As a long time guitar player and writer, who has been in a rut for like a decade, this is so inspiring to watch and listen to! I have to admit, I think the biggest hurdle for me is being completely overwhelmed by all the software and specialized knowledge to use them properly. I end up avoiding recording altogether as a result, paralysis by analysis kind of thing. Recently started learning Reaper and EZD3 and the learning curve is steep, wish I never took a hiatus because I am worried I'll never have the time to get proficient at everything. Life got busy and I have way too many interests to dedicate myself to music the way I did when I was in my early 20's. Anyway, thanks for reading my rant! Music is life!
these videos are the BEST on youtube to learn composition for metal and djent. you are so awesome man

It’s really cool to see you thinking through things and the raw talent that’s at play here, even in the non-cohesive moments.

@@nickbroomhallmusic You are welcome! I was thoroughly entertained for all 14 mins, and that is rare. Even with my millennial attention span! You inspired me to create something.
End it with a huge breakdown please

the intro gives big sleepless deathbed vibes - love it!!
I’ll be honest, I usually drink a couple cups of coffee before I plan on coming up with something. Puts the mind in overdrive lol
Also love this chord, you 100% used it in your “Voicenotes” TRT session I believe. It would be cool to try and blend this idea with that one in some way!! 👀
Every Thursday I look forward to two things. Band practice with my band and a Thick Riff Thursday video by Nick Broomhall!
Thursday is quickly becoming my favourite night of the week thanks to Thick Riff Thursday! Love these videos Nick, thank you. I’m a relative newcomer to your channel so have loads of your content to binge!
i love it when you fill me up with your thick riffs
Some sweet Modern Day Babylon vibes from this one, love it!
it would be cool to see you do like a heavy shoegaze type thick riff Thursday. In the style of Loathe or sumthin
Nick! So happy to see your following continue to grow. You are awesome and inspiring. I share your content with everyone I know will appreciate it. Thank you and keep it up brother!
MAN FIRST OF ALL That shit is crazy. ALSO you have never mentioned them but I can`t just not see the Volumes influence in your riffs and the chord voicing you use. This riff sounds like something straight out of VIA. Great stuff man
This was such a great riff. After an insane week, a well needed Thick Riff Thursday what what I needed
This riff is a banger! Amazing, Nick! ♥
Dude, that tapping part was so clean…
you know that feeling when a riff hits you so frickin hard that your speechless, as soon as those bass drops hit I had that feeling, this was definitely one of my favourites
so good to see you proud of yourself with the tapping 😂 amazing dude! one of my favs episodes for sure!! much love from brazil 💜
Fuckin love these vids man never stop!!!
That tapping more clean than my bedroom studio after a new chair delivery. The entire riff is so good !
Really vibed with this one! So flow-y! The riffage is awesome!🔥
Wow this is your best one yet. Keep it up brother look forward to these every Thursday
I need thick riffs and Thursdays to be everyday of the week 😂 killer job per usual!
old P2 vibes for this one. instantly hits me in the feels
Yoooo this totally sounds like a sequel to Voicenotes
After the Burial vibesss ❤️🩹
tapping makes me think of polaris, but this is definitely Erra sounding
Coffee riffs are superior riffs. That’s just how the universe works. ☕️
This riff is insane dude 🔥🔥🔥🤘

Sooo gooooood 🔥
I usually line up my playing before a gym session with pre workout.. That's some caffeine to get you creative
god YESSS! EACH TRt episode drops when i finish my last period of the day, so i spend stufyt hall watching TRT its great
very currents-y riff...i love it!
I can’t help but think that this is what Dave Matthews would sound like if he went djent, and I’m totally here for it
when you have to do takes like the tapping fill where you wanted to use a fret wrap you could use tape to tape off the strings you don't have open notes on and still have your other strings muted
Some......body!!!!!!!
You always write the best riffs, such a beast. I would love to see you cover the new Willow Smith song - symptom of life. Its in 7/4 with minor chords resolving to majors. Its ripe for a Nick Broomhall cover
I need this as a full song !!!
It is like old Bulb's track :D Love it
Very early erra and some veil of maya vibes rn lovin it
sick riff man, really enjoyed this episode!
“I guess I have to be good at guitar” 😂
Thanks for the weekly inspiration
🔥🔥🔥
Bro this shit always hits so hard!
You make it look super easy.
such a great riff god damn 🔥

Gotta expand on that SAPCEY LEAD. That sounds so good.
This is the primo djent tasties we've been needing
I had no idea guys tracked like this these days. I'd still be sitting trying to actually play all the parts
Ayyyyye. Good thing my bday fell on a Thursday this year
thursday is the best day of the week now
this riff is amazing
Such a fun riff!
Now this one is a slapper
A bass drum paradiddle would go well with this guitar rythm
this one going on the album
For the next TRT I want it to be called Nick Broomthall
My boy already at 27k subs what a chad
This one was sooo good
Oh boy here we go again
🤘🏻💥🔥🔥🔥
I want this on Apple Music!!!!! 😂
Yet another banger
Dude hell yes
Exactly what I just started doing punching in guitars myself I can play it well enough live but I want the record to be A1 lol, my hands on drums are decent but I punch in the kicks too lmao
Dope!
Thick riffffff!!!!!
Did you dial in a new tone on Archetype Nolly? Cause this tone is heavy and bonkers! Congratulations on 50 episodes!
You should make a semi in-depth run through of logic
All the thick riff Thursdays are good but this one is SO good. Nick, have you ever posted the full specs on this guitar? I am looking to buy a 7 string and your tone in this guitar is incredible. Kiesel Thorium in the bridge....What pickup do you have in the neck? Is the body of the guitar a Kiesel?
Good shit
covfefe is always a good time before a writing session
Nick can you please share the guitar tone preset with among us mortal beings... it sounds sick...
Got my first Kiesel a few years ago and yeah those pickups are INSANE.
Go Reds!!!
What are your favorite pickups? Are you using the Kiesel ones? The polarities are my favorite from them so far.
Bro can you please make a video on how to set up the shinzbass in logic. I just purchased mine. Could you go over how to set it up and make it easily used in the midi piano roll?
sounds like a new Belmont song.
Nick, if. You need coffee to do thick riff Thursday, cut down the caffeine!!!!! Pleaasee!!!
@yayanlowgran
4 ай бұрын
As someone who cut out caffeine, you don't and won't need it once you are clear! The riffs will come easier without ❤❤
😮
somebody give nick a double kick pedal
Does anyone else go to the end to hear the full riff then go back to see how it was made?
Metal bill Hader?....Hello?
HOLY CHORD! Pause at 2:31.
I guess I gotta be good at guitar 😂🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
Banger riff! Is this using the plugin presets from your website or is this a newer preset?
Caffeine definitely gives a boost to writing and production, but guys: wait til you discover kratom and it's effects on making music
