I got one the other week and I can't put it down. I use to be a regular gigging uke player, but haven't really played at all the last handful of years. My Flight Centurion (named it after 50s pinup Betty Brosmer) reignited my passion for uke.

I've fallen in love with my Flight Centurion. It took a little while to adjust to metal strings and a narrower neck than I've been used to, but it's been well worth the effort. With either headphones or unplugged, it's a great way to practice at night without annoying your partner/flat mates etc. I'd add two slight words or warning. Firstly, I've read that there can be quite a bit of variation in the setup when they leave the factory. So, unless it's something you are comfortable doing yourself, I'd recommend buying from a dedicated music shop who will set it up for you. It may cost a little more, but IMO is well worth it. Secondly, you might just catch a nasty case of "pedal acquisition syndrome" as you suddenly realise, they sky's the limit when modifying the signal heading for your amp!

now you don't play Ukelele around the campfire anymore (unless you want to scare away the wolves and bears), but in a stadium during a rock concert. This sounds great!

Love my Les Paul-style Gold Top Flight Centurian ukulele. I lucked out. mine did not need a whole lot of setup out of the box other than better string (D'Addario NYXL 10-52)

Terry, You are a university-educated jazz guitarist, so you should show how these ukuleles resemble solid-body guitars that jazz guitarists play, and how to adjust them for the best jazzy sound. Jazz guitarists mostly play hollow- or semi-hollow-body arch-top electric guitars, but quite a few prefer the sound of Fender Telecasters which are solid body, usually with single-coil pickups as from the factory but often the guitarists change them to humbuckers like these Flight ukuleles have. I put a low-G string on one of my solid-body electromagnetic ukuleles ( different brand, not Flight) to get better jazzy sounds. And on another one I replaced all of the strings with flat-wound steel strings in thicker gauges so I could tune them to baritone ukulele DGBE, making that one a compact tenor-size baritone. I like both. I play them clean (no distortion overdrive or other effects) through a Vox Pathfinder 10 amp, which sounds good with these ukes.

Love this, thinking of getting one, I prefer the sound over the Risa, as its more edgy, distorted and rock sounding. Please review the Brian May guitar's tenor Uke (electroacoustic)! No decent sound samples of it anywhere.

I did a review for Tapestry Music with my Flight Centurion Sunburst Solid body Les Paul Style linear low G electric tenor and posted it on KZread and Bitchute. While playing mine and changing the tone knobs my Centurion does change its tone all the way. You may have gotten a lemon. One thing you forgot to mention and demonstrate was the sustain. I did use the tools after doing my review to lower the action and it made the playability better. I'm thinking of replacing my strings already and will be going with Ernie Ball Boomer electric strings. Eric Clapton uses them and I like the sound he gets from them. Curious if you've changed your string on your Flight Centurion or Risa look a like and what strings you like?

In general, a humidity between 45-55 will prevent dry cracking and moist swelling. If you live in an extreme climate, consider buying a $12 humidifier to stash in your ukulele case. With a little extra maintenance, you're instrument will stay newer longer.

There's an infinity of differences in various distortions and other effects, of which the overuse masks how the instruments actually sounds. This makes some customers (like me) wonder what yer trying to hide under the effects. Unless ye waste more time explaining the setting for each effects used, its far more better to put a bit more focus on the clean sound so the potential customers can make a decent judgement on the instrument's sound. It's easier for one to imagine how a clean tone would turn into when the effects are on versus trying to determine how it really sounds sans effects, especially if the effects brand/model and settings are unknown. Mind ye, I dont begrudge ye playing with the effects, as that'll tell us how it may sound, but unless we buy the same setup, it's not realistic for most customers to be able to duplicate that easily. A clean sound can let us decide how it may sound when used with OUR own setup. Yer videos with the Risa vs Flight Strat ukes had VERY little clean tones, similarly your "ultimate" shootout featured little clean tones between the Risa and Flite Strats. Also, your clean isn't very clean, methinks your amp is set rather hot. Might be better to set it where its just below breakup for demo purposes. Amp distortion is another thing that unless the customer have a similar rig it's not realistic to expect the customer to easily duplicate with differing gears. Another thing, in post-processing, might be best to add on-screen text indicating what yer doing. Unless the customer already knows what each pup selection positions sounds like (an unrealistic expectation at best), they're not gonna know what position nor drive level (clean, mild crunch, heavy gain, etc.) yer playing at. Now after all above has been said, I am interested in getting a Risa, but only today have discovered the Flights. Now will have to decide which LP-uke to get. Nobody seems to have the black archtop(?) Risa and Flight dont seem to have any black LPs that I've seen...altho the "goldtop" version looks attractive.
