WRRS Mini Bell! CSX unit Grain Train At Newell Hill Rd, Sterling, MA.
A CSX unit grain train heads up the Rickety worcester main to Ayer, MA.
My eyes where Fixed on the OLD crossing equipment With WC hayes 8" Lights, WRRS/GRS Gates and a Cast Iron WRRS Mini bell!
The Crossing was set for 40 MPH trains back in the 80's back when Conrail was running 8-10 trains a day.
Today, trains run at 10 MPH, and the crossings activate about 3 Minutes before the head end hits the crossing.

I find it interesting that those 8 inch lights are brighter than a lot of 12 inch lights I wish the mini bell would ring the whole time tho
that is a peaceful railfanning spot

Nice catch, I remember back in the late 80's when they did run 40 thru there, someone in a van ran that crossing and didn't make it !

There is a railway crossing in Clare, MI that has that same WRRS Mini Bell.
You should not go around the gates to film the back of the train until the gates are completely up. Safety first. Otherwise, excellent shots.
