If KZread is being friendlier with Sunday uploads I might as well get another one done. This is my first go on the first of the 'under construction' (looks pretty complete to me) mixed tracks, ie tarmac and dirt. I set it at 3 laps as I didn't know how long the circuit is; if I go for it again I'll try 6-7 laps and upload next Sunday.
As for the race, I was crap. Started about half-way back on the grid and finished a miserable 11th. It could have been an only marginally better 10th but for a careless barrier hit towards the end of the final lap. Managed one very meaty, almost Smallfieldian follow-in, but my overall performance was pants. I suppose I'll get used to the layout eventually. The amount of dust didn't help; there were times when I couldn't see a damn thing. I love that on the ovals, even Figure of 8, because you know what the next bit of track does, but extricating myself from clouds on this track often required (literally) blind guesswork.
