I think he came across as originally a good guy opposing lolorito and changed side shortly after. That reference was to way back then 😂 I knew he was bad news going into the banquet for sure but I felt betrayed and I didn’t want to believe in all Lala fells being evil like people say 👀

​​@@JustRuss I mean... Sultana was a good well behaved if a bit too naive girl. Momiji is always there for New adventureres. Thautamurge guild boys are a bit trigger happy but also swell Lalafels. Pipin saved Alphinaud and helped you to get out of country. There are actually a lot of good Lalafells around. Warrior of Light just had the luck to stick his/her nose right into Ul'dah's politics and ended up grinded into dust together with Scions BECAUSE everyone just had to act in such a way that will greatly affect Syndicate's bottom line.

Sidenote: unlike us, the WoL, Minfilia is no warrior. Cannonically she is a miner, and if you ever played any gatherer job... they dont do dmg ^^ You'd think you can do dmg with a pike or axe but... nope. You dont. I once tried and fail to kill a lvl 5 mob as a lvl80 gatherer. That should give you an impression of how usefull Minfilia is in battle. Doesnt mean she is useless: she is a strategist, a tactician, a speaker, a leader. And no, you dont need to "kick ass" to do that. Sadly, Minfilia's story was only really told in 1.0 and never in ARR. There are a few side comments about how her father was killed, how she grew up fending for herself at a young age, how F'Lamin watched over and trained her, that Thancred was her friend... that she made sure the Scions existed in the first place and kept up the good fight against primals, Ascians and the Empire. In short: not quite what one would call "useless" ^^ As for doing the classic "fight your way out" ... remember: though corrupt, the Brass Blades are still the "police" of Uldah, and many of them are good folk who need to feed their families, who only follow orders and who have no idea whats going on. You and the Scions are the "good guys" ... you cant run around slaughtering your way through a city, especially considering the fact you could injure or kill innocent bystanders. So yeah, flight is the only option, unsatisfying as it might be >. Dont blame her: we only ever heard Tataru's voice once when we were introduced to the Scions XD I dont think we ever heard her again after that - until this last cutscene XD Uri: "Speak and make thine intent known" - aka "jo, wtf you want?" ^^

Thancred is actually like a big brother to a father to her. That's how close they were, or believes to him he's like a big brother to her. (He tells this to Krile when they were infiltrating in Heavensward coz she was getting the wrong idea about their relationship and he wasn't happy about that) Edit: OMG I'm sorry I wasn't thinking when I said this coz it could've been a spoiler but Russ is thankfully further in the story! i'm sorry it's my first time on this channel! >_

If I remember correctly, its (CLAN LETTER)'(Personal Name) (Father Name) for suncat ladies, and suncat dudes are just (Letter)'(Name) Tia/Nunh based on whether they lead the clan or not

Funny Note: Yuyuhase’s voice in the Japanese Dub is SO DEEP. Saw a clip of it and bursted out laughing. Looking back it’s honestly crazy to see how they set the player and team up to fall so hard. Especially considering how they’re all heroes yet the power hungry people didn’t give a damn. Genuinely great job from the writers to make things so dire and push into Heavensward (trailer is still amazing)

Just a little lore for you, the travelling merchant who is your ride out is one of 3 brothers and which one you encounter is always the one who escorted you to Eorzea all dependant on where you started your journey.

Yep I remembered him from the very first cutscene and I remember meeting the 3 brothers after fighting the ultima weapon so I assume who you get in that scene changes depending on your starting city 👀

Ah, the true 2.x experience. Pain, pain and more pain. It's so brilliantly done, this was where the game truly became an unparalleled classic for me. The Waking Sands hurt. This is *agony*.

I was just playing a fresh sprout alt last week and noticed they changed something in a particular waking sands scene concerning the floating cabbage. Unless I accidently skipped something, they cut that part out. The scene is sad, but it was also sad I didn't see it, so...

The ending, stabs you in the heart, then stabs you in the gut, and finally...stabs you in the back.

Fun fact about Thancred: In the Chronicles of Light novel, Minfilia actually calls Thancred out in one story by telling him he’s a womanizer for all the girls he deflowered. I read that and I was literally going WTF.

In fairness, this predates the Red Wedding by almost a decade.

Yeah for me ARR was the standard okay fetch quests from years ago. BUT THEN the post-ARR ending came in swinging and really makes you sit up.

And this proves why Lalafell are the most dangerous in all of Eorzia.

45:18 - Y'mitra is the summoner job trainer and Y'shtola's sister. Thancred views Minfilia like a daughter or much younger sister, because he took her into his care after he was partially responsible for her father's death in 1.0.

@@unlimited971 ​ All good. If you search "1.0 ul'dah intro" you can see Thancred, Minfilia, and F'lhaminn. Thancred's appearance is pretty obvious, but F'lhaminn is the miq'ote handing out flowers, and Minfilia is the little girl that she gave the basket to.

The community tends to rag on ARR, but honestly, I still can't hate it. I don't even dislike it. It has some good moments and it's the foundation for the entire storyline.

I never fully got used to Tataru's voice actor after ARR. I loved the OG Tataru voice actor but I've never found any mention of WHO it was. Like they were straight up erased! Too sad. Not dissing the current VA, they do a lovely job. But I'll always have a soft warm spot for the OG Tataru's voice 💖.

its unfortunate i was spoiled on the poison and the cut arm, everything else in this cutscene i was thankfully spoiler free on....however..... SPOILERS FOR THOSE THAT HAVE SEEN THIS CUTSCENE BUT HAVENT DONE MUCH AFTER!!! if you read after this you were warned and its your own fault i hate how they basically back-pedalled on her death saying it was a 'sleeping' potion and that Lolorito isnt as 'bad' as the story made him out to be up to this point. ive only recently done The Aery dungeon so if things change later for this plot point idk it yet, but its just been done poorly imo so far
