a truly great payoff down the line and I sincerely doubt the show runners can pull it off. Episode 4 was better than the others, but the bar is embarrassingly low. The only way this episode gets a 9/10 is if you're comparing it to the episodes that came before and completely ignoring that the games exist.

My biggest problem with the shows is the inconsistency with the Covenant Empire. These are alien races solely set on the destruction of humanity, because of the Prophets coverup of their false religion. With their mighty warrior elites being great commanders, and having jackals and grunts as normal foot soldiers, while using hunters as heavy anti-tank infantry. not forget all the vehicles and technologies at their disposal they should be represented as a army with much more of a higher intelligence and advanced technology than our own. Yet I saw them as nothing more than just elites and jackals using swords and shields I do admit they are energy based, but they are still just swords and shields with some plasma pistol scattered. not forget that they are running like mindless zombies, with no cohesion or sense of strategy at all, I do understand the love of Halo combat, but if the combat can’t even make the enemy seem incompetent, then it’s not worth the time.

Keyes' speech felt underwhelming for what it was imo. Just how it was written, not ragging on the actor. If you want to see how that speech should have been, they should have drawn inspiration from the Gears of War 2 speech near the start of the campaign. That gives you the feeling of an imminent threat, rather than a lackluster, backburner enemy like the covenant in this show. I pity the fool that pays money to watch this show

Ok, now imagine this episode but in a Halo TV show that's ACTUALLY good.

Master chief doesn’t need his armor-keys. Um no he very much does and had the Spartans has their armor the final scene wouldn’t have happened but oh well

So who thinks that the boss elite will be half jaw or abitar but if you look at his eye it's on the same side as half jaws damage eye in the game

definitely a better episode. I still hate the god awful writing and stupid set ups for the future and why is Maki still alive? But all in all finally a episode thats reminiscent of Halo.
