Wrotham, Kent - Call Changes on 8
Музыка
(Recorded 30/07/2011)
An excerpt from some call changes after a wedding at Wrotham. These are a very good example of some of the fine work G&J have done across the land.
I must apologise for the calls being "down". By all other accounts, Phil Barnes is a perfectly-sound chap.

@simonbellringer I second that!
@timmeh1507 Thought you might!! :)
These sound good!! For excellent G & J though, look no further than St Laurence, Alton - they are superb!!
Nice clock.
@AtTheBellEnd To change from the row 1234 to the row 1324, 3 bells will end up following a different bell, so three calls could feasibly be made: being 2 to 3 (up), 3 to 1 (down) and 4 to 2 (blind). An obvious problem here is that the blind call "4 to 2" could also be a down call, which demonstrates that down calls are ambiguous. So, "3 to 1" could be the blind call for the down call "2 lead". "2 to 3" can only change the bells in ONE way, which makes it intuitive and unambiguous.
@KDowner94 No, it's not. Despite the popular point that down calls only mention one of the bells changing its position in the order of the bells (whereas up calls mention both bells which are changing) there's an even better way of looking at it, which I shall explain.
nice bells
@simonbellringer Neitheof us our right - there is no right or wrong way!
@KDowner94 Lol, Im not THAT against it, Im just right!!! :)
Calling, call-changes down is the logical way to do it - dont apologise
@KDowner94 Check your English-OUR right or IS right!! And I was only joking!! :P
@KDowner94 Look at the response and see my point!! It is ambiguous and daft!!! 2-3 is the RIGHT way!!!
@simonbellringer Well if your that against calling them down, come and try and convert the rest of Isle of Wight then! Listen, you call them up and we call them down -END OF STORY.
