ELO, better than the Beatles.
This was 45 years ago. Let that sink in!
It’s unbelievable how he’s kept his voice,so good, through decades of recording, and live concerts. He’s a stunning artist. And the whole of his players and backup singers are wonderful, too.
Those were the days! We didn't realise how free we were.
Every song that ELO does it extraordinary. There is no mediocrity in Jeff Lind’s vocabulary.

As I listen to your reaction I'm reminded of a conversation I once had with my niece, who was 20 years old at the time. She came into the room and overheard me playing this song on my laptop, "Uncle Dean," she suddenly said, "What on earth are you listening to?" I told her that it was one of my all time favorite songs by Electric Light Orchestra, (along with "Here is the News." She took a second or two to process this, then she finally said, in a tone of resignation, "My generation is never gonna come up with anything as cool as this..." After a moment however, her face brightened as something dawned on her, then she added, "But that's okay, we can just listen to the music of your time..."
Oh man guy, please go down this rabbit hole. “Mr. Blue Sky “ is such a mood booster. Oh happy day! Love your reactions 🎶🎶💕🦋
Not ELO...E.L.O...individual letters. And during their Disco phase, I believe their biggest hit was "Don't Bring Me Down".
@Cosmo-Kramer
Жыл бұрын
They didn't have a "Disco phase". They had 1 Disco song, and he just reacted to it. Maaaaybe, "Shine A Little Love", is Disco-y. But, "Don't Bring Me Down", is a straight rocker.

@Cosmo-Kramer

@@leestockton9367 The album's name was not an intentional play on words. It was only after it was named that keyboardist Richard Tandy, who didn't love the disco sound a couple of the tracks had, that he called the LP, "Disco Very", as a joke.

@@Cosmo-KramerWhat a load of crock; stop listening to the "stories" and find out the truth
I feel so blessed to have grown up in the era of *REAL* musicians, *REAL* talent, *REAL* instruments, *REAL* music, *REAL* voices…..I feel sorry for kids today (well, the last couple decades really). At least if they find sites like yours, they can be introduced to magic and history…otherwise they may never know…………..

IMO the best live performance ever is "Telephone Line" at Wembly Stadium. 109 thousand people were there!

Brilliant performance.
Jeff Lynne is known for his musical production capabilities (both with ELO and many other artists), his melding of classical and pop/rock elements, and as you pointed out his vocals, which are amazing. Saw ELO in concert about 5 years and was shocked at how good his voice has held up into his 70s!
My faborite band thanks to JEFF LYNNE & (ELO) for his music...From GUATEMALA 🇬🇹❤️👌✌️
The concerts were fantastic back in the 70's
Love this group. ELO had their biggest hits in the 70's-80's & mixed modern rock pop songs with classical overtones. Jeff Lynne wrote most of their songs. They had a lot of great hits such as "Roll Over Beethoven", "Evil Woman", "Showdown", "Can't Get It Out Of My Head", "Strange Magic", "Livin' Thing", "Do Ya", "Rockaria!", "Turn To Stone", "Sweet Talkin' Woman", "Mr. Blue Sky", "Wild West Hero", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Shine A Little Love", "Confusion", "Hold On Tight", "Twilight", "The Way Life's Meant To Be", "Here Is The News", "Ticket To The Moon" etc.

Absolutely great song Carol.
They have two great songs live at Wembly Stadium. Evil Woman and Telephone Line .They are tremendous. Better than studio versions.
@Cosmo-Kramer
Жыл бұрын
They have more than two. But as great as the songs at that 2017 show are, they are not better than, or even as great as, the original studio versions from the '70s.
You have to check out 'Rockaria!' (Official Video) by them! Rock n Roll with a classical theme that's just plain fun!
Jeff Lynne is a pure genius, amazing song play this nearly every day... loved your review and reviews your great funny and honest
So glad you chose ELO to try! The beginning of this song is amazing. I haven't heard it in a while, forgot how much it makes me want to dance.😊
So many all over the world secret messages four little diamonds confusion thank you for another great reaction ❤❤
Jeff Lynne's voice is so distinctive and beautiful.
It's pronounced with just the letters - E L O. There are so many good songs... Don't Bring Me Down Mr. Blue Sky Strange Magic Sweet Talkin' Woman Turn To Stone Telephone Line Evil Woman Livin' Thing
Every ELO song is eargasmic lol
ELO band is talented and their songs are all spectacular . My favorites are Mr. Blue Sky and Don't Bring Me Down. The whole album Out of the Blue is great.
Mr Blue Sky, true classic, voted the happiest song at one stage. Telephone Line, Shine A Little Love, Don’t Bring MeDown, Living Thing, Roll Over Beethoven, etc, etc. The list goes on, all brilliant
your great man, a music reactionist who shows true emotion to great music, keep it up, great channel.
"Showdown" is another great one from ELO
ELO ) (Jeff Lynne) had 38 top 40 songs on billboard's chart...!!!! he was a musical genius... so underappreciated...

He still is a musical genius!!!
E.L.O. is good stuff. Just happy music. 👍👍👍😎
Richard Tandy- ELO's keyboardist, just passed. How sad. He was like the Richard Wright of ELO.
Richard Tandy on the keyboard is a genius in his own right!
I love ELO! My faves are Telephone Line, Don’t Bring Me Down & Turn to Stone. Hope you’ll keep going with them as they are one of a kind!
Every song that ELO did is amazing Jeff Lynne apparently is the lead singer and he's awesome
I got to see them on their Out of the Blue tour way back in the 70s. Was a concert I could never forget. I didn't realize at the time how lucky I was to see them. You saw that flying saucer on the web page? At the beginning of the concert it landed on the stage, let the band members out, then took off again to stay flying above the stage to generate the light show.
E.L.O., "Sweet Talking Woman"!
Hi SalvoG..you recently reacted to Roy Orbison. Jeff Lynne was one of the main players in resurrecting Roy's career into mainstream in the late 1980s. Roy Orbison was one of of Jeff Lynne's heros and he had a poster of the "Big O" in his bedroom growing up. They formed the supergroup the Travelling Wilbury's, consisting of JeffLynne, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan. Roy Orbison said he was the best producer he had ever worked with. Jeff Lynne's incredible musicality is off the scale.
Mr Blue Sky, Rockaria, Wild west hero, Roll over Beethoven, Telephone line, Diary of Horace Wimp. Honestly, it's difficult to find a bad ELO song. This is a rabbit hole worth going down
Look to their older stuff. Unbelievably good!
He has many more that will blow your mind!!
ELO been my favorite since I was 12 in 74😎U just begun to scratch an itch🤣🎶
Hi!! This was my favorite ELO song! A complete banger. The first time I heard it was on my parents car going to dance music in the middle of the Disco era. Please, notice that this song is part of the Discovery album, which should be their most happy and Disco album ever. But the ELO began (70's) and ended (80's) with a very different style. Other great hits are Livin' thing, All over the World, Telephone Line, Evil Woman, Sweet talking Woman and Mr. Blue Sky, among others. Best regards from Chile!! 🙂
Incredible live!!
ELO has so many great songs and so many distinct sounds, it's a deep dive
Oh, my Dude- E.L.O is, in my opinion, probably where The Beatles might have gone if they had moved into the mid- late 70’s. Jeff Lynne is an absolute genius - he was actually asked by the remaining Beatles to produce unfinished songs “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love” back in 1994. I love this song, but my picks from E.L.O would be “Evil Woman”, “Turn To Stone” and “ Telephone Line”.
Jeff Lynne is also an album producer one of which was the posthumous album from Roy Orbison - Mystery Girl. You now have sampled four of the five members of the Traveling Wilburys in some form or fashion, you are only missing Bob Dylan. Hope you react to Bob as well as The Traveling Wilburys.
Love this song so much!
You can really tell this gentleman appreciates music.
It's so cool to see you enjoy Disco. I had a blast at the discos from 1977 to 1980. I was so young, so poor, so shy... but I danced my ass off to those awesome songs. An iconic few years for sure.
So glad you got around to ELO!!! Great reaction!😀😀😀
By the time this single came out, the Discovery album had already blown up and been a massive hit. This was the 4th or 5th hit single from this album. This was the closest thing to disco E.L.O. did.
Can’t believe you haven’t reacted to Mr Blue Sky yet 😮 officially the happiest song in the world!
Jeff Lynn is one of the singers on the While my guitar gently weeps performance you recently watched x
The "O" stands for Orchestra. Loved this growing up...
So good.....
Don't bring me down and Livin' thing are my favorite of all time ❤ you should react to those.
I was 13 or 14 when this song came out. My friends and I swore that we hated disco, but we loved this!
❤❤❤
"Hold on Tight" is a great, short, little rockabilly style song of theirs; i think i first heard it on the old "My Name is Earl" show.
Loved it from the moment I first heard it when it first came out.
E..LO...lolol...everyone does that. E L O Cute...I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl a couple years ago. The production was amazing, Jeff was phenomenal!
Do next from them these songs : "Mr blue sky" & "Shine a little love"
ELO are incredible, so many great songs, Roy Wood left not long after the band were formed and he set up his own band called Wizzard.
ELO was and is my favorite band nearly 50 years now. You should try "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" By the way, you pronounce the letters individually - EE - EL - OH
The Electric Light Orchestra... E.L.O....are my lifetime favourites since the mid 70s and still. So, so many gems over the decades. I also discovered Nightwish and Floor Jansen just over 12 months ago. Phenomenal live band. 🙏❤️👍😊
Are you going to be okay? lol Cool song. Thanks!
Definitely need to do more ELO for sure Salvo . A class act for many a decade ..👍
I saw these guys in the late 70s. At the time the stage was crazy decked out as a spaceship. I seem to remember they tended to have a lot of technical problems but it was truly amazing for the time. I distinctly remember this urban myth kind of story going around that a female fan’s eye was injured when an ELO laser light hit her watch face and bounced to her eye. All these dire warnings going around about not wearing a watch to the concert . . . Does anyone else remember that or should I chalk it up to bad acid?
Telephone Line by ELO will also blow your mind! Pretty much anything y eff Lyne and ELO and The Traveling Wilbury's will low your mind!!
Jeff Lynne is a among the historic master composers. Also a significant producer, for the Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the Beatles, all four voices, inspired by a cassette recording John Lennon made. He still tours, delivers a greater version than you expect, at 75.
You must listen to much much more of E-L-O. There are a dozen or more songs you would love by them. Jeff Lynne is a genius. Full stop. Wrote the songs, sang lead, produced, you name it. Mr. Blue Sky, Do Ya, Ma Ma Ma Belle, All Over the World (if you thought this one woke you up lol!). Sweet Talkin' Woman, Living Thing, Don't Bring Me Down, Showdown, and I could go on and on and not say enough about them. Their songs all have somewhat different sounds. Strange Magic is surreal especially with headphones, and Can't Get It out of My Head. Just do it. You won't be sorry.
This is on my rollerskate playlist when I skate
If you're just discovering ELO you're honestly deprived of some of the best music ever. I feel for ya. Capt.Bob
You have many songs to get to with ELO!!! My fave Telepone Line!!
This and “Strange Magic” are my favorite ELO songs …. and there are multiple to pick from.
Oh love E.L.O. All of their stuff
Jeff Lynne was one of the performers on the George Harrison memorial that you reacted to with Prince`s disappearing guitar.
Ahhh ELO ..yes👌🏼 Blend of rock, pop & classic, & more. Great reactions to this one. Luv it. They have an awesome catalog ... Telephone Line, Mr Blue Sky & Do Ya. There's plenty more too. Excited to see you show ELO some love. Enjoy the Wknd Salvo. Bout to head over to join ur #2 channel. Thnx for heads up .. Peace 🙂☮️
Love ELO!!! My favorite is "Mr. Blue Sky"!!!🎵🎼🎶🎸🥁🎹🎤🎙🎧🤘🤘
In the late 70s ELO were the biggest band in the World
Orchestral Rock at its best!
Side note, Bev played drums for Black Sabbath in the 80s for one album and tour.
Jeff Lynne. Simply the best.
Great song. See if you can find a stereo version. It makes such a difference. Every ELO song is pretty much gold. Peace.
Gotta go down the elo rabbit hole , some amazing songs, love all over the world with the flash mob videos, so fun
Love the Discovery album. Have it on vinyl and all 4 of the hit singles from it on 45. Even found the cd of the album at a used place! So good. Actually, this isn't the first time you've listened to ELO. You listened to Xanadu, which is a duet between ELO and Olivia Newton-John. Basically it was ELO with Olivia taking the lead singer's place.
That was a good one. Thanks
ELO has a lot of different styles, here are some suggestions: •Another disco: Shine A Little Love •Hard rock with a bit of Opera (lady vocalist joins in): Rockaria! •Ballad, with best-ever outro: Shangri-La •Pop-rock: Livin' Thing •Spacey, with deep philosophical sci-fi lyrics: Mission (A World Record) •Happy and upbeat tune with lots of orchestra: Mr. Blue Sky •Prog-rock with creepy intro: Fire On High (instrumental) •Rock & Roll: Roll Over Beethoven
Long list of good, good songs in their catalog. Jeff Lynne formed Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) which has had several musicians come and go, but Jeff has remained the one constant. ELO is his baby. Jeff is a highly respected musician/songwriter and was good friends with George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and others. He was a member of The Traveling Wilburys super group that consisted of him, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dillon. I've seen them perform live twice (late 70's and mid 80's). Big, professional performances and remain some of my best memories. "Fire On High", "Showdown", "Ma-Ma-Ma Belle", "Boy Blue", "Evil Woman", "Do Ya", "Livin' Thing", "Telephone Line", "Sweet Talkin' Woman" - just to name a few.
One of my favorites. Love this one, and always loved Jeff Lynne's voice. Also we never called them "E-low", the letters were always just pronounced individually "E-EL-OH"
Buddy with a keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )
What a fabulous reaction. This is soooooo disco. I can see the flashing lights and the bellbottoms. And Travolta's white suit.
It's ELO...Electric Light Orchestra....phenomenal. check out Roy Wood....Jeff Lynn is a musical genius....I am glad I grew up with this music....
Enjoyed this one Salvo ! ELO holds the US record for the most top 40 hits without ever hitting # 1. In my top 5 bands of all time. Would recommend " Shine a little love & So Fine " next ! A new rabbit hole enjoy !!!✌️
Eelo.Priceless.
ELO are among the gods of Rock n' Roll!!! And they are definitely one of my all-time favorite bands!!! Love ELO!!!
This was the last album by them to include the string section. Jeff pared the group done for the 80s and beyond. Their best stuff is all earlier, 70s'
If you like strings, check out "Tightrope" from their "A New World Record" album.
Mr. Blue Sky … have to listen
Welcome to our music😂, I am 63 but also love Linkin Park and Ren😊.
You just fell into the ELO Rabbit Hole, enjoy the trip. Try Concerto for a Rainy Day which consists of multiple songs. Rollover Beethoven which brought them to fame back in the early 70's. Jeff Lynn the vocalist was the driving force in the band. I got to see them when they did the Flying Saucer Tour, blew me away!!
