I feel like ep.9 walked so that 10 could run. As much as I love seeing Rimuru pop-off on bad guys. Seeing the rest of cast get a chance to kick-ass is so satisfying.

The "Thought Acceleration isn't wearing off" means this guy spent about 50 minutes "to reflect on his evil deeds" inside his own head. Observed during the French Revolution, those who had their heads chopped with a Guillotine stuck around for 10 seconds until their brain passed out from no blood circulation. 10sec x 300 = 50Min

I feel like an episode dedicated to set-up is appropriate when you're about to go into the climactic battle between two nations. That's not something you just go into. Especially not when you've already had a lot of casualties on your side. Rimuru's state of mind after what happened makes him want to win this battle with not a single other casualty on his side.

I dont know if you are going to read the Light Novel but here some slight insight into the ability, Meggido. Its not really spoilery but I will mark it anyway SPOILER He uses water spirits to continuously create water droplets and great sage in combination with water control to create perfect lenses. There are some interesting aspects about this ability. First, its extremely energy efficient because he is using water spirits to create water. Water control is an easy task and with the almighty calculation power of raphael its an easy task to calculate all those light rays. What wasnt mentioned here is that this is real light he is shooting, not magic. That renders every normal magic barrier useless since it doesnt protect from sunlight This ability is effectively only usable by rimuru and he himself came up with it beforehand specifically for this. Downsides are for example when there is no sunlight, the ability cant be used. Also technically the enemy could do something about the spirits since they are low level spirits

The Megiddo is actually physics. He created lenses to focus the sunlight like a magnifying glass. Basically he killed them like ants. Megiddo isn't magical in nature so it works with the magical barrier. At least I think this is correct. Someone should confirm.

yeah, he controls the water with water spirits which aren't blocked by the anti-magic barrier. Its explained better in the novel

Basically if Elemental Magic is you hacking Physics, Spirit Magic is basically souped up stuff that obeys the Laws of Physics by its very nature, making it immune to Anti-Magic Barrier, since it's just legit physical phenomenon and not something that Magic forces to exist against Laws of Physics

Hey Joe! Love all of your content. Concerning Megiddo: This isn't spoilers really, just an explanation of the skill itself. However, just to be safe... Possible spoilers. Megiddo focuses light via the water as lenses, reflecting it with the water droplets. The water manipulation is a skill and not magic, so it still works in the anti-magic area. Also, the water manipulation skill is something Rimuru got waaaaaaaay back in the first few episodes.

Thing is most of Rimuru's officials if not all of them are on the upper end of A-rank in monster categories. They were all calamity-class monsters and one step away from Disaster-class which demon lords belong. They only suffered losses due to the barrier and the monsters holding back due to Rimuru's wish not to have any human casualties in town. If any of them had intentions of killing them, even with the barrier upon them, they could still kill the invaders quickly before the barrier takes full effect.

One thing i like more in the web novel version than the light novel/anime is rimuru, he is just ruthless he didn't even call help during the attack on falmunth army because he wanted to kill them all himself and he admitted the only reason he spared is myulan because she revealed that there's a chance shion can be saved he never pull the punches to those actually tried to harm them

Tempest does hold a lot of meetings. But they are very important. The planning and sharing of information is essential because they are out to win and don’t want to jump in blindly. Rimiru is a very calculating person and does not rely on luck to fight his battles. It’s just too bad the anime is bad with having so much useless padding, so this feels dragged out.

Eeeeevery time I watch this awesome episode, I wish they could have included Rimiru blasting off limbs and exploding heads or whatever, during Meggido. To watch the whole army's morale and hope just melt into the land....yummy.

Yes, the LN had a lot more despair of the soldiers and body parts flying around. There was also a lot more screaming, crying and loosened bowels.

Really??? It was only because of Shuna that she did not kill the whole crowd of people in Tempest. They were just innocent bystanders and even humans were among the monsters they were trying to frame. Would you let someone off just because they were not successful if they try to kill you? Plus she made false sexual assault charges against Gobzo and was getting everyone to believe her because of her skill. With they way she acted she definitely killed other people or caused their deaths and didn’t care about any innocent people who got in her way.

This is a show who relies heavily on world building. This is not about character journey from zero to hero. If have zero patience for exposition, then you shouldve just stop watching this show instead of complaining. Cuz plenty more as it gets more political. You also assumes to much too fast. Give it a time, & enjoy the ride, you'll feel rewarded. Otherwise stop, cuz it gets annoying when people say they enjoy a show yet complains half the show about no consequences & yet too slow. You ignored the expositions, thats why you dont understand & feel the consequences. Thus, youre not enjoying the show, you're just enjoying the fight, which is not really the focus of the show. Just saying.
