It is supposed to be a real historical person. Veronika Deseniška (1380 - 1425) was the second wife of Frederick II. of Celje, but since she was a noblewoman of a lower status, Friderik's father, the powerful Count Herman II of Celje, did not approve of their union. When Friderik and Veronika fled to Fridrihštajn castle near Kočevje, where they secretly got married, old Herman sent an army after them with the order to capture them. Friderik managed to save Veronika from the castle, but he was captured by the soldiers and imprisoned in the tower at Celje Castle - this is still called Friderik's Tower. He was imprisoned here for more than four years, Veronica was also captured and imprisoned. Herman accused the unhappy Veronika of being a prostitute who seduced his son. They organized a trial that lasted two days, and although the judges found no guilt, let alone a crime, Herman had her murdered. he basically accused her of witchery and drowned her

That was the best song in this year Eurovision. She is professional, very talented opera singer and composer. This song is a piece of art. The voice is incredible, vocalise imposible to perform for random singer, but she is capable to perform it, clip full of symbols, lyrics too, refer to historical figure, beautiful language. And she looks stunning! What to say, I am a musician, also a girl and I am totally impressed by her.

Real Veronica was drowned not burned, but yes she was wronglly accused of witchcraft! The best lyrics in the song is:"I'm a mirror without edges.only the reflections of your gears..."

That's horrible what they did... But it makes sense to put fire in the music video cause it's a common reference for women who where accused of witchcraft!

Hi man! Ok so this one is interesting, there are mystical sounds, there is power and epicness, stunning visuals, very artsy but where is the song? Where is the melody? Where is the chorus? You can't sing along with this song. The singer is really competent and gorgeous but the song itself does nothing to me, it's messy. It's only based on visuals, it's not a song but more a performance which is not bad for Eurovision, Georgia vibes of last year though... Conclusion after several listens I can't sing this song in my head I can't remember it... won't have it on loop on Spotify I fear. But it can come really alive on the Esc stage why not, good luck to Slovenia.

I understand that but I don't mind that. I don't like songs only when they are catchy. Maybe because of my acting background and having done physical theatre performance, I am very drawn to these kind of songs that are performance centric. Like Blanka Paloma last year. So it's a big yes for me for sure !!

@@Kostis_ESC OK I get your point, I couldn't stand Eaea last year so logically this one is not my cup of tea, but I respect totally your feeling, if it makes you feel something that's great. It's very avant-garde in style, the jury could appreciate, the televoters not sure, will see 😉. You could say I like Remitente but not this one so it's not logical but Remitente has this melody and this chorus that makes me feel something, Veronika feels more cold and inaccessible to me.
