Waffel was strong back in the day when the upper front plate could actually bounce badly aimed or panic shots (so no easy auto-aim pens, especially at range) and the tank meta in general had much less alpha and dpm tanks (few auto loaders etc). Combine this with the changes to the Intuition skill and a preset crew using basic skills only and you are where we are now.

ok i agree witht he latter parts, but bouncing with the WTe100 was ALWAYS a very lucky and unreliable proposition. I dont think i ever bounced a shot on mine after hundres o battles. So much so in fact good players would usually peak sideways or even with their rears. You could indeed bouce if a very bad player with a low pen tier 8 without gold shoot your hull, but everybody and their mothers would just shoot the turret with HE anyways.

It was never all that strong, it was rather rare to bounce stuff... Also hard to miss that massive birdhouse of a turret. It could piss off players or the user, yes. It could work really well and pull off crazy stuff when all the starts aligned, yes. But USUALLY it was very, very average

It was usually panic shots then ( back in the day ) , as you'd nearly always meet the enemy Waffle end game when pushing enemy base + you were usually ( and some of your team mates ) down to " fartable " , then this POS Waffle would appear !! 🤕

No. You kids have terrible memory. Waffle had way better mobility. Way better gun handling. Clipping on the move was np and there are several clips of this especially in like murovanka through the forest. This was a 128 gun that had 6 shells / 3360 alpha total for 560 per shell on a 2s intraclip for 50s reload. The armor was not trivial and you could easily use the lower armor to bait shots in city maps. It had base 400 or 420 view range. I mean... The version here has : nerfed HP, >200% worse gun handling (at one point nerfed by like 200% and then another nerf), track and turret traverse nerfed, less shells per clip, view range nerfed, hull armor nerfed. Just from what I recall. What you see today is a shadow of what the waffle was... It was a true wtfpwnmobile and would still be quite competitive.

i think WT E 100 has been shadow banned from prokhorovka by WOT Team. Played 50 games in a row and never saw that map neither my friends.

Its nice it has a crew. Can you imagine how fun it was to get waffel rentals when you dont have any crew for german td. Its fair now. You dont have to play with a 50% fresh crew or use tons of gold to retrain crew for rental battles.

Yeah, I'm sometimes surprised that some players in wot can actually think.

In consoles this TD is a second option from the Pz IV apart from the Grille. With 4 shells it's extremely balanced. Nowadays with HE and intuition perk completely reworked, this TD wouldn't break the mm. Years ago sure but not today with so many tanks using CVS. This thing has no camo whatsoever.

33:44 I always found the WT to be a very difficult tank to play despite its potential. I never understood why WG removed it and left FVs 183s in the game. The WT after it lost its old 6-shot clip for the current 5 was not OP.

One of the reasons Wargaming originally removed the WT was that it was almost entirely a fabrication. Combine that with the fact that some players did _very_ well in it meant that there were a lot of people clamoring for this "fake" tank to be removed and replaced with something more realistic and balanced, hence the introduction of the less exciting Grille. You'll note that the FV 183 ended up being taken out of its tech tree and replaced as well, with the much more fragile FV 4005 taking its place, though the 183 occasionally becomes available for sale. In the current meta, the WT E 100 isn't much to write home about, but back when it was first introduced it was king and embodied everything wrong with Wargaming's design philosophy. Outrageously overpowered fake tanks made to get players to race up tech trees by spending excessive amounts of free XP, credits, and gold.

@@DovahFett I dont see it as more fake than most. The hull existed, the autoloader 128mm gun existed (mounted on AA bunkers), so it was a plausible tank on my book. That being said if the tank was removed because some cry babies said it was OP and/or unrealistic, well we can give it to WG that they indeed listens to players feedback. Maybe thats also why the maps are getting more and more corridor? Fun fact, the grille back when it was released was outrageously good. So much so a lot of players didnt even complained their WT was replaced by the grille (me included) The grille was leagues better than the nerfed version of the WT. A shame it dint took too long for WG to nerf the grille. It used to be pretty much a medium tank with a 150mm sniping and snapshoting gun. WG made it a pure sniper with the nerf.

Actually I was against waffle removal from the game, that old days.. I was playing derp T49 as tier 8 and was very happy when meeting them. That was my first 3marked tank and was so much joy to play that tank and look at it now... Does anyone plays T49 now with derp? You all know the answer its unplayable. The game was actually so much fun to play, than novadays. There were very very rare games when you can win 15 to 5, even with disbalanced tanks. So what happened? Everyone learned how to play? I dont think so.. Even if they would add the old waffle now as it was - it wont be too overpowered, because of the powercreep and big game mechanics changes. :)

Even as tier 9 it was fun... Until they nuked HE. And yeah, its really underpowered now if anything, especially with the nerf, heck even back then it was kind of underpowered, sure it can ruin one or two tank's games if he plays all the cards right... But it was SOOO rare it'd hit everything, and SOO boring and yet hard to play its insane. I used to really enjoy farming those on my lvl 6 HE VK light lol, see when its empty and just rush it. And you're wrong, part of the problem REALLY IS that people learned to play, but that's not just that, its that maps turned to shit corridors and hull down crap, new tanks are faster too, and all the new equipement boosts, also the infinite repair kits and medpacks let people risk and recover, while before if you where hit without it, you'd get crippled for the rest of the battle unless you had the skills to somewhat negate that (ace of all trades, armorer...)... Also we had HE to hold people back even if they did have armor. Now you can't do shit against goldspam hull down unicums, and nowhere to go on those shit maps, no time to do it either because thanks to them the games are all down to seconds... There's also no bushes and less hiding spots, the old maps used to have more, so you had more chance to retreat and/or hold the enemy

@@mkzhero fully agree with corridors, but hull downs where all the time. Tanks with good gun depression and turret armor was always the key to go ridge lines, look at the t29 its still not bad tank, but its powercreeped very much. The japanese td 7 is way more better than all other tanks in t7(as an example). As usual im not playing lower than 8 and im not purple unicum or anything to show very great stats, but i played almost 50k games in 10 years. HE mechanics, sure is the thing. Like in novadays, as an example, if You drive patriot or t32 and meet 279ebola, what should You do? Go around? Shoot HE? I can add a lot of similar examples. The old mechanics was a bit better(still not perfect) because of possibility to do some damage with HE shels. The powercreep is very big thing. Top tanks are so much better than tech tree. And like i said: "Everyone learned how to play? I dont think so.." its not the problem. If people did learned to play we would not have 15 to 5 sim 9/10 games. ;)

And sure it wasn't perfect, but you definitely still had your options and could do well enough in most situations or at least SOMETHING with HE before the enemy took the engagement to you, but because that'd mean pushing, even if they're op you have the advantage due to weakening them with HE... No infinite repair kits also meant you could permatrack them easily enough, so people would think twice before bumrushing in many situations. So yeah, they both learned how to play better and the rules changed in the favor of snowballing and steamrolling. 5-15's? Well, if you have not a single good tank and a full team of reds, orange and yellows on one team, maybe with the exception of one green-unicum player (who still might be playing something average), and the other has great tanks, AND a bunch of greens and unicums, how else do you expect it to go? All the old things that could slow down or stop steamrolls are gone, and the matchmaker is as stupid as ever, not balancing by players nor tank power, of course it'll speed up and go this way.

@@mkzhero when they nuked HE i was happy, because i hated all the line of japanese HT, now after the nerf that line was abbandoned, like the KV2, T49, but they nerfed too much that mount the HE is just a loss of money.

Can't forget the enemy wtf e100 gets constantly HE spammed jeez you can see the HE explosions even when he's behind the building :3

I always remember this thing as the most OP tank in the history of WoT, but to be fair, there are more armored tanks now or the tanks that existed were buffed except the E5 getting nerfed, HE is different now and people simply have better crews now. Yeah you'll have chances to clip out a T9 tank, but there are a lot of big guns on tanks that have real big damage HE shells and intuition that didn't really exist when this tank was OP. Plus it doesn't have access to the best crew, the 150mm gun and extra shells in the magazine.

For me Waffle can back permamently,And it will not break the game

yeah. Even in its most overpowered state it wouldn't do much in 2023 wot. There's so many tanks that can fuck this shit up. Starting with Chieftain loading HE. EBR would shreds it aswell. Heck, even a BZ-176 can be dangerous. Not mentioning that the average battle is like 3 min long at best so you won't be able to do much with that 50 sec reload time

I feel the same way, as soon as someone catches you, it is intuition switch and HE...

people are completely missing out the point with the waffle, i witness its introduction (the first iteration 560x6 + 420m vr and lazer accurate dispersion) and its demise. what makes the waffle broken or whatever you wanna call it. its not the armour, speed, heck, even its firepower. its is raw ability to burst out a single tank at 2800 dmg in just 8 seconds. you can compensate its reload to even 180 secs a magazine and there is still no other vehicle that could match its raw burst in a short window. even if you miss 2 shots out of 5, its still a 1680 dmg drum. more than a jageroo and just a notch down the deathstar. it punishes a player so hard for a mistake. costing their entire vehicle. it is very very powerful and yet very very vulnerable. there is no middle ground for this vehicle. i still do not think this vehicle should return.

Hello Skill and all of you! I must say I am glad you are also showing us these blitz 5:15 games... and I must say also from my current experience... I think this is worse every month... WG should try thinking about it... but i know until they will be able to earn money - they wont change anyting in this direction... 🙃🙃

Hey Skiiiieeeeeel, i love ur content. When i started with WOT Waffel was so hard to pen and to kill. So nowadays its more easier to pen and kill the Waffel, so its the most hard tank to play those days in the World of Tanks.

A year ago I trained the crew from JgPZE100 to WTE, I still have it and it turns out that I can't train them back now. I hope the old crew won't disappear after the event :) Thx for clip, and have a nice day.

Back in the days, autoloaders were rare. But WT still can take out a T10 with one clip.

skill you need to stay on 450 plus meters distane when possible and in citiy maps you sit bh hts and count shots that worked for me

7:42 because that wont be fair, some players invest time and lot of grind to have a good crew with good equipment for ranked and competitive gamemodes. The beginner who plays this gamemode with rental tanks should be patient with the game, like us who already destroyed our nervous systems :))

The tank itself isn't terrible on its own. The problem is that it is terrible for today's meta. 50s reload in 3min games, if your team is losing you maybe get one clip, if your team is winning it's hard to chase damage because of the reload and because everyone will focus you with HE. It would be decent if the games were longer since it can still destroy an entire tier 10 tank really quickly for making one mistake and the gun is more consistent than the 183mm British ones. If it was back in the game people would play it for a few weeks and then forget about it, at least in my opinion.

WG should bringt this thing back to the game permanently. On console its with 4 shells and something like 30 seconds reload and is way better but not OP. 5 shells with a minute reload PC version seems way worse compared to that because you reload so long. For that reason the PC version of WT is harder to play because you need to think way more ahead. They should make it a auction or assembly shop or what ever if they fear everyone is gonna want it.

really miss the old 6 shot shredding machine in its prime, but I always felt it was like the 183's.. lots of potential but only if you used it right.. kind of like MOST tanks.. a haul down 705a is definitely more broken than this thing ever was!

I think that balancing tanks like for example taking away the armor of E-100 hull is bad. Overpowered tanks should be an indicator of how tier XI should look like. Force-balancing tanks, like 100mm gun has more alpha than 120mm gun, in my opinion is not good for the game.

It's a waste, because it only reduces damage from non-penetrating HE Shells. so It's not useful on Paper Tanks

The hull armor nerf ruined it. If it still had the E100's hull, it would still be playable.

i remember past year having like 80 battles to play with it and i left it after 20+ battles because it was so disgusting to play, back in the day the slower games and the old intuition skill allowed it to perform better, i really think this tank is outdated as hell, it would be good to improve camo to be maybe on grille levels, improve a bit the mobility and nerf the time between shots

I want WT E-100 back like it was last time. Meta is absolutely diferent nowadays and potato player can play nothing. This tank doesn't make superhero from anybody. It's very special counterpart to FV4005. I think FV4005 is much more OP whit ability to oneshot many and many tank...WT E-100 must stay still and try to clip for quite long time in comparison whit just FV's little peak and boom.

to fix this vehicle they need: raise strongly the penetration, change gun elevation and depression, a better gun handling, an auto-reloader and better accuracy. German accuracy should be .1 to be like russian 0.3. Remember that the shot distribution was not the one we have today. Today WT auf E 100 is even worse: it was nerfed in the gun handling, reload, lost one shell and the armor was cutted.

You know what? I think if WG want to give a chance to get titt rozanov at the end of Mirny saga in this year, they could give a chance to get waffelcock at the end of WT saga in next year. Ofc if they see that WT is shit enough in radoms...

The thing that this tank probably shows the most is for how bad wot of a game has become, not just balancing, powercreep, but also playerbase wise. Even in best circumstances you suddenly have people throw a match by making moves that even a persons stroke has a risk of having a stroke. Then puff suddenly an entire flank is gone and no matter how good you are even mouthbreathers down you eventually when they just swam you in numbers. Specially so if you are bottom tier in a +2mm.

if they put it back into tech three now, this tank wouldn't be statistically outstanding anymore. Of course, skilled players could still pull off some brutal rounds with it, but it would be just fine.

You most likely would shoot like once or twice, get spotted, then farmed by a Chieftain with HE. Basically this thing is a worse FV4005 which says a lot since FV isn't Meta by any means.

Gotta love It when streamers sit on their backsides for the first five minutes of the game to 'conserve' their hitpoints, then bleat about the team making mistakes. The enemy team had the balls to push, while you were polishing yours.

I am so glad i managed to quit the obsession for this game. From christmas loot boxes to 4 events with loot boxes per year. But no fix for the matchmaker.

It ain't about you, WT is not the easiest tank to play with. To me, patience, a good team and knowing when to reload are the keys to succes but that ain't always the case so sometimes you gotta work with what ya got and be a lil' strategic when possible. I stopped playing WoT a few years ago, I was a hardcore Panther 8.8 player so I know how it feels to get slapped around with no armour ;)

A player with 46.5% win rate will do 1.2k avg dpg in this.

tank feels exactly as any big clip weak tank, like AMX 50 100 for example. So you either spank and opponent is sad or you get no clean opportunity and you are sad. Either way it's kind of ruining the game (arty like RNG but not for each shot but for the situation in the game). If your team is winning - you win more with WTE100 and if you're losing, you can't do anything.

If they have an ideea to bring it back, WTF will be broken, BUT by the enemy tanks...seriously it's a bad tank, it's like FV4005 maybe even worst and ,if they'll bring it back it's just a taste of HE shells. You can't retreat from enemy face cause it's too slow, you can't defend yourself cause you are on reload for a minute and do not forget guys WOT it's a 3-5 mins rounds game.

@16:18 "this is a bad performance" skill you have played a match on one of the worst maps where u get either snowballed by enemy team or your team steamrolls enemies. there is no between and there is certainly no such thing as a bad performance from u skill anyway as always great video keep up the baboon work
