WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers flat out on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat. Power slides, drifts, big jumps, watersplashes, handbrake turns, hairpin bends, lucky escapes, big moments or a massive crash. Rally requires maximum attack and careful tactics to become world rally champion.
Rally drivers take turns to complete closed road "special stages" as quickly as possible, setting off a few minutes apart. A co-driver reads pace notes to describe the hazards ahead. The same rally car is used to travel to each stage on public roads following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. WRC is administered by the FIA Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile FIA, motorsport's world governing body.
Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers : Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. Champions from Finland are Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm and Hannu Mikkola. French rally drivers have dominated 8 times with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times with Sébastien Loeb. Famous motorsport drivers have attempted WRC like Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1 and Ken Block from Rallycross.
Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers. The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Citroen and Volkswagen became champions in the 2000s along with M-Sport team using the Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018 and 2021. Hyundai won in 2019 and 2020 with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. best childhood ever, very memorable. wish i ever had such experience. we dont have wrc in Ghana like many africa countries, but some day we will. its my dream to start motorsports to ghana.

Wow, as I grew up, the toughest rally, The Safari Rally used to come during Easter weekend. It was a special weekend. I can still remember some great names of those days: Hannu Mikkola famously known as the flying Finn (RIP), Bjorn Waldegard, Juha Kankunnen, Carlos Sainz, Colin McRae, not forgetting our own local heros: Mike Kirkland, Patrick Njiru, Ian Duncan, Vic Peston, Azar Anwar, Shekar Mehta, etc. But I do not remember these sections they call 'special stages'. It was about speed, yes on some rough sections which tested the machine and human endurance

The Lancia Integrale's of Miki Biasion, Bjorn Waldegaard and Juha Kankunnen were the best cars of the Safari Rally Kenya, those were the days when we could see a Lancia driving past through Mombasa, Mwatate, Taita.

This is cool. Been getting into motorsports. And this just pops up. What’s a easy way to compare kph to mph? Only thing is i wish there was like a track overlay to see how much they have left.

1 mph is 1,6 kph, just have 160 kph as a reference point which is 100 mph, makes things easier. Oh and also, if you want to see the real speed of rally, check out rally finland 2021. Also, finland 2022 starts 4th of august

Why put the camera on the dash… might be the worst view possible for spectators
Rally is great, but what I think is bad is the comentators and too many pictures of the pilots and from inside the car; I would like to see the cars and some enthusiastic comments

@@freekuki exactly the same route, it's not impossible that the start and stop lines might have moved slightly, but yeah they're slightly faster. it might be that the teams and drivers are now more used to these style of roads, but on the whole it has seemed all year that the extra hybrid power makes up for the extra weight, less complex diffs, aero and suspension, and the lost gear.

For god sake will you please becs and co quit your over selling stuff with fake-promises of rain forecasts. Such a safe risk in a AC commentary booth. Let me ask for a option in WRC+ - which we pay for- allowing us all a NO COMMENTARY OPTION. No need for them voices, as we are here FIRST to listen to the co-drivers and the cars.
