Wright BBQ Company Ribs on the Traeger Pro Series 34 Pellet Smoker

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

As mentioned in my meatloaf video, I have been a HUGE fan of Wright BBQ Company's Peach Chipotle Sauce and their all-purpose rub. It goes great on ribs, pulled pork, and makes burgers insanely delicious! These ribs came out so tasty and the sauce and rub have to take credit for that! I hope you enjoy this video. Cheers!

    Great job!! Those pellets are glossy because treager adds lots of things including a binder (glue) when pressing their pellets. I don’t use theirs anymore and have switched to pit boss or lumberjack.

    I really like Lumberjack, but I find they burn inconsistently. I started using BBQer’s Delight in the hopper for consistent burn and then Lumberjack in my smoke tube to get some nice smoke flavor. I’m really digging that combo.

    The shiny pellets is the oil Traeger uses for the wood flavoring. It is not a quality issue.

    I know you briefly touched on it in the video, but I know you use mustard a lot before you put your rub on. Any specific reason you used oil today over mustard? Just curious, as I'm learning :)

    So do you just leave it on the word smoke ? You don't start it at 180 correct?

  • @TheBrewQ

    @TheBrewQ

    5 жыл бұрын

    I start it on smoke with the lid open, wait til there is a fire in the fire pot, close the lid and set it to 225. You can leave it on smoke for like the first couple of hours if you want a heavier smoke flavor and then dial up to 225. Granted, it will add time to your cook but it can smog up your meat more.

    Well, I love the product that comes off a stick burner always. So far I have loved everything that has come off my pellet smoker as well. I like how convenient the pellet smoker can make things especially when chasing a little one around the house and not worrying about the fuel running out every other hour or so. It surprisingly does put out some fantastic bbq and has its place among all other types of smokers. As I get older, I find myself reaching for the convenient path. Sometimes I feel like changing it up and using the kamado for smoking (which is pretty much similar as far as convenience goes). I do still want to add a stick burner to my collection and may down the road. I hope this long answer helps answer your question lol

    The Brew-Q yes you answered my question😁. I truly understand the convince factor. I have 6 kids (4yrs to 26) so the time factor is huge. I’m definitely gonna try the butcher paper next time I cook ribs. Love the vids I always pick something up that I didn’t know😁

    How is the front vent during the cook? Open or partially open?

  • @TheBrewQ

    @TheBrewQ

    5 жыл бұрын

    There isn't a front vent, just an out pipe. its wide open the whole time. Since the system relies on a temperature probe and auger, there is no control of airflow with a pellet smoker.

    The Brew-Q just noticing. Thought they both came out great. I love the results on my pellet smoker. I’ve heard varying opinions on pellets, which is better than the others. Looks like you got a good burn rate. The best I’ve seen on average oaks about a pound an hour at 225-250 degrees. I think the pellets put plenty of smoke. Not overpowering just right. I get a great smoke ring and flavor.
