Wings are not very strong they do flex a lot, has a fiberglass rod stiffener in wing but its not strong enough, but this is way it came from Factory.

Jeff, good video and you are a very good modeler! But whoever made the comments about the F7F Tigercat was mistaken. Being an old, and I do mean old, retired Navy pilot with a lot of time behind radial engines I would like to set the record straight. The Grumman F7F Tigercat was developed at the end of WW II. It failed carrier tests and was given to the Marines as a land based fighter and Marine pilots flew it in Korea. The plane was in service until 1954. Thanks for listening. Have fun!

Exactly Jeff, things happen and when I burn one in and it's unrepairable I take the attitude of oh well time to buy another one. As long as nobdy was hurt or other's property was not damaged, it doesn't bother me. So many other things that affect all of us going on today in this world that is unavoidable, crashing a plane isn't one of them. Life's too damn short, the little things are just that...little.

I was really impressed with the Grumman Tigercat. Really a beautiful aircraft both in 1:1 and in scale model. I liked the fact that it was using electric motors, too. Electric power is something new to me and it's really neat. I enjoyed your outing almost as well as you guys. FYI the Tigercat was a product of the Korean war era when jet technology made the Tigercat almost obsolete as soon as it was introduced. Too bad for such a beauty in design. One of my favorites.

I built a twin engine out of that old kit that was a styrofoam wing...PVC square body...with a piece of aluminum channel running through the centre to the tail..which was a wooden rudder & elevator. It was twin .25 nitro engines...very fast. Anyway...I forgot to put the alerion screw back in the servo....so it did one fast pass..then the servo arm popped off lol!!! Had to shut the engines down & bring her down in the mud....big hole in the muddy ground. The trainer was made to fly apart in an accident..so everything survived. Twin engines are so fun & fast. You can imagine how heavy the plane was...but it had the power lol. I was a novice & not use to rudder flying ..so I had to bring it down.

The Lovely Denise showed me this vid with your pal breaking the nose off his Dynam A-10 while launching it, and she actually said "Haven't they seen our video?" I said probably not- you actually can crash that plane at over 60MPH with no damage other than the cannon getting torn off if it's reinforced- check out our Dynam A-10 Plows a Field video!

Thanks! They're fun to make, but the big point is that they're real. I hate breaking planes, and I love stuff that works. By the time I heard it was "impossible" to make planes hard to break, I was already way past that point- LOL. I highly recommend reinforcing foamies, since it only takes about as much time to do as the repairs from one crash. BTW- you guys near New York?

The Grumman F7F Tigercat is a heavy fighter aircraft that served with the United States Navy (USN) and United States Marine Corps (USMC) from late in World War II until 1954. It was the first twin-engine fighter to be deployed by the USN. While the Tigercat was delivered too late to see combat in World War II, it saw action as a night fighter and attack aircraft during the Korean War. I work for www.courtesyaircraft.com as a Ferry Pilot and had the honor flying a real one from Rockford, IL to Chino, CA. We are a broker for any type of warbird. Just last week I flew a couple T-6's and T-28 and last month I ferried a OV-1 Mohawk which had actual combat time in Vietnam flew with the US Army.

Can you tell us who the F7F Tigercat is made by and where to purchase? BTW-y'all are my type of pilot's-not uptight, over analytical or obnoxious! I don't like burning one in but when it happens...it happens. The guys that come over and immediately try to determine what went wrong and bend my ear about it don't appreciate it when I snap and tell them to go get a job at the NTSB or just keep telling me what I may or may not know and you'll be wearing your nuts as earrings in a minute if you don't hush up. I fly for fun and can laugh at my mistakes, I don't need 3-4 guys arguing about what I may have done wrong or some sort of mechanical failure. I have been known to fly a plane that I hate and turn into a kamikaze pilot aiming for the biggest tree or to see how many death spirals I can make before it turns into a yard dart. Their reactions are priceless when this happens! Every year I host a dove hunt for friends and family on our property, the highlight for the past 4 years has been "The no fly zone" where I fly a couple of HK crappers and we shoot them down, amazed at some of the hits they can take and still fly. Now my buddies are interested in flying these things and we have been having a blast...literally! Showed the video to sme of the club members and they acted like we were drowning kittens while kicking puppies like footballs...eh who cares I like to have fun! Keep flying, crashing, rebuilding and crashing!

@@jcherry50 I know but still mean and annoying to have somebody there wishing bad luck to their friends all the time just for him to have fun. I'm an RC pilot too, and when I build a model or fix one, I put many hours into that project. When you do that you experience a feeling of achievement, and the least you want is to lose your model right away!... Of course, I know that to crash is part of the hobby, but the main idea of the game is not to do it... That's why having someone at the field talking about crashes or wishing for one to happen all the time loud voiced is not only mean but of bad taste... If you are a pilot too, you should know what I'm talking about... Have a great day!... Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🇵🇷🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🇵🇷
