Yeah I'm a bit speechless at this. For years he's been trying to build a 'professional' channel with sponsorship and the works. He's either given up and is just creaming the views he can, or he's on the verge of a mental breakdown and is oblivious to what he's churning out (and I don't mean that taking the piss). That old video of him building the belly pan was when he was ok to watch. Nothing special, just a guy bodging in his garage and filming it for the fun of it. He was enjoying the builds and not being something he wasn't. He's slowly turned into a sad bloke just looks like he hates what he's doing.

That would've been a perfect for composites. Bond a big piece of foam onto the tank. Shape it whatever way you like. Close the foam with micro. A few layers of glass or carbon, and then you can paint it and/or do something interesting with vinyl. No metal, no welds, a lot more freedom with its shape, lighter (not that it matters here), overall a simpler way, and perhaps faster as well (depending on the resin set time).

@@digschopper9321 Don't be too harsh on him. He did a great job last time on the HDS's tail. Beautiful clay sculpturing, spot on fibre orientation, perfect resin to fibre ratio, not a single air pocket in sight, super lightweight. On top of that, he introduced the concept (which is now industry standard) of reusing the dust from the sanding process.

😂 the chicken strip one is a del classic, on his harley luggage box vid i commented about his chicken strips and put a link to that vid for him 😂, he deleted the comment shortly after, so i out it straight back on, its still there

Matt, if you start replicating his fabrications, but do it properly, it will be devastating.

I do sheet metal work everyday for a living. The chevron thing he did wasn’t the worst I have I ever seen but the tube isn’t symmetrical, his welding is awful and typical of a first time welder. Cold with to much wire. Whole thing needs going in the bin and remaking. Trick with this sort of sheet metal work is to touch it as little as possible. Going over the whole thing with a flap disc just rolls all the edges, he just doesn’t know what he’s doing

Every time I asked Matt if he would help Dell, without hesitation Matt said "YES" he would help. Dell has everything to gain and nothing to lose at this point, Dell would get 100,000 Subs from us lot overnight we would all watch his progress.

I posted a perfectly reasonable comment on his video. It got a load of thumbs but he deleted it. All i said was " I'm guessing that isn't exactly the look you were hoping for. Would you not just bin it and start again?" Is that how he rolls, if your comments aren't bigging him up he deletes them? How utterly sad is that?!?!

I wouldn't cut the tube to make the plate level, I'd just make the plate the right size to sit on the tubes, and be level. And there's no welding mistake that you can't fix with more weld and more grinding.

He is welding to execution class zero

you don't need to make it very complicated by cutting the pipes in half and welding in between to make it flush ant tangential. You could just undersize the plate, for it to drop in between the tubes.

1. Cutting a tube in half means that your two sides have the exact same bend. 2. Filling in missing material is just a nasty way to do things. 3. Weight. Adding material for the sake of it isn't a sport, it's lazy.

I am not a welder. I only stick welded a few times. Nothing fancy. Why can't he weld like everyone else, in one smooth pass? Does he need better welding equipment? Could he do a continuous weld with the welder that he has?

@@leoarc1061 Welding thin sheet metal using tacks is perfectly OK, you can do it with the most basic mig/mag or flux core welder. The equipment he has is good enough, it's the user problem.

No there isn't. YEs the tank is two pieces, and they're seam welded together, but you can see or feel a seam. Rememeber Del said it's ugly...

You can't laugh at that, it's the metal equivalent of a child who had a massive debilitating stroke at age 15. And Del had to publish it. He had time and effort sunk into it, and it needs to feed 3 weeks worth of views. Hiding the results of the welding was not only near-impossible, but it would have meant sacrificing an episode. As it is, he should have sacrificed 4.
