@@MrMedalice That's right. Juha Kankkunen has later explained that tyre choice is part of the rally strategy so, of course, he's not going to tell publicly which tyres he'll be using. Question out of curiosity: Given the long history/legacy/presence of Swedish in Finland, I know Swedish is an official language in Finland and even Finland has their own Swedish-speaker Finns, which I assume have mostly Swedish last names. Now, is it a thing Finnish-speaking Finns to have Swedish last names? I ask because Grönholm despite having a Swedish last name, his accent sounds REALLY Finnish.
@urdad5824

@@ivanmacgar6447 im finnish speaking fin and my last name is swedish. It's not very uncommon to have a swedish last name, even if you only speak finnish. The last name doesn't really tell you which language you speak.

@@urdad5824 thanks for the info. I expected it to be a bit more clear cut, but I get it. I currently live in Belgium (not a Belgian though) and here it's not uncommon to find Dutch-speaking Belgians with French last names or French-speaking Belgians with Dutch last names. Ofc not the most common thing, but it is a thing as well.

when you find out you're maailmanmestari (Finnish for world champion) and you react in the most Finnish way by not celebrating it like crazy let alone mention it. Finnish modesty, Finnish humility, Finland at its finest. In Finland its people let their work and results do all the talking, no need to toot your own horn. If foreigners mention a Finn's achievement so much at most the Finn would say 'I get that alot'. Never change, Finland and Finnish people, never change!!! It's interesting how your people don't brag. They're not chanting 'Finland/Suomi' a million times all day all night long unless if Finland wins. And if I asked you for example 'so how does it feel to have won for Finland?' you'd be like 'thank you, it doesn't change my life alot'. I know Finland and Finns let the work do all the talking. Being a F1 fan myself I noticed this is how Kimi Räikkönen is. A long long time ago, my country, the USA, had a President called Theodore Roosevelt, who famously said 'speak softly and carry a big stick'. Never underestimate the power of quietness and Finland is displaying this in buckets. Finland doesn't have to say anything, just do. :) Motorsports wise the USA isn't taking that award, this American has to award it to Finland for letting the work do all the talking and bringing the good results. And love your brutal honesty, you tell it like it is. And the humility (this is used in English speaking countries, I've heard that Finland refers to this same concept as modesty) you all have. Down to earth and not showboating the awards and good results. America and the rest of the world could learn from Finland with these qualities.
