Except its not a large part of the combat at all. Its an entirely optional gimmick that is often more fiddly than just shooting them with a gun

I like how voice chat bars reflected TB's voice. I already know that TB talks live, but seeing that visually is nice)

Gravlink works on that particular boss as a sort of stun, It doesn't lifts him up as he's too heavy but it does pull his armor up revealing blind spots to shoot at or distracting him long enough to get at his backside

I love that the game records his voice when he's in the audio menu.

When the boss guy showed up the cut scene looks like it shows that he had an exposed back, so grenades or getting behind him looks like is the key.

Underrated game that could have excelled with a larger budget/development team. I'd love to see this gameplay concept actualized in a higher budget sequel . . .

Won't happen, but I'd like a franchise out of this game. Pretty solid shooter, going through it again at the moment. Feels better second time around.

Actually once you have the Manipulation ability it is quite a bit like Bulletstorm's leash, since you can grab enemies and drag them towards you, and then either do an execution more or throw them at other enemies. And once you have the upgrade for that ability you can throw big stuff like cars.

Haha, I Really liked this video but I had a small rage at when he Didn't use the Grav-link on the boss at 15:00 to make him open to normal gun fire! Kudos to Biscuit for doing a first impressions on this.

Along with what Whispers said, he also loved Silent Hill 2, Deus Ex, and Skyrim.

Great vid! It's a shame you didn't show the other mode on the gravity gun, the heavy mode. I think it would be interesting the see in action in the zero-G and multiplayer (if that ever happens).

Yeah came to steam pretty recently

I liked Time Shift a lot. Time manipulation in that game was really nice. I liked that you could use time manipulation at any moment, and reverse time that does not affect you is awesome.

I would like to point out that Totalbiscuit was having trouble grabbing and throwing objects because the player doesn't yet have that ability. You get to try it in the tutorial, but the Gravlink you steal afterwards just has the Low Gravity power. Once you re-acquire the Manipulation ability you can throw anything that you can make float... including live enemies! You can grab enemies from afar, pull them close and do amazing instant-kill melee finishing moves, or throw them at other enemies.

That's the reason i watch him.... Because he reviews a lot of games that i consider buying and many a time has he saved me money by warning me about bad things in games. His reviews are a big part of me deciding which games to buy and i truly appreciate it.

I think Bastion would be on that list as it was his Number 1 game of 2011 and i myself would heartily recommend it

I *would* say take a shot every time TB says something on that little list but I wouldn't want to be held responsible for so many deaths by liver damage.

I agree that there should be more uses for the gravlink in boss fights early in the game, but it does get much better. One of the best boss fights in the game involves picking up lava with the gravlink and firing it in balls at the boss. It's pretty awesome.

My favorite inversion is the spherical; then goes the point.

I guess, but much more violent. Inversion allows you to pull someone towards you and then actually punch their head off. And instead of lightning you get energy assault rifles and energy shotguns that make people crackle with electricity and burst into blue flames, and sometimes explode. Oh, and a "Lava Gun". Funnily enough it's a far more realistic "flamethrower" than seen in most other games since it fires a long-range continuous stream of burning liquid rather than a short range puff of gas.

Running and cover can easily be on a different button in a bind key option, they could be the same but they should make it an option to change it if you so desire, its not that hard.

Oh yeah! I just finished this a bit ago. It wasn't too bad, I found it annoying that the gravlink had a bit of an awkward targeting at time, and I had moments when I'd hop into cover and have trouble moving around the way I wanted. Same with the Zero grav areas, I had a lot of trouble finding the spots I wanted to float to and getting there towards the end.

Actually I'm seeing more and more games that allow you to select in-game what device you use as your mic or your speaker, very handy for those of us who have both speakers and a headset. Examples include ME3 and STO, if I recall correctly.

just so you know, at 13:25 you can see that the boss doesn't have any armour on his back. what i believe your supposed to do is, use your gravity powers to make him float so you can get behind him and shot him in the back, where there is no armour

He refered to the angle at witch you see your character (As in the character is off to the right of the screen instead of the center).

Running into an object and taking cover with a single button is more intuitive than just running into an object if you ask me.

That's not the way that TB interprets it at the moment so in this context it's a valid point.

TB you say the gravity part is more a gimmick than a neccesity, but if you try to play this game on more challenging settings it really becomes something handy. And if not probably neccesary.

7:40 Those are detail textures. It's a secondary texture laid over the regular ones and only visible if closeby to improve looks drastically. Don't know why games nowadays don't use detail textures more often, it's not that hard or time consuming to make them, heck even unreal 1 had detail textures.

I've got an idea for a new game. It uses shin-high walls and gives you the ability to vault over one after the other without stopping, leaving you free to shoot at the enemy. It's pretty innovative. I believe we call them 'stairs' in the gaming industry. (I don't know where I'm going with this. Been in this comment section for too long)
