This is an album that metal snobs will look at in 20 years and regret their comments. Avenged just released a masterpiece...
I’ve heard that Matt and Syn took psychedelics (dmt) and that inspired this album
@CheeseMcGilligan
Жыл бұрын
This is true, however the type of dmt they took, 5-MeO-DMT, is not the type which gives you a bunch of crazy visuals and let’s you talk to aliens etc. With 5-MeO the experience is more akin to death, where you experience absolute blackness or whiteness along with complete ego dissolution. I’m pretty sure when they were talking about their experiences with dmt it was in direct reference to nobody, you can probably see the correlation in the lyrics of that song. However, those experiences do tend to have an effect in a broader sense, but I don’t think the experimental nature of this song is directly linked to their use of dmt. Although I could totally be wrong.

Being different is exactly what they’re trying to do. They want to challenge their audience now, and tell a story through the music! Love the pantera tone vocally on the heavier moments in this one. Been a fan of these guys since the waking the fallen/city of evil era. They’ve been and always will be my favorite band. Wouldn’t be a guitar player without em.

Syn uses a slide to play the acoustic part at the end. That is where the weird sound is coming from, as the slide hits and moves over the strings it creates kind of a screeching sound. Love your channel guys!!

It's a winner and a clear follow up from the last single. Remember how Pain flowd seamlessly into each other on the album but was confusing in the videos? 👀 Ax7 are aiming for our times Pink Floyd metal version
Sounds like they went deep into mike Patton’s( Faith no more/ Mr. Bungle) discography. Mr. Bungle is mike pattons more experimental stuff and some of it is downright haunting and gives you a feeling of uneasiness. That being said mike pattons is one of the craziest vocalist’s out there love his stuff.

Someone probably pointed this out already, but it's the left-hand fingers moving along the strings of an acoustic that you called "some kind of filing" noise. It's what an acoustic sounds like live.
I think the chorus is city of evil guitars style again and the harsh screaming bit waking the fallen
While they did say several years ago that Kanye played a role in their inspiration behind this album more recently they said the album was inspired by existentialism as well as the writings of french author Albert Camus, who had alot of his philosophical ideas drug from the school of Syndicalist Anarchism

Short answer is self destruction and we are killing each other for people that don't care about this planet and we want is take and take. At first I thought this song was fucking weird but more and more I listen to this song it makes perfect fucking sense
If you've never heard anything like this before go check out the album California by Mr Bungle, and maybe literally all of Faith no more. Ya know what, go listen to anything Mike Patton has ever done. There is a TON of obvious influence from him, and that is not a bad thing! It's very experimental sounding, and that's always fun to hear
This song is so fucking good
This song is so screwed up. I love it. I love when a band experiments and paints outside the lines.
Love what this band is doing, I hope you react to the full new album guys.
for the first time i listen this song i assume that's a weird music. but, after i listen for more i think they're intellectuals in the guise of musicians! they're fvck u up about his hybrid music, they're just want to highlights what the human doing to this earth, the drive to always want more and more, eventually leading to the ultimate destruction of civilization. that's was brilliant vision! And that's why i love this band since waking the fallen album and they're still the GOAT for me all the time!
He said they took inspiration from Kanye and Daft Punk and I am not a Kanye Aficionado but I know enough to know what he means by that by also saying Daft Punk and hes just mostly referencing the electronic elements they both had in their music mixed with rap/hip hop.
While I don’t love the vocals in the first 30 seconds I don’t hate them. Plus the guitars, drums, and especially BASS at the start are soo good I wouldn’t want to cut it
Best song so far on the album. Awesome review 👍

its such bizarre song way beyond was progressive music is
Really not sure what to think about this album. I think the pressure for most bands is that they are forced to develop a record around a certain theme or subject, which can sometimes hinder creativity. Maybe this record isn’t really about anything in particular and they’re just trying to experiment with different sounds.
As a fan of Mr Bungle I can appreciate this song's chaos, but I'm not fond of it overall.
This álbum is similar to Mr Bungle
Well.. Rev did love Zappa. Heh
So, what a lot of people don’t understand is in progressive metal style. You usually have chaos leading up to a release tension point. This song seems to do just that. Makes you really appreciate the pretty parts in a song after listening to the chaos first. They are taking no risks in my opinion but doing different yet amazing things with this album. Its exciting. Its not another typical metal song. It grabs your ears and keeps you in it. Thats what I love about them.
Its already my top 5 songs from them, and for reference i started listening to them around the white album Id suggest listening to phlegmatics by mr bungle or Platypus i think thats the inspiration for the intro
@maxpower3555
9 ай бұрын
I think it’s phlegmatics. The middle part reminds me of me bungle’s first album - slowly growing deaf especially. Then the second chorus with the dissonance and the instruments stripped right back is similar to how that song does it too. Amazing journey this song takes you on.

You should check this song out live. There’s really good footage from Vegas and it’s pretty solid live.
What in the Mr Bungle fuck is going on?
I'm going to say when I first heard this song, I thought it was awful. Like I really thought it was one of the worst things I've ever heard. Then I watched multiple people react to it & the more I listened to it via those videos (whether the reactors liked it or not), the more I started to like it a little. Tho I still felt off with it. The explanation here, where if you could take off the first 30 seconds' vocals off the song is something I can very much agree with. I actually didn't like any part of that first 30 seconds. Taking out that part would make me like this song that much more, because the rest of the song is alright. Not great, but not really bad either. I will say I preferred Nobody over this one, but this one is still decent. Talking again about taking off the first 30 seconds tho, I also don't think it should start with the "More ____ , Build _____ " part. I wonder what could be put in that beginning part instead of whatever that was in the beginning?
I'm getting a weird Morbid Angel Illud Divinum Insanus vibe. Different is good when the music is good, and this is not good.
Interesting drug trip 😂 don't know...is it art or trash.
I see the first 30 seconds as a representation of a passionless made by committee avenged sevenfold song
This song is growing on me. Not my favorite, but I like it. First time I heard it, I hated it.
Is this like an anti-capitalist song or something? Lyrics coming out of bands lately are all about breaking the chains of government and setting yourself free, I like that.
Man i dont wanna sound like im hating, but i cant understand what they were thinking, the instrumentation is all over the place and doesnt flow well and its possibly the worst vocal performance ive ever heard in a metal song, how they could think those vocal effects sounded good is beyond all rational logic

So you’re calling the reactors trash? Very telling on your version of the human condition, people have varying opinions and music IS subjective above all else. Objectively the band played well and are experts at their craft, subjectively not every person will like this song and that’s fine, I love music as art, I listen to every genre and have headphones that may as well be attached to my ears, but music IS a product as well as an art form.
