About National Geographic:
National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. Through their world-class scientists, photographers, journalists, and filmmakers, Nat Geo gets you closer to the stories that matter and past the edge of what's possible.
One example is the annual “Round Up,” when the family joins with a group of wranglers to herd their horses to lower elevations for the winter. This exhaustive three-day ritual could be simplified with modern technology, but the practice endures as a testimony to their way of life. In this short film by Kristopher Rey-Talley, join the Kelsey family in Montana as they embark on their yearly trip with the horses through the land they cherish.

What struck me(after the beautiful horses)was his humility. Just a guy doing what he loves, every person’s dream.
If more people from the big cities and surrounding suburbs understood how tough life on the ranch/farm is... I'd like to think they would show more respect.

🤔🤔🤔...is it not a choice to live this lifestyle? All the people doing these "live off the land" vlogs...are recording in 4k...with drones...creating productions. That cost money...money that "living" off the land isn't going to provide.

Although I like this video very much the title of this video is misleading. These are not wild horses they are Appaloosas that are bred, raised, trained and used for the dudes at the 9 Quarter Circle dude ranch. That is what makes this ranch so intriguing to me is the reliance on the Appaloosa horse and I applaud the ranch for this as the Appaloosa breed has been neglected for quite some time. It is great to see so many of these particular horses in one place. Thank you for the video but consider a name change.

I like this guy a lot, he does not think of himself as a very special person. He is contrary to what many youth's today are or at least think they are... as special snowflake. However he still is proud over what he does and strives to live a great life. Wish more people including me would be more like him.

Elias Öhman I think it would be pretty tough to think of oneself as being anything but rather insignificant when surrounded by all the forces of nature and geology, yk? Perhaps Mr. Ohman, there are more commonalities than you yet recognize between you and Kameron despite the overt differences in the circumstances of your respective lives. Best wishes.

Very nicely put. I'll always remember those times ~ When the horse comes to you (or visa~versa), & in the 'air' of the world surronding you, moves ever so effortlessly, calmly, close... creating a feeling of oneness.. neither will forget... Those moments will be known, remembered, breathe'd... •• ~ seimpre ~ •• Decency cost $0.00, Respecting cost $0.00, Pretty great start on a experience lasting a lifetime. Thank you for sharing😌 it's nice to know that someone, or other's ~ think this. 👍🏻 😏

It's my dream to one day be a part of the ranch life. It's just so amazing being in the middle of nowhere and having to survive on what you have. One day I'll.get there... one day. For now it's just a small farm 2 miles outside of town.
Wow what a life. All those horses. Loved seeing them. Love appaloosas so i was in heaven
It's a nice life style. I have a similar life style. I'm lucky. I also have and love horses. I keep them in as close to a natural wild state as possible. Watching them run and play and graze in a natural state is awesome. Seeing how they actually behave in nature is amazing. I keep the stallion and mares and foals together. After about 3 months of being full time mom's those mares get tired, That's where the stallion comes in. He teaches his babies and plays with them and takes them out for the day, giving the mares a break.
Less than ten minutes to have a message get across , this is an amazing film
So wonderful that simple, pure life. I owned horses many years and lived in the country. Nothing better than riding the horse in the mountains when the dew is on the grass and it's just almost sunrise...

Been through Idaho, Wyoming, and part of Montana. Beautiful country, you can not see it without knowing something bigger than human life created such magnificence. Love the American West! Wild horses also exist on the East Coast in North Carolina beaches and Virginia Chincotegue island, a hold over of a past time, and they are beautiful to see wandering the beaches.
