WRIST PAIN FIXED in 6 minutes | BABY FINGER SIDE OF THE WRIST | Physiotherapy | Physio Evangelist

Video intro credit to Logan Paul, may vine rest in peace.
In this video I talk about the TFCC. How it can get injured and how to solve a painful TFCC.
Instagram where I post drills and rehab:
/ movewithjustinyee
movewithjustinyee
We start by doing the piano key test and pain reproduction test to confirm that this is your problem.
Then we brace and Ice the newly injured wrist for as long as it takes for the pain and irritation to go. During this period, (between 2 days to 6 weeks, depending on severity) you want to keep moving your fingers by doing finger opposition exercises throughout your day. Do this for as long as your brace stays on.
For Icing, ice it for 20 minutes at a time.
After the bracing period
Stretch and strengthen it in flexion, extention, ulnar and radial deviation. Avoid supination and pronation for now.
After the pain is completely gone, and you feel recovered. Dont stop there.
Start supination and pronation, add resistance by holding a hammer.
You can also start doing grip strength training with a squishy ball.

@@vritsharma6496 It's a nagging injury. It's been over a year for me, but early on I was unable to get to physio because my injury happened almost exactly as the Covid lockdowns occurred. Anyway, I'm only now able to lift and do everyday things without worrying (too much) about pain returning. If you're feeling good at 2.5 months, count yourself lucky, and just take it slow. My physio therapist even said that some mild pain and irritation may be something I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. We'll see. I recommend the "wrist widget". It's specifically designed for TFCC tears/injuries. There's even a weight bearing test that comes with the wrist widget that will tell you if your injury is mild, moderate, or severe. Anyway, I just ordered some dumbbells and really excited to finally be able to get back to weightlifting. I will, however, be taking it slow. It's been a long journey and I don't want to re-injure myself just because I was impatient. Good luck! It sounds like you are on the road to recovery. :)

I have anatomy, sport massage and personal training knowledge which I got from various courses I did for my personal knwodlege. Lately in the last years lot of physioterapists, fitness influencers and every kind of medical person got onto youtube giving a lot of info. This guy is actually giving solid advices but most important is giving you a path to follow in the correct order. Most people just shows you do this to fix this. It's not like that. Pain, inflammation, tendons need to follow a gentle and ponderate recovery plan. This guy is giving you that plan without getting too technical on namings, deinflammatory protocols and so on. Really good I love this

I injured my wrist from racquetball, I've played for 11 years regularly without any problems, but then for one tournament, they changed the ball to a slower ball. I needed to hit the ball harder to get a type of shot that I wanted. I had pretty serious pain a few days after the tournament. I've been trying to recover for 4 months now, doing grip strengthening and some stretches. I will definitely be adding in the rubbing of scar tissue and holding off on supination and probation for now. Thank you so much!

it won't. These types of injuries go away on their own accord. Just try rest it and not trigger the pain, it will go away eventually, but this is just temprorary relief that won't make it heal any sooner. Placebo is strong though, maybe I shouldn't have said anything.

I’m a gymnast and I tore my TFCC from overuse in tumbling. I was terrified that I would need surgery, which didn’t have a great recovery prospect. If it’s hurting you should tell your boss since it’s a work related injury. They’ll more than likely want you to be seen by their workers comp doctor, but you need to have it documented. More than likely the doctor will give you light duty status until you recover. Due to the nature of your work, I don’t think light duty is an option, so your boss will likely tell you to take time off until the doctor clears you to return to full duty. Workers comp will cover your wages. Not sure how workers comp works with lost tips though. That’s something you’ll want to research ahead of time. What you don’t want to do is continue to work through the injury and continue to re-aggravate, or get laid off and now you can’t report it anymore so you go on to your next job with a messed up wrist that was never resolved at your previous job. Hope this helps!
