I purchased Stratus some time ago, but have been quite put off by all that it has to offer. This video helped tremendously in giving me a better understanding of the diverse library of sounds and as a result how to use it. Thanks as always for this video!! Spitfire has some of the best libraries available!!

I can relate to that, most SF plugins feel underwhelming to look at, but when you start peeling back the sounds they are just incredible..

Hi Lucie, Our musical taste (and possibly heritage, my grandmothers name was Fannie Macleod ☺️) are so in-line. Grew up listening to Björk and Sigur Rós. I’ve made several trips to Iceland as well. Anyway, I just wanted to say the piece is lovely. I think your theory about colder sounds with warmer progressions does play a part in the Icelandic sound. Great video. Thank you.

Like others who were engrossed by the lovely piece and Lucie's inspiring demo and deconstruction, this has re-ignited my interest in Stratus which I purchased some time ago. And like others commenting here, I've been a little overwhelmed by the depth and possibilities. This has drawn me back to it in a delightful way. Thank you Lucie and Spitfire.

Thank you Lucie, I thought there was just the right amount of active to evoke memories and feelings of Iceland; the atmospheric and cinematic to evoke the landscape and wide open spaces, in opposition to a rhythm and drive to represent the activity of Reykjavik as well as the tectonic power always bubbling somewhere underneath. In the latter category, I heard some influence perhaps from Jonsi's Go album as well as re:member. You have such a beautiful way of explaining your creativity and thought process as well.

Should have said, love your piece to very expressive. I totally agree with what you said about being bold. I also like what you said about using quiet sections in a piece, this is something I try to do quite a bit, for me dynamics is about a whole range, not just loud and louder

As a newcomer to this world (acoustic guitar is my main instrument), I am trying to learn to play keyboards and understand how to use the wonderful tools. A full course would be wonderful.

Found this vid by accident. Have no idea whatsoever as to what a Stratus is. I thought it was a type of cloud. The musical piece, however, is awesome and beautiful. Very 'northern' sounding.... Seems that it would fit Iceland or the Faroes landscapes quite well (two places I've never been, but they fascinate me). There needs to be a radio channel with this sort of music. Peace.

Love the sounds and song. I know nothing (yet) about sample libraries and platforms to use them in. With the spitfire libraries, do I just need a DAW to access the samples? Any daw will do? Or is it some Native Instrument platform? Any suggestions for a platform to access, play, compose? At this time, I just have the Reaper daw.

Thank you very much, Lucie, for this fabulous demonstration of the Stratus library. I've had it for a while (along with Ólafur's Composer Toolkit) and while I'm always fiddling with it, I struggle to make anything with it. So this video is just the thing! :) My only question is about how you set up your template there in Logic. You have dozens of tracks, each with a single Stratus preset. Do you have to load the whole Stratus library and choose the preset you want for each track? Forgive my cluelessness. ;) 🤷‍♂️
