Russ, a heads up, when you max a relic to the final form, you can talk to a vendor that will sell you any of the previous versions as level 1 replica override for 1000 gil. You should do that before getting rid of the item so you permanently have all the appearances unlocked~ It's really great for being able to glam whichever version you want to go with your current glam outfit.

important to note: you need to have the zeta weapon in your inventory and talk to that npc at least one time in order to unlock that option. the nirvana zeta was the first one i completed and was so confused why i didn't have the option open to me until after i brought the zeta to that npc.

@@EclipseBlade1871 also important note: if you turn in your completed relic for the first HW relic step, you also have permanent access to all the replicas....or so ive been told lol

​@@red5robb1 Done this twice, can confirm. Trading in the Zeta feels intimidating but it's the correct thing to do for permanent replica access.

There are a few comments in here with slightly incorrect info: You do not need to bring the Zeta with you if you do not have it anymore. However, curiously, if you have the Zeta either in your saddlebag or on a retainer, the game detects it and requires you to bring it in your main inventory or equipped to purchase a replica. All other relics after Zodiac do not do this though, and purely detect whether you've done it at all or not. Talking to them with the Zeta to view replicas, then putting the Zeta away doesn't allow you to continue seeing the replicas, iirc. It's very "ARR" in its inconsistency and jank lol.

It's worth remembering that the final step for each weapon is dyable. I love my Yoichi Zeta, but I dye it so that the color scheme flows a bit better to my taste.

@@hoodiesticks Unfortunately no. None of the gear in FFXIV changes glow effects. So for the weapons that you can hardly see through the glow, dyeing changes nothing. The Zeta weapons aren't so bad with that though so dye can make a difference

As someone who has all of the ARR relics, the grind really isnt that bad. Especially when done slowly over time. There are even a couple steps that can be done at the same time if you take a minute to plan it out.

You can make all relics glow on your back. Make a macro with /sit /battlemode

@@CrisperPoet I don't remember. I think the MCH gun? Someone tried to show me in a roulette and it just wouldn't work. I think maybe they forgot the /bm?

Lance of longelous is pretty sick and definitely worth grinding for. Took me a few weeks of casual grinding between the regular grind to get it.

I actually gabe up on my Gae Bolg upgrades at Nexus because I didn't have the cash or seals to purchase the things needed. I could probably go back to it now that I'm nearing the end of Shadowbringer, but I really like the Padjal Spear as my glam.

Tbh, once you complete 1 ARR relic and 1 HW relic, Gerolt unlocks the best relic in the game for monk. The Nexus Kettles. So you can dress your monk as a fancy butler really aggressive about serving tea.

Cant wait for your reaction of the MCH HW relic xD

If you want your weapon to glow while on your back, there is a macro that you can use to glitch the weapon, so it glows while it's on your back.

If you finish an arr relic, it is super worth it to do the kettle quest afterwards, as doing it also unlocks a separate set of monk weapons that are just tea kettles

just gonna throw this out there, there are a lot of good summoner and Scholar books, but hands down Ktiseos Index/Codex have the best cover, and I am willing to go without a glow effect to keep it.

When it comes to Monk classes, I always like the weapons that pretty much give the impression that you're only using your fists and nothing like a spike weapon or such. I've only seen two Monk weapons fit into that category. "Emperor's New Fists" which makes it look like you ARE actually just using your fists, which makes it a great glamour, and then there's... I forgot the name of it but it's a weapon that puts a fire mark on the back of your hands and that's it. Just so you know, my main class in FF14 is Machinist currently so I'm no Monk main. Might change to Viper or Dancer.

There is also the monk weapons you can get from the Sephirot extreme raid. They're a pair of gauntlets that always stay on your arms and gives a cool steampunk power glove type aesthetic.

There are a number of monk weapons that appear to just be gauntlets too. The middle tier of Shadowbringers tomestone weapons are like this. The level 70 job weapon (can be upgraded to glow in Eureka Anemos) also does this. I think the one with the mark you are thinking of is the Makai set from pvp.

my goal was/is to get all paladin relics, they're so cool, paladins are so fun, sword and board tanking all the way WAAAAAAAAAAUW! Curtana holy shield 115 version! Just don't play that hardcore anymore, but maybe one day!

@@JustRuss Oh I think you'll definitely love the HW paladin relic. The final two steps for it are sooo nice. Also the dark knight one too. Perfection.

Imma be real with you chief. As someone who did an arr relic, just do Ultima weapon ultimate. The weapons are based on these but look better are less of a torturous grind😢
