    Gerald Brisco won my respect when he put Triple H in his place about Kurt Angle. Trips had said that Kurt was too short to be WWF Champion & he wasn't tough. Gerald told him "Ok you & Kurt have a shoot fight & when he gets done kicking your ass you come talk to me"

    Lesnar would have beaten Shamrock prime vs prime. Shamrock would have gotten killed. He couldn't even finish a small Royce Gracie. Lesnar not only beat guys like Mir, Couture, and Carwin, he FINISHED them. Shamrock wouldn't have beaten any of those guys. I would agree Shamrock was more well rounded, like he would be able to out box or kick box Lesnar probably but Shamrock isn't stopping the take down. He's not tapping Lesnar from the bottom either, especially since the other fighters Lesnar fought couldn't except Mir but you can make the argument he got lucky.

    Was that Bobby The Brain Heenan behind The Honky Tonk Man? I used to hear interviews of him on the road and many of things went down in little restaurants like that. Just thinking back on what a huge loss Heenan was. To get paid so little at times and give so much is touching. His passion is epic and I think about him constantly when I hear two commentators interact. Nothing and I mean nothing beats Heenan and Monsoon discussing a match. It is the key to me being the fan I am.

    Shamrock was awesome, but his idea of beating Brock in his prime was delusional. Shamrock in his prime struggled against Royce Gracie, a 170 pounder with a very limited BJJ heavy skill set. An explosively athletic NCAA champion wrestler a hundred pounds bigger would destroy him, as would have a guy like Kurt Angle if he trained MMA for a decent amount of time.

  • @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252

    @miesvaillanykyisyytta3252

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@gst013 Shamrock had natural striking ability but he still did not need to throw any strikes to win champion strikers that were much taller than him. Based on that alone I'm not so sure if someone like Angle could have beaten him. You have a point about Royce but perhaps that had to do with the rules favoring his style as well and while Royce's offensive skill set was grappling based I don't think he went in there without understanding striking. When you're grappling someone that good at striking there are only so many ways to attack. So Royce was very good at attacking the legs but if he went in judo style trying to establish upper body dominance he would have been knocked out. All things considered Shamrock may not have been the best athlete under those terms and rules but his arsenal was pretty incredible. Even if he lost, he still had great versatility and arguably more value as a teacher.

    The only thing shamrock has over Mir is Stubborn toughness. Guy would let himself get beat to death just hoping for a hail mary win. So he might be in it a little longer than mir to try and snag something. But odds are, he wouldn't because lesnar was usually smart about position when throwing gnp. After his first mir fight he rarely over exposed to land gnp, would get secure position and then start raining down blows.So outside of Ken clipping him with something big on the way, just feel like lesnar dominates the position too much prime for prime.
