Have you ever just looked around your home and thought, hmm.. would that make a great pouring tool? Yes!? Me too... so I am using an egg box or carton whatever you call it, and I am pouring using that as my main tool. This was sooooo much fun!

▶ Technique: Straight Pour
▶ Canvas size: 12x24 inches
▶ Pouring Medium formula: My paints are mixed with a Pouring Medium for all techniques unless otherwise stated in the video. The ratio I use is 1:3:1 Paint/Medium/Water. I use Floetrol/Owatrol for my medium. For those creations that I use water only (again I will say so in the video so please watch the full video for more details) Water only creations use the ratio of 1:1 paint to water.
▶ Color Palette:
Amsterdam: Phthalo blue, prussian blue, cobalt blue, brilliant blue, manganese blue.
Pebeo: Precious Gold, Paynes Grey (Base)
Winsor & Newton: Cerulean Blue
▶ Hair dryer: When I use a hair dryer I use the Remington D3010 and always use the cool setting and the lowest blow speed.

Being a minimalist, I loved the base paint on its own 😅. But the egg carton? That was brilliant and it all came out beautiful. I need an egg carton now🍥🍥🍥.

WOOOOOW Mark, this is definitely one of the most beautiful pieces that I have seen so far. What a great idea to use an egg box as a pouring cup and the designs you created with the pallet knife are so beautiful. I was a bit sad when I saw all the background design disappear when you tilted. But the end result is absolutely gorgeous without the blue/grey edges. It may sound a bit mad, but to me this piece looks like a huge centipede under floating water. Sometimes (like a few days ago) one of those unpleasant critters finds its way into my house, but the cats always "take care of them". Anyway, great job again. It was fun to watch and I hope to see more of this technique with different colour palettes 🖒💖

I see a pod of whales and their tails. This is quite whimsicle in an amazing way. Love the colors and the gold added a beautiful touch. An Egg Carton tool looks like fun too. So cool!

Bravo Mark, This painting is really MAGNIFICENT, WONDERFUL andReally GORGEOUS L…!!! I want to tell you that you always surprise us by painting with articles we already have in our home.. That is the beauty of your videos, so Mark continue surprising us.. You asked us to tell you if we were going to try this one and if so what colors, Well there is my problem so I hope you will help me…?? My favorite colors are purple and turquoise (even if they are not together) what i want to know is if i use different purple colors in my egg carton witch metallic color should I use between silver and gold…?? Also what colors should I use for my backIng( I want to use 2 colors like you did) Pls, Pls give me hand in realizing my dream painting, Thank-you so, so, so… much… Johanne, xxx…

Thank you so much Johanne - I appreciate your kind support. Purples sound like fun! I’d defo opt for the gold! Have you also thought about a rose gold? The base maybe go for something light what about a sky blue or a pale pink? Something that will help the purple pop?
That is so FABULOUS. The gold looks like burning embers. Egg carton?? How clever. I poured a piece a couple of days ago. (Turkey feather floral, with Pearlescent paints). For my base I poured large stripes of Payne's Gray, Lamp Black and PEBEO #360 IRIDESCENT BLUE BLACK. The Pebeo, would look awesome on your piece as part of your base. Have you used it? It dries BEAUTIFUL. Thanks, Mark.

Thank you so much. I love pebeos blue black. It’s an amazing color and I used that as a base color a while ago. I’ve just purchased some deco art pewter which I’m going to try next 🤩
